WV travel specifically to Wheeling and Huntington. Thinking about traveling to wheeling for some house purchasing. I work remote 120k/yr looking to settle down from 15 years of fun traveling. What's the best way these days to get around WV. I have around 1.5m saved up looking for the laid back lifestyle in my late 30s. Anyone been looking at the housing market 100-125k gets you a fucking mansion, so even if I get replaced by a clanker I can live out the rest of my time okay.Any advice for WV? Looking at other states like OKC but Wheeling is nice as close enough to Pittsburgh and Eire for some weekenders out. I do like mountains.>inb4 no women or things to doHad my good share in my life don't need more, if I can have a dog, smoker for BBQ, and a good yard, I'm happy
>hood nigga nursing home larp thread
>>2917366lol, I'm nearing 40 but not dead yet. I've seen all I can possibly want to see or have the energy to at this point, I just want a smal town to move to and chill. There is something nice sounding about a big yard, just peace from the hussle n bussel of Asia, where I can go down to he bar and hang out for hours or watch the leaves change or go fishing down by a river not filled with mystery items etc etc.Rotating through Georgetown ML, Jakarta, Taiwan, Aussie/NZ, etc etc gets old after a bit. There is something appealing about some place I can plop my ass down, own a nice car, walk around the yard, smell some fresh clean air, and my biggest worry is getting a flat tire on the way to pick up food.
>>2917371Sounds like a good plan if you can handle the winters and small town living. 90 % white is good
West Virginia is grim. Wheeling and Huntington both have really high crime rates and are in the bottom 5 percent of the US for safety. The weather is bad. The people are very poor and have no opportunity for improvement. Morgantown is nicer with the university there. You'll have more jobs, good looking college girls in town, some good food in town and it's closer to the ski resorts. it also has 1/3 the crime. You could also look at Bedford PA. They have almost zero crime. It has a really nice historic main street. You can get to Wisp and Seven Spring in an hour from Bedford. Pittsburgh is less than 2 hours. You can get a big place in Bedford for $200K. Are you able to work remotely outside the US? Because if you can, just do what everyone does now and go to Spain or Portugal. I'd rather rent in Portugal than own in West Virginia.
>>2917409>go to SpainNow that's grim. They use white people there like ATMs just rob them, steal their wallets, phones and jewelry and the cops are afraid to stop them because there are millions of Africans the government just imported
>>2917409>OP>yeah I want a countryside nothingness with a big yard but nature>HEY OP PLEASE SARS COME TO SPAIN PLEASE >bedfordmy nigga at least wheeling has Pittsburgh close to it.Like holy shit did you read what OP typed? this is probably a bot response have this
>>2917355Why would you own a home when you can just use AirBnB? AirBnB is way more convenient. And you don't have to worry about maintenance or property taxes. And the platform always takes your side in every dispute.
>>2917457>And you don't have to worry about maintenance or property taxesBecause it's equity that provides security, and far cheaper to own a home than airbnb monthly. I don't think you understand how cheap in taxes and utilities home ownership can be in the USA especially some place like Wheeling. A 125k house is probably going to be <1000USD/yr, utilities are obviously what you make it but it's not bad.
>>2917409>The weather is bad.yeah, I live in PA. OP should be prepared for many months of cold gray shitty weather where you'll be cooped up inside. Unless you like outdoor-type winter activities.Pittsburgh is one of the cloudiest cities in the whole country
>>2917410Feelings are not facts bro. The crime rate in West Virginia is vastly, exponentially worse than in Spain. Having traveled extensively though Spain and West Virginia myself, only a lunatic would choose West Virginia over Spain if you can work remotely. That's not to mention the infinitely better weather, food, women and cities in Spain.
>>2917410Oh hello, /pol/ virgin. Mom let you use her internet again?
>>2917846Yeah aside from you need to fork over a good chunk of cash for a Visa/Citizen because you aren't African on a boat tier flooding in. Also >eurostatlol I don't think you actually believe those stats mate.
>>2917855I don't know what you're talking about, but you're clearly on the wrong board. You have never had a passport or left your home state.
>>2917866In Japan currently just chilling waiting out the insane rain storms going on right now. lolMoving to Spain as a US citizen is fucking retarded because of the citizenship hurdles you need to overcome and pay for first. Then it's taxes, changing social construct, etc. Not to mention finding something like picrel that's ready to move into with property taxes at around 80/mo. That's just outside the main parts of town meaning crime is non existent, and if I wanted added security owning a gun is a non issue.I dunno about you but I don't trust the EU with statistics at all, was there for a few months last year was bonkers.
>>2917355>settle down from 15 years of fun traveling>have around 1.5m saved up looking for the laid back lifestyle in my late 30sFUCKOFF
>>2917868>In Japan currentlyNo you're not.>was there for a few months last yearNo you weren't.
>>2917868>In Japan currently just chilling waiting out the insane rain storms going on right now>insane rain storms going on right now>insane rain storms>going on right now>insane rain>right now
>>2917907>>2917895that's "hood nigga nursing home". He is an american office wagey (or a neet) who dreams of one day traveling someday. he thinks that if he gets a wfh job somewhere he can save a whole bunch of money and his dream is to retire in a nursing home in the hood by age 47. every week he does a different asia larp, one week he says he is in hong kong for 90 days, and then the next week it's korea, and then taiwan. it's always slightly different. he'll take screenshots of airbnb and amazon and try to ask about the cost of living. and then he takes screenshots of random houses in the ghetto and says "look at dis one guiz"don't really see the point of the larp or what this guy's endgame is. strikes me more as some sort of government entity instead of a real poster
>>2917907I'm in Kansai, we had some stupid rain constantly come in this morning caught me on the way to the gym. Was off and on till about 1-2PM so called it an early day for going out, October has usually been much drier in prior months>>2917909I have no idea what you're talking about, you know there are more than 1 person on /trv/ right
>>2917909All my years on 4chan have taught me that you can never underestimate the autism of some people. Plenty of people do things that make absolutely no sense, and you can't help but think they are trolling. And they're actually not.
