When was the last time a game instilled in you the sense of adventure?
>>739321212hey that's Whiterun
>>739321370That's like 10 entire Whiteruns. Also to answer the OP, Subnautica 1.
>>739321212Dark age of camelot. Yes, it's been a while.
>>739321212RDR2 back in christmas 2019
>>739321212Wow I really had to think about this. Maybe Subnautica 1.
>>739321212crimson desert, before that DD2
>>739321212What do they eat?
>>739322386>crimson desert, before that DD2I haven't been able to get a straight answer from anyone, but if I really enjoyed Dragons Dogma, would I enjoy Crimson Desert? Is it similar?
The Bubsy 4D demo
>>739321212Conan ExilesHelps if you know the lore since the game itself is pretty non-story non-dialogue.
Dark Souls 2, what a kinotastic game it is...
Microsoft Flight Simulator.
>>739321212Elden ringKCDMorriwind
>>739322770the story and quests are dogshit but combat and exploration is fun. its a very different vibe from DD. you are on your own for most of the time
>>739321212E33
>>739322770Maybe one can argue that vibes are kind of similar but they very different technically
>>739322982Do you ever watch Gladiator Movies anon?
>>739323107I saw the first one with Russel Crowe when it was new, but not since then.
Tamriel Rebuilt, before that: Dragon's Dogma. I felt it until I got the horse in Elden Ring as well
>>739321949Never played it at that time, but heard it was truly one of a kind.
>>739321212Enshrouded, couple months ago.
>>739323020>>739323087>combat and exploration are fun>similar vibeGood enough for me, thanks. Any DD threads and Crimson Desert threads have been impossible to get a straight answer in.
>>739321212RDR2 then Elden RIng, and in retrospect RDR2 adventure was better
>>739324202Crimson Desert is what DD would be if it was made by Nintendo to be more akin to BOTW.The world is alive, bright and colourful and the NPCs feel more like RDRs NPCs.The quests are>"I have a problem with bears eating my cattle and the Marque can't stand when I'm behind on taxes">Map marker added>0/5 Bears killedAnd then you spend 3 hours killing the bears because you get sidetracked literally 10 seconds every time you decide on a goal. It's great but don't expect on getting emotionally invested. Also, the puzzles don't hold your hand and you can EASILY miss secret rooms etc. so that's a huge plus in my book.
>>739321212elden ring
>>739321212honestly probably dragons dogma 1>still no 3d rpg with a big open world, camping with your party, and super large caves/deep dungeons that you need to camp inside to reach the bottomthis shit is so ass
>>739321212Crimson Desert, so like a few days ago.
>>739325078dungeon meshi game when?
>>739321212I can't even remember the last time I went "damn I can't wait to go home to play X".
>>739322982anon do you ever hang out in front of a gymnasium
>>739321212>bleak gray shitmoundReally makes me wanna adventure (the fuck away from there)
>>739325148Not soon enough. The closest we got was Dragon's Crown.
>>739324592>It's great but don't expect on getting emotionally invested.Weirdly the less "story" a fantasy game tends to have, the more emotionally invested I tend to get. I have thousands of hours in DD and it has nothing to do with the story or characters. It has a great setup and premise, but between the beginning and end I couldn't care less as to where i'm going or why, I just like the moment to moment exploration and combat.
>>739321212Kingdom come deliverance 1 on launch
OP picture and text has been reposted since 2018. why the fuck do i still come to this dead bot site.

>>739325078>3d rpg with a big open world, camping with your partyFF15 too bad everything besides roadtrip with the bros, visiting remote settlements and doing hunts was ass.
>>739325739Even with all its faults, that game did give me a great sense of wanderlust

>>739321212Divinity Original Sin 2. There’s literally something to do everywhere you look.
>>739325651Joey, have you ever been in a... in a Turkish prison?
>>739325596I really enjoyed this game, especially the underwater part

