Because unlike Honeymaren's 3 scenes, the main villain is going to be front and center constantly and antagonizing the sisters and actually have meaningful tension with Elsa because they are fighting against each other.

Elsanna was a decent sized ship in the 2010s but it's tiny compared to modern fandom scale. The entire idea of fandom has gone from niche weird thing on tumblr to shit Gen Z and Alphies live and breath and the older shipping and fandom people have only grown more numerous over the decades. There's a reason that the entire body of Gelphie's existing (broadway and novel inspired) fan work was unseated within like a week of the Wicked movie releasing by new ArianaCynthia Gelphie stuff. FotM is enough in this day and age to unseat longstanding ships if they aren't operating on the level of shit like Supercorp/Swan Queen/Clexa, and Elsa and Anna, because of the incest, have always been relatively contained as a ship.

Fionna's reality is everyone rule 63'd so the Bubbline there (Marshal Lee and Prince Gumball/Gary Prince) are guys in a homofag yaoi relationship. There isn't any deeper connection beyond that or actual one sex to the other genderbending, and the new show is "Bubblegum & Marceline" so it'll almost certainly just be about the main universe PB and Marcy.
