EXPERIENCES TRAVELER TIPS

This is a thread for useful tips that aren't typical, and aren't commonly found everywhere
>>

Don't travel to try and get laid. You probably won't
>>
>>2917497
I'd like to agree with you but I have to disagree. There are certain counties with women that have zero standards other than skin colour or status. Quite sad but many down and outs will benefit from visiting them
>>

Stop trying to "do" places. Stop looking for "hidden gems". Stop reading useless information on the internet and stop researching opinions about places. All of the opinions you see on the walled garden nu-internet are from an influencertard or an actual ministry of tourism shill. Avoid it all.

Just go there with an empty mind and live, and then when it's over and you're back home you can take time to analyze it and think about it.

VERY good advice. I wish somebody told me this. I've only realised this later. When I would try and experience all of the stuff that were said to be gems you can't miss it just left me drained. I've wasted years doing this. Not that I was ever a person who went to landmarks to take photos. I've never been that way. Even when I first started traveling I had no interest in seeing something like the Eiffel tower

i'm not trying to get laid, but i'd like to have experiences with people instead of alone. the last time i traveled it was an incredibly lonely experience. somehow more lonely than being alone at home.

this time i am staying in a hostel for a week. it's going to be the best experience or the worst experience. i dont think i'm built for extraverted casual socializing but i'm going to give it my best shot. i specifically found a hostel that is known for being low-key with a mix of all ages. i'm trying not to have expectations, but i know i will be disappointed if i can't make at least one connection with someone. my only advantage is that i'm conventionally attractive.

if i have a horrible time, i'm probably not going to solotravel again. but at least i'll be able to justify the cost this time around. the last time i felt like an idiot spending so much money on something i did not enjoy.

Literally what's even the point then?
>>

No one's forcing you to do it.
>>
No matter where you go, there’s always buildings

Don't be afraid to rent a car if it makes sense in the country you're visiting. Hell, even in a place like Japan it's worth renting a car if you're planning to explore certain regions.

I would have missed so much cool shit if I never rented a car in the countries where I did, I never regretted it.

Literally to see tourist sites. That's what travel is for

Excellent advice
If you see a place on the internet without actively having looked for it on google maps, it's probably being overrun by other faggots and expensive as fuck.
The best places I've found when travelling have always been either random spots that I decided to just walk into, places recommended by locals or nearby stuff on google maps with less than 300 reviews.

To experience things, to have fun? If you can't have enjoyable experiences without sex, don't worry, there's plenty of resources available to help sex addicts.
>>
>>2917542
Its terrible advice, places are popular for a reason they are objectively good
>>

>low-key hostel full of broke oldfags
Uh, those type of hostels are usually the least social; alcohol is often heavily restricted if not banned outright. Maybe you'll find a dorm rotter who is feeling as lonely as you are and you can chat while preparing slop in the kitchen.

Else it's no different from anywhere else. If you can't figure out how to strike up or carry a conversation with somebody who is absorbed in living their own life, you're SOL. Most people you talk to in a hostel you will only talk to once, so IDK why you would be thinking of muh real connection. Next time you see them they will be either packing up to leave or absorbed with something else; it's unlikely they will remember your name unless your conversation was very memorable.

Like everything else in life. You do it because other people are doing it and/or want to do it.
>>2917519
Duh. The Earth has countless places without permanent human structures.
>>2917497
Correction: if you are lonely and low energy, don't travel thinking you will find a nice girl to give you the GFE and soothe your loneliness. You won't, because thots are selfish and want to receive pleasure, not give it. If you are a good time Charlie who has been stuck in some bleak wagecage for way too long, you will almost invariably find some piece of ass who is also looking for a good time.

You're a marketers perfect mark. Seriously, in 2026 you are here claiming all online hype for [place] to be honest and genuine? How gullible can a nigga be?

would love to hear you expand on this more. My 'living' at home consists of me barely leaving the house; how do you strike a balance between regular living and actually experiencing the country you're in without going to the hotspots?
>>
>>2917562
You are claiming that restaurants no one goes to, parks with a 3 star rating and villages in India with no name are the best places to go. Thats silly.
>>
>>2917563
If you rarely leave your house you are suffering from depression
>>

>how do you strike a balance between regular living and actually experiencing the country you're in without going to the hotspots?
For me I do 3 month stays and have a routine. All I do at home is eat, sleep, shower, and maybe study. Most of the day I'm outside hunting for women. Sometimes when you hit on women they invite you to do stuff, so the only times I end up at the hotspots is organically through that.

Based and truthpilled

Nothing new to explore in the vicinity is the problem. Sunday night in a small town, rain falling down, most businesses shuttered and nobody in the park. It's fine for a couple days' stay but I'm always eager to step onto the bus and say goodbye.

I'm claiming that you should go to notable cities, but then ignore the giga-tourist hotspots and instead go to places that look good to you upon visual inspection, places that the people living in the city tell you about and restaurants with good reviews that are not overrun. Noone said you should go to some backwater and eat shit there.
>>
>>2917662
I dont go to restaurants thats fag shit
>>

I'll still see a hot spot as you call it, if it's something that excited me and I think it's worth seeing. If I'm in Kyrgyzstan I'm definitely going to lake Isyk kul. But I may miss out on a lot of the landmarks and attractions like some significant memorial, a special and spectacular view from this spot that you must see! Or a wall that has been standing for centuries and is protected (if I happen to be passing the area I will). I realised that they never never let me with any sort of feeling, and if I didn't know these landmarks were special I wouldn't even be impressed in the slightest. When I was in Lijiang I spent a long time walking around the old town because it was genuinely amazing (I'll be criticized for this) and was told there was a second old town 45 minutes away that's a must see. I was going to try and fit it in but I though about it. After seeing this is it really worth it just to tick it off?
I realised the things that have really made my trips are just going off into nature trying to spot wild animals, meeting people, being invited into homes, seeing how people like in villages, trying new foods, just walking around a city so much that you come across things that will never be in any that, weird areas that leave you thinking what the hell is this, buying drinks for people in a bar who don't have a lot of money and get excited, taking it easy and finding a comfy place to sit and people watch with a snack, being bold and asking a woman out and then going on a silly pursuit to meet up with her in her unknown town, finding things that are actually really interesting
