Spooky edition>Last Thread: >>2913726>What is this thread? Why are there two generals?/rcg/ was initially created as a way for the roller coaster enthusiasts on here to discuss all things roller coasters and theme parks. While roller coasters are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other theme parks, their rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /tpg/ comes in.>Can I talk about Six Flags / United parks in this thread?Absolutely! Six Flags / United discussion of all sorts including rides/resorts/dining/trip planning is OK.General Rules:1. Talk about Theme Parks and/or Rollercoasters.2. First for Katie rape
>>2918436What is undeniably, the best roller coaster?
The chicken tendies at Dollywood have gone way downhill. They were great when I was a kid. The ones I had the other day were horrible.

>>2918436>>2918440>>2918441>>2918443>>2918449>All B&M hypers now legally are required to put in seat belts so fat Americans can no longer be launched out of the rideThanks a lot Americans!
>>2918436I’m going to start making threads before page 10 because this fag is trying to make this his e-thot thread and physically unable to make an OP without a picture of a girl he keeps talking about wanting to rape
>>2918455>LegallyNo this is just Six Flags doing it for the needed safety imagery. It even is solving the fattie issue because now someone like that guy will be too fat to put on the seatbelt and have to do the walk of shame And this is only changing three rides (Goliath in Over Georgia, Nitro, Raging Bull) every single other B&M hyper/giga has one. You don’t notice them. You can unbuckle when you get top of lift if you really care
>>2918455Faulty sensor it is!Aren't the belts for the lap bar purely a "it's now impossible to spring open or have someone in that can't get 3 clicks" thing rather than something really restrictive?
I wonder which has been the bigger success story this year in terms of numbers built. Wild swings or Mack's Water coaster? Both are popping up all over the place, especially in Europe
>>2918468>still thinking there’s only one katieposterNGMI
>>2918473>>2918469How exactly would you not notice them? They’re not like the RMC or PTC seatbelts where you can loose or undo them after leaving the statement. And they tighten themselves IIRC.
>>2918449>Did I miss anythingyes, a lot actually. post the real list
>>2918474the thing with Paultons is it doesnt have an 'e-ticket' ride getting tourists travelling 200 miles like you would for Alton Towers. Likely wont have when the last expansion area is becoming accommodation. They copied to Europa model of having many mid tier attractions but forgot that Europa also has top tier coasters.I know plenty gush how good the hospitality is - cool.
>>2918449>Did I miss anything?A small park on Lake of the Ozarks in rural Missouri is scheduled to open next spring. It will eventually include an indoor waterpark and a Marriott Hotel.RCDB says 2 coasters, both Vekoma family models - a suspended one and a boomerang. Parking and admission will be free.
>>2918473That’s a myth. Yes that’s one of the purposes but they can work as a secondary restraint in the event of a restraint failure. Millennium Force and Fury would both hold you in with a seatbelt alone. It’s not ideal but as a backup they would work and withstand forces much stronger than a human body
>hogsmeade with no hagrid’s or express and bad sightlines>nintendo with no mine cart or yoshi and half the moving stuff>jurassic with no velocicoaster >less impressive mummy So it’s just universal florida but less good? Why did they bother? I will shout out the studio tour though. Reminds me of USF before they ruined it.Fast and Furious is good, kind of like a less intense Time Traveler with lawn mower sound effects the whole time. They’re running two trains despite having two loading docks.
>>2918571>but they can work as a secondary restraint in the event of a restraint failureMaybe... Nylon webbing is very strong, and my guess is it (and the buckle) are capable of holding a guest in, but the designers probably tell parks "no guarantees" because they're technically rider size gauges
>>2918581Just left Waterworld. That was also terrific.
>>2918571It’s a really dumb myth if you think about it. There are two kinds of seatbelts parks could buy: ones that are functional and ones that aren’t. Of course they bought the functional ones.
>>2918581The only thing worth doing is the tour and SLoP, every other good thing they get just ends up being cloned in Florida a few years later
>Goliath ejection>girl in mexico bodyslammed into concrete by a pendulum Good time to be a Disney adult. Can't wait to have some dole whip and churros.
>>2918598>t. too fat to fit on a B&M
>>2918602B&M? What's that? I only ride Arrow.
imagine being tribal over theme park franchises but even worse imagine being tribal over theme parks and your side is Six Flags lmao
>>2918605Imagine not being fat.
>>2918605In August 2025, Six Flags offered unlimited admission and parking to all 42 of their properties for the 16 months for as low as $55. Their stans tend to be poor people.
>>2918609*next 16 months
>>2918581They desperately need to replace Transformers with something else
>>2918581It's expected that another soundstage or two will be on the chopping black soon. All the Hollywood studios are struggling to book filmings.
>>2918605I personally don't understand why hating SF and regional parks in general is required for posting in the roller coaster general.
