I somehow missed this show when it was airing but as somebody that specifically likes yuri between flat/young/loli girls, how yuri is this? I'm okay with subtext as long as there's no incidents of them crushing on guys. Are there any other pairings besides the main two? I'll probably at least give the first few episodes of the first season a shot but I just don't want to get too far into it and then have something bad happen.

The relationship between the girls and their coach is extremely important to both characters. That doesn't mean it's romantic, but the Hetfags lack logic. The relationship between the two girls is less prominent than you might expect or than people might lead you to believe.Expect anything in the end; this is one of those cases where people shouldn't expect what hasn't been promised to them.

But if there's stuff like wanting to marry them or constantly calling them hot then that's pushing it too much. It's not a romance series and I'm not expecting kisses or anything "official", just some nice moments here or there between the girls. Light subtext is fine with me.
