>>4409265I blame Lucky Star for me getting into yuri
>>4409269>>4409286Was it the concert scene?
I wish the manga shipped them as much as the anime did
I have only read Lonely Kagamin
>>4409399Difference in the manga being?
>>4410442Never read it, but from what people said all over those decades, is that all those small shipping-bait moments in the anime are entirely anime-original.
Poor corporate slave Kagami, spends all day writing white papers about interest rates while her wife gets to be a clown on the internet all day.
How long has it been since the last Lucky Star thread? Two years?
The original keeps going!
My favourite piece of Lucky Star official art
Kagami reminds me a lot of Kyou from Clannad
konata loves her kagami wami
>>4435561Indeed she does.
>>4440165Very cute couple.
>>4410449So it was somehow even less yuri than the already nearly yuri-bait devoid anime? Crazy that people shipped them this much.
>>4449036Here's the full res version of this
>>4454892the timeskip manga has them acting pretty gay. not so much the other girls though...
>>4471728Well that's ominous. Lemme guess, the other girls have boyfriends or worse. What exactly does "pretty gay" mean though? If there is even any evidence that these two would hook up in the end that would save the franchise from being /u/seless.
>>4480243Has anybody told that you sound like a massive faggot?
>>4480262Cool. Now answer the question.
>>4409265Their love is so pure and they have the greatest friends 2 lesbian lovers could ask for
>>4454892How many CGDCT anime were there back then? I can only think of this and Haruhi
>>4488153I don’t think Haruhi is CGDCT, like at all. A better example of CGDCT from that time would be Hidamari Sketch
>>4454892I’m not the first person to point this out, but the newer generation of fans seem to focus on what’s in explicitly in the source material, whereas with the older generation it was more about whether we as fans wanted to imagine the characters together.
>>4409399I swear I read some time ago the mangaka said that one of them had a crush for the other. There's any source for that?
>>4488163Sometimes I miss the old days.Nowadays it feels like subtext doesn't exist for most people (is either yuri or bait) and they can't be happy unless we have a kiss on screen.
>>4488153Azumanga Daioh, Hidamari Sketch, and Ichigo Mashimaro.>>4488163>>4488166That's obviously bullshit given that Bokita and ChisaTaki are the hottest couples of the last couple of years.
>>4488166>>4488175I think it’s two groups of people. There are still tons of people who like classic-style shipping (I’m one of them), of course. But now that there’s actually media with explicit lesbian representation, you also get people who like that and want to see it — they don’t care or know about shipping, they just want to enjoy cute couples. Which is fair enough but kind of annoying when they intrude on fan spaces imo
>>4488163>>4488165>>4488179It's not actually that complex and it really has nothing to do with generations. It's simply people who like couples or potential couples based on their personality or interactions, and as this anonymous person says: >>4488175The existence of yuri series with explicit pairings doesn't automatically mean people will stop shipping the characters (especially if they have good chemistry). Some people in the yuri community seem to have the foolish idea that more explicit series mean people will stop pairing their favorite characters. What's happening is that the pairings are now more blatant or have stronger foundations, as mentioned with Bokita and ChisaTaki. People fell in love with the character dynamic. Something similar can be said about HibiMeshi, or why Atori and Suzu work so well together despite Suzu hating Atori and being obsessed with Yuu.
>>4488184I think there’s a big gap between people who have fun shipping their favorite characters, regardless of what took place in the show (Suzu and Atori is a good example of this), and people who just want to see girls kissing and react negatively to anything they perceive as subtext or bait
>>4488217>>people who just want to see girls kissing and react negatively to anything they perceive as subtext or baitThese people don't seem to enjoy yuri in the first place. As another anon said in a general thread, they act like people investing money and value yuri based on the return on that investment, which is really stupid when it comes to entertainment. These people don't seem to understand the enjoyment of seeing those characters together either. Personally, and I know I'm part of a small minority, I love the Yuu and Rura pairing in Bad Girl (this also applies to Kaede and Riri and AssLily). Every little moment the series or the author delivers makes me relatively happy. The same goes for other pairings of that type. It's not about being canon or super official, but about enjoying the happiness that the happiness of those characters can give you, and if there's something official about it, all the better.
>>4488222You said that well, I have nothing to add really.>they act like people investing money and value yuri based on the return on that investmentCan you say more about this? Do you mean return like, how popular the series gets or how far the characters’ relationship progresses or…?
>>4488175>That's obviously bullshit given that Bokita and ChisaTaki are the hottest couples of the last couple of years. You don't know with how many poeple I had arge about Bokita because they tought that there was nothing here because aparently a girl that has fantasies with having gilrfriends getting jealous when her most close friend a (girl) gets a boyfriend (thatwas a misunderstanding, btw) and trying to surpass that boyfriend isn't enough. With ChisaTaki, I still remember all people who complained about not having a kiss, neither a confession when LycoReco ended.Same thing hapenned with Jellyfish, we actually had a kiss and still complained saying that "it was bait all along" becayse there was no confession.I know that not everyone is like that, but I felt like in the past there was not so many people.
