It doesn't feel like a janky hack job at all, it's competent, the game's mechanics all work together and how you would expect them to in multiplayer.It has proximity voice chat but I had it disabled for this session. I like how your text chats are actually spoken by your Expie. And I like even more how your text chats are affected by if you're holding something in your mouth, if you have brain damage, or are underwater. It's the little details like that that make it feel properly integrated into the game.The co-operative health minigames are cool. Taking care of your fellow Experiments is cool. Working together to save their lives and bringing them back from the brink of death is really cool. Ganging up on crawlers and stunlocking and tearing the fuck out of them until they explode into blood is fun.Perhaps the only thing I felt like I had issues with was feeding other players. In my limited experience the only way to do so is to drop the item, then drag it onto the player, then drag it onto "Feed" in the menu that pops up. The real problem is when the area is crowded with other players and it can become quite difficult to feed the right player. Also picking stuff up from the ground when the area is crowded with players is difficult because attempting to drag the item into a slot will make the mod think you're trying to drag it onto a player. Such as when you're all crammed into a drop pod.We had desync issues but I believe those can be remedied if the host uses the "syncreset" console command regularly, such as after every layer change. After I was informed about the command and tried it our item desync problems were solved.The simple novelty of not being alone in the death caves is very cool and fun to experienceA full multi-hour 5-layer run is still exhausting, but still fun

I have too little experience to say exactly when or how often, but I think once a layer perhaps just after progressing and loading into a new layer when everyone is all standing around is good.• "MetabolismMultiplier" I would suggest lowering this slightly the more players there are. The default 0.8 seems good for 2 or 3 players, but more players than that and I think I'll decrease it by 0.1 or two points.And other settings could be fun to experiment with, like how quickly players heal or gain XP.

First time making it to the desert. Had issues with body weight all through layer 2 (despite feeling like I fed myself pretty well in layer 1) that made it difficult to move (due to weight) and eventually resulting in heart failure...until last stand activated. things got better but my mental impairment from being unconscious did mental impairment things. I started rushing downwards eating everything I could trying to pack on the pounds. desert was ok for a while until *beep* got merc'd by a turret and took a nasty fall. Only my foot was bleeding, which I probably good have treated, but a red thing started attacking me and I fumbled too long to get the machete out of my belt. things can really spiral out of control in a short amount of time
