First time going to East Asia, I'm so excited!

The inability to find comfort in familiar spaces can be a sign of hidden grief or emotional depression.

The Geographic Cure (Escapism): This is the psychological impulse to believe that changing your physical location will solve internal emotional distress, relationship issues, or existential anxiety. The mind falsely equates "new surroundings" with a "new self."

If "home" represents unresolved emotional conflict or trauma, the desire to travel far away can be an avoidant coping mechanism—physically distancing oneself to avoid dealing with emotional vulnerability or conflict.

My plane got fucked so I couldn't fly yesterday as planned. Today the weather is fucked so I cannot fly until at least the evening.

After my father died I experienced this. I changed jobs and regions I was living in. I just couldn't stay where I currently lived.
My buddy even warned me about this but I still went through with it.

Sir, this is Wendy's.

The lack of desire to explore new places is often linked to emotional trauma and growing up in an environment where play and exploration were not safe. The mind learns to associate new experiences with negative stimuli, which makes the patient uncomfortable in new situations, like getting a new job, traveling, or even trying out a new flavor of a snack. The last one is particularly often observed in heavily autistic people who live off unseasoned chicken tendies.

Think of the people you know in life. Look at them one by one, on abs case by case basis. Other than one or two rare exceptions it's always the ones that have psychological and emotional problems that crave traveling far away. So the focus of your vacation should be to work on that
>>
>>2918648
Horseshit coping mechanism made up by wageslaves who get maybe 2-3 weeks outside of the wagecage every year. Meanwhile traveling is what people with 9+ figure net worths spend like 50% of their time doing. Surely it's because they have crappy lives that they're escaping from!

That's exactly what it is. These are my peers.

I'm working on it... Be patient.
>>

I'm saying people desperate for travel have problems. One big one is just pure stupidity and lack of wisdom (which you work on by books and study, not travel). Look at yourself:

First you literally think that rich = happy. This means you don't read much and had massive holes in your classroom education
Then you reply with this kindergarten reply that only a child would think makes sense
These are major problems
With you, the last thing you should be do is travel, you should be reading. Books help you at a faster rate than traveling ever will
>>
>>2918677
Yes, you sound very happy. Keep reading!
>>
>>2918678
You're the one sobbing and trying to deny the reality that you're extremely undereducated (which is a rude state to be traveling to other cultures in), and travel appeals especially to stupid people (they think it makes them sound smart if they have been to another culture). If you want to be happy you need to live by virtues such as truth and self examination. It's it the truth that you're severely undereducated and that you don't even value the truth much less self examination. This means people like Plato have absolutely no interest to you in any way. So why not do something like take the smart part of your brain and have it make a compromise with the dumb part of your brain that you'll escape your responsibility to learn Plato by at least traveling to Greece and doing a Plato-focused vacation
>>
>>2918679
You are projecting your problems onto everybody else. Time to look inward, retard
>>
>>2918682
Yes you do project your problems on to everyone else instead of looking inward. It's a huge part of your problem.

As for me, I have a lady friend in my life that calls me like every day. We've known each other since we were young teens. And a more important family member who is like my sister. Both of those are shooting themselves in the foot and going backwards with their travel habits & philosophy

I need to start an open long running conversation about it that might take years

So I first started with one of my other life long friends, a much wiser traveler than most (who for example at least known his local area extremely well and is extremely well traveled there before going off to other lands like a peak retard). I brought it up with him, and like with you, it's a touchy subject. You both know a lot of your travel habits are not good for you. And this is a wise traveler compared to most.

But yeah it's a conversation that needs to be had more frequently, especially in today's world were there is an active pro-travel industry actively brainwashing you
>>
>>2918684
I'm not going to read any of that but I think you need to need to go see a shrink. Or stop taking amphetamines if that's what's causing this unsolicited diarrhea of text. Best of luck lil buddy
>>
>>2918686
What books did you bring with you to read? And with coping, you're the one that feels so shitty about your vacation that you had to start a thread trying to get some comfort (or feel a deep connection of being in his shoes to the guy that did)

Moving to another country — I need some help.