>>2918703The most prolific posters are Disney and Universal adults who seem to live in Florida and have cheap Florida resident passes. For the rest of us it costs that much just to go to those parks for a day or two. The Disney Adult is also afraid of roller coasters and likes the vibes and food and merchandise more than the one and done mannequin rides.
>>2918703No one hates them, poorbro. Six Flags parks are like fast food restaurants. We all end up there eventually, some more often than others. The problem is when you start insisting that fast food is actually fine dining, or on par with fine dining. That’s when you get laughed at.
Great Yarmouth Scenic Railway in 1935. Never realised the ride used to have such incredible theming for back then.
>>2918714No one is insisting that. Is a park like Cedar Point more fun than a multi billion dollar highly themed Orlando park? It’s subjective for I suspect most who have been to both would say yes. You can only ride Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway once to twice before you’re bored to tears, for example. I was bored on my first ride through. Same with Rise. The most reridable attractions are thrill rides at Disney
>>2918715
>>2918717Replaced the scenery 60 years ago with some easier to maintain cladding. Still has its charm though. Only remaining scenic railway in the UK (Fuck you ticketmaster).Doesn't get as much attention as Blackpool Pleasure Beach but Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach still has cool unique things including the last surviving Virginia Reel and that snail ride
>>2918718Actually mixing up the pleasure beach and Joyland (both next to each other).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW60AGGB2g4>There are people who claim this isn't a cred
>>2918716Attendance figures say otherwise. >b-but CP is seasonalThe year round SF parks get mogged by Disney and Universal parks too.I suspect this is because SF parks are usually boring unless you’re actually on a ride, which isn’t the case for Disney/Universal.
Do you think Dollywood's next ride will be a big thrill coaster? All their recent editions have been family rides.
>>2918703Because this general started on /co/ and /tv/ as a primarily Disney/Universal focused thing before mods shoved it over here.
/ourgirl/ is so lame I love it https://youtube.com/shorts/U2UYOPrl0zY?is=3CFI_igcwj7Uh4LS
>>2918721Irrelevant. They’re not in competition. Cedar Point doesn’t market itself nationally or internationally, it doesn’t have major billion dollar IP branding, it’s primarily roller coasters and it’s in the middle of nowhere with no viable infrastructure to get to there easily. Compared with other regional parks it is more of a destination park with the resorts and beach and massive amount of rides and world class coaster collection but it’s still almost entirely visitors from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and western PA with some coming from KY and IL. Some people from farther away do visit but it likely has little effect on attendance. I said people who have been to both would most likely consider Cedar Point more fun. Fun being the keyword.
>>2918721>I suspect this is because SF parks are usually boring unless you’re actually on a ride, which isn’t the case for Disney/Universal.Why do you say that? They have dole whip and churros at Cedar Point too. A themed queue is better than unthemed switchbacks but the Orlando parks still have some unthemed switchbacks and people are still bored in both types of queues and playing heads up
>>2918734What people do with their time and money is definitely relevant to your question of >Is a park like Cedar Point more fun than a multi billion dollar highly themed Orlando park? And their answer to your question is clear: not only do people attend Disney/Universal parks far more than Six Flags parks, but they’re spending far more money to do it. $55 bought you 16 months of admission and parking to all 42 Six Flags parks, but that wouldn’t even buy you two days of parking at Disney/Universal. This is why Six Flags lost $1.6 billion in 2025.You also answered your own question here:>it’s still almost entirely visitors from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and western PA with some coming from KY and ILIf Six Flags was more fun than Disney/Universal it could attract more than locals, but as you pointed out,It mostly doesn’t.>>2918735You also kind of answered your own question here - when you tried to think of things you can do at parks besides being on rides, what you came up with was waiting in line for rides. This actually IS the best thing you can do besides being on a ride at most Six Flags parks (I liked the Brad Ross magic show at SFOT). But that isn’t the case for Disney/Universal and several other well-designed parks like Dollywood and SDC.
>>2918716This is one reason why I wouldn't want to live in Florida/California and have yearly access to these parks. No matter how technically impressive a slow dark ride is, you will get bored or tired of them over time, even after a few times. I remember going on Haunted Mansion twice in one day and even loving that ride I was getting tired of it, I could not imagine it being a thing you go daily. At least with thrill parks you are less likely to be tired of thrill coasters and you can save interest for the high themed stuff for your sporadic visits. And then depending where you are you have 3-6 months away from the park entirely. Eventually you go in and out to get on certain rides but you never really get bored of them eitherAnd everything around it you can find better and cheaper in your local area anyway like restaurants
>>2918747I mean they add new rides/food/merch every year or every other year. You get discounts. You can meet new people etc. it just shouldn’t be the ONLY socializing you do.
