I found a band called NEK! whose singer/guitarist looks just like Ran, and she used to have a red streak in her hair, too. She even plays a Les Paul clone and they play a similar brand of punk/surf rock as Afterglow. Crazy stuff.

Minetsuki: My first impression of Ritsu in the anime was, "Maybe she's a cool, quiet girl who harbors some darkness." The part where we're similar is that we both eat a lot, so I feel that was reflected. Also, Ritsu's dark atmosphere is very similar to my past self. I used to compare myself to others and was told I "had no individuality," so when Viola says those things to Ritsu, it felt like she was talking about me; I was getting hurt right along with Ritsu.