I don't fully understand the difference between the US and the UK. I mean, I understand that the climate is different, and that British and American English are different, with American English being much easier (at least that's what I've heard). But I'm learning English right now, trying my best, and I'm struggling with it. I need some advice.

I don't know where it would be better to move: the UK or the US.

I like cool weather, when it's not too hot but not too cold either. The kind of weather where you can wear shorts one day and warmer trousers another day and feel comfortable either way.

But I've heard that the UK has a lot of heavy rain, fog, and constant dampness, which can make the weather uncomfortable.

As for the US, I've heard that 68% of the population is overweight, that the food is really unhealthy, and I've seen tons of videos online showing people presenting supposedly healthy food that looks like it's made of rubber. I'm genuinely worried about the long-term effects of the American diet and lifestyle.

However, most of the people I come across online who speak really good English are American, or at least they speak American English. Obviously, I don't personally know anyone like that in real life. And they all seem to say that American English is easier and that moving to the US is the better option.

Guys, I honestly don't know what to do. I'd really appreciate some advice, especially from people who actually live in the UK or the US, or have experience living in both. What are the pros and cons of each country, and which one would you recommend moving to?

>As for the US, I'm genuinely worried about the long-term effects of the American diet and lifestyle.
Lol you got duped hard there. It's actually very easy to eat healthy in America.
For food, American literally has everything. It's not a McDonalds on every corner. There are more Asian restaurants run by Asians then their are McDonalds and there are whole Asian markets run by Asians in every suburb. So if you want to eat an Asian diet the rest of your life in the US, that would be very easy unless you live in rural areas

But even with the Walmarts and the major grocery store chains.... Everyone has to list the ingredients. You just read that and don't buy anything with weird sounding unnatural words in the ingredients. The whole store isn't poisoned with stuff like that, just part of it. Every big grocery store has regular old healthy fruits and veggies, a bakery etc.
>>
>>2918693
>unless you live in rural areas
And even rural areas have farmers markets and farm-to-table option. In the cities you have a farmer's market once a week within a few miles of you no matter where you live. You pay a little more but you're getting it straight from the source
>>
Guys, what the fuck happened here. I just posted a pic, looking for emotional support regarding my flight delayed 22 hours, and suddenly there's a whole autistic schizo philosophy thread around it. wtf.

>don't fully understand the difference between the US and the UK
One big thing your missing is the US is made up of a bunch of different UKs all very different from each other with different climates and cultures that are like entirely different worlds. US had the population of Western Europe spread out over a land mass the size of all of Europe

It's not UK vs US, it's: UK vs what specific region of the US you have an offer it's in. Heck Texas vs Florida is a good debate and those states aren't even A-list (to some they might be). Then just within those two you have to debate the cities. In Texas, Houston & Dallas are lame soulless type cities to visit you might stereotype with America but their pros are they are huge and have seemly everything. Then you have Austin and San Antonio were are a whole different vibe. That's all in the same state

Imagine thinking the richest country has bad food. Lmao.
>>

It has both bad and good food, the difference is a lot of food there is illegal in most countries
>>
>>2918785
>a lot of food there is illegal in most countries

You believe some dumb shit, everywhere has bad food but the US has the best food and its fairly inexpensive
>>
The US has the most industrialized food production system and only incels could possibly fume about American food.
>>
>>2918797
It has good food but it also has the worst food too. If you go to a restaurant you're eating aspartame and lethal dosages of high fructose syrup, similar on the inner aisles of the supermarkets. Lots of GMO and shit too
>>
>>2918741
This is a travel bored, you're the one coping and seething with mom while we go places.
>>
>>2918647
Probably Typhoon Champi?
This is why you buy travel insurance
>>
>>2918693
If you enjoy eating out then America sucks as virtually all restaurants serve 900+ calorie meals for everything. If you enjoy cooking then yeah, it’s very easy to have a balanced and healthy diet, assuming you understand basic nutrition (which many people, in my experience, do not)

Your impression of East Asia will be completely different depending on whether China or Japan is the first country you visit.

The uk is a way better country than the usa but the USA is a lot bigger.