>>2918747I was bored with CP after my third straight day there so I don’t agree with this. Five months later I still don’t miss it, even though it has my favorite coaster. On the other hand after my third day at Disneyland and DCA I felt I had only scratched the surface of it. Also central Florida has an overall better thrill ride lineup than Ohio I’d argue, even though it’s way more expensive.
thinking of spending 4 days at Europa in December. Never been before. is this excessive? I want plenty of time to enjoy the park take it all in including what they do for Christmas
>>2918449>mishap>tragedyI know you're not trying to reuse the same word in reference to the same event over and over, but like come on
>>29188334 days including a day at the water park and assuming arriving on day 1, leaving on day 4 seems fine. It's a lot of time but there's a lot to be said about being able to be lazy at a park rather than stressful minmaxing.
>>2918867It was both of those things no cap.
>>2918873>water park>december
>>2918882It's indoors bozo

Merlin have it so tough, just imagine how difficult it's going to be removing all this David Walliams theming!
>>2918910Speaking of Merlin, I was blown away by Legoland California yesterday. I don’t care about lego at all and had no expectations, but I thought it was right up there with Disney and Universal for theming and atmosphere. Galacticoaster is just a junior Guardians of the Galaxy, but executed very well.
>>2918931The galacticoaster is really cool, just wish it was longer. It's a shame that the new ride in Legoland Winsor is an off the shelf spinning coaster (which is already in paultons park). Minifigure Speedway was a cool racing shuttle coaster though. On a Merlin related note, there's some people speculating that as the bonfire night show at Alton Towers is focusing on all the SW projects over the years, that they'll be announcing the new SW at the end of it. I doubt it though.
>>2918934>they'll be announcing the new SW at the end of itconsidering SW9/project horizon is a clone of the minecraft coaster at Chessington, that is underwhelming news if announced. its a Chessington type ride not AT imo. also lmao at next year is a walkthrough attraction. Cant wait for the general public uproar a month after it opens
>>2918939I'm not sure there's enough space for an SFX coaster in the Horizon building. It's taller that the Minecraft one but it's got a notably smaller footprint and no outdoor run
There’s a woman waiting behind me for the front row on ghost rider and I’m afraid it’s really a man. I’m too afraid to look.
>>2918950Phew, it wasn’t a man. I was just worried because she was alone and kind of tall and broad.
Jenny won.

>Alton Towers attendance higher than many SF parksnext time you cry about your dogshit amusement park not making the news list in here SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP because you dont belong on the big boys table
>>2919157>one of very few parks in a country of 60 million>not even 3 million visitorsExactly how shit is it?
Usually I cry at the end of small world but this time I cried the whole time.
>>2918994This is the simpsons, pandering to LCD normies. They don't know what a superstar limo is and only know that figment is a type of popcorn bucket disney world sells.
>>2918735>SF parks are usually boring h less you’re actually on a ride>uh, have you tried waiting in line for a ride?
>>2919157That's just because Great Adventure removed 25% of the park and is the objective worst amusement park in the country
>>2919157>Everland beating lotte worldI guess having a zoo and a bit more for kids to do scattered across a mountain side outweighs the hour+ trip outside of seoul. Samsung needs to stop being cheap and slap a dark ride in there.
>>2918754>It just shouldn’t be the ONLY socializing you do.I've been in central florida outside going to the parks. The problem is there is nothing else to do whatsoever, that part is the only socialization place. And any other location to live that isn't entirely deserted is going to have better non-park things to do than central florida
>>2919199>t. Disney adult that’s never been outside except at Disney or Universal
>>2919200>Directly say I've been to central florida for reasons not related to or involving going to any parks>Ignore that entirely Lmao
>>2919202Going to Millenial burger houses and sitting in the outdoor section doesn’t count while you eat the 15 patty widowmaker challenge doesn’t count, anon.
>>2918724Their president said they want to focus on attractions for families, so probably not.
>>2918563I'm doing a Missouri trip next June, so I might check this park out if it's open by then. However, their Vekoma coasters are both clones of coasters I have done before with Dragonflier at Dollywood and Snoopy's Soap Box Racers at Kings Island.
Good thing to know I should never post about the smaller local parks I visit ever again.
>>2919217Firechaser Express and Big Bear Mountain are two of the best family coasters in the world, and it's awesome that they're both at one park. But I do wish their next addition would be a little bigger. Doesn't need to be like Velocicoaster or anything, but something a little more thrilling than what's in the Wildwood Grove section. Also, Nightflight Expedition wasn't that great in my opinion. It's a very unique ride but I felt like none of the individual parts were that good.
How's Six Flags Fright Fest?
Does Silver Dollar City have any flaws? I went during the offseason but the only one I can think of is that Outlaw Run is a gimmicky piece of shit.
>>2919240Great America’s is terrible. My friend Jake says Over Georgia’s is good, but deserted.https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTfsYY1DU/

>>2918897I really wonder why Universal refuses to say what is going in the Lost Continent space.
>>2919269Bc it’s going to be some super pozzed shit like fucking pokeygays or zelda or shit and its going to look super cheap just like Mario land at Epic bc they know they won’t have to try bc of the power that those IPs have over the unwashed masses of aging obese childless millenial disney adults
>>2919253How much time in-between, and which park(s)?
