Extending things in perpetuity is not really the sensible business decision. Even with popular shounenshit, the moment readerships tapers the axe starts looming. The manga had clearly run out of steam a long time ago and the author is working in other projects. There is no point in keeping it running. Five volumes is a good run for a story like this.