>>739321565I spent $1000 on this
>>739329940You got any other recommendations for RPGs to get lost in?
>>739330532idk about RPG cuz most open worlds do it for me from RDR2 and Elden Ring to Death Stranding. I think the getting lost part depends on you not the game. Witcher 3 and Risen 1 are worth a shot. E33 also did that for me
>>739321212outer wilds
>>739330719Elden Ring is cool but it's too difficult for a retard like me to get lost in it. I should try Witcher 3 though.
cyberpunk 2077
>>739330532Unreal Tournament 2004.
>>739321212Xenoblade 2.
>>739321212botw
>>739321212Can't really recall. I'm often not fond of free roam open world games because the end result is just you walking for ages which isn't that fun and not actually doing anything because the devs didn't make enough content for you to wander the edge of the map, but on the other hand if it's not that type of game specifically then I feel pushed to do the game objective or story rather than actually going out into the wild or whatever that I feel is a requirement of that 'adventure' feeling.
>>739329821the same reason they dont implement flags or post ids, this is a spam board for third world advertisers and a discussion board secon
>>739321212Morrowind (first playthrough only)Crimson DesertBotw/TotkBellwrightASKAnowdays its mostly open world survival crafting games that give me that feel, never liked these games before, but they are currently the only type of games i play
>>739325148Dungeon Meshi is basically just wizardry: the anime.
>>739321212Its happening right now with Elden Ring lol. Im having a massive nlast woth this game. Theres just so kuch in it
BG3 but no game really has a good feeling of adventure.
>>739321212FUEL.

>>739324202>looks for straight answers on the gayest place on the internet
>>739321212Heavensward. It faded quickly, but it was there for a bit.
>>739321212A day ago. Then i had to uninstall it cause it kept crashing.
>>739321212Outward, Phantasy Star Online 1, Wizardry Online, Black Desert Online near launch, Archeage alpha/beta, World of Warcraft, Wizardry 8
>>739322770there is no straight answer. they're not hugely similar but there is overlap. if it counts for anything DD and CD are both in my favorites of all time
>>739334543this nigga lived a good life
>>739321212the first 50 or so hours of Elden Ring gave me that feeling more than I anticipated. then it quickly turned into just another game, but still a very good one.I had a different experience with BOTW. initially it wowed me more than ER, but then it fell off much steeper and I would never even consider replaying any part of it, whereas in ER I started a second run before my first was even finished, and I did finish that first run. I never even went to Ganon's castle in BOTW. everything just seems arbitrary and pointless in that game once you've upgraded Link quite far and seen all the biomes. it's a neat sandbox but that's where the fun begins and ends. it's like a collection of toys and when you've played with each one there's no reason to keep going. ER feels like climbing a ladder and it's worth climbing all the way to the top.
>>739334543any hopes for Outward 2?

>>739334867>any hopes for Outward 2?nta, but I hope they know how fucking jank and shit their most recent trailer on the Steam page made it look.I love Outward, but man it's like they went out of their way to make the new game look terrible and I hate to admit it, but it really doesn't look like an improvement at all and might even be somehow even jankier and more cumbersome than the original and the "potato" mode trailer was even more ton deaf. They really need to hire someone decent to do their trailers and marketing and pull that shit asap.
>>739330532his picrel>>739325596eurojank is an insult not a compliment

>>739341134I mean polish as in sausage, not polish as in Lemon Pledge.
>>739341220not polish as in polishing your car?
>>739322770What it has in common with DD is that the action combat is really fun. It's not boring like Skyrim or KCD.
>>739321212Unironically, Breath of the Wild. The best decision I ever did was going into it mostly blind, intentionally not rewatching the trailers to not over hype it. And talking to all the characters and gathering all their info exploring everything was super satisfying. For example, in Hateno there’s a lady who sits near a sheikah torch and she tells you she’s from a village from the south past lake hylia. So I made it a journey to table across lake hylia, and discovering the rain forest biome, going through that finding some NPCs that said a village was up head, and eventually I got to Lurelin Village that is a completely optional area but just stuck to me. It wasn’t a map marker revealing a village there, it was NPCs talking about the world and me making my own journey. Only thing I with BotW had were the caverns/tunnels/wells that TotK added. I like cave exploration (Depths were a bit too much)
>>739321212I'm pretty sure you could say any of the Zelda games, but A Link to the Past is the one that resonated the most with me.
>>739335381>Big adventures famously never any moments of silence or long stretches of just traveling
>>739340093Why does it look bad?
I played through Enderal in January 2021 while i spent two weeks in quarantine traveling to New Zealand. Basically wasn't allowed outside for 14 days straight in so in some shitty hotel in Auckland so i played through this and it absolutely blew me away. It's basically a Skyrim overhaul mod but the premise, dialogue, world building and exploration blow Skyrim out of the water. Highly recommend if anyone itt hasn't played it
>>739321212E33 and Wukong
>>739323020whats with the weird stuttering?
>>739321212This might be a bit of a weird one, but if we're talking the most recent game to do that, it's unironically pic related. Literally just stacking books, but it somehow managed to tickle those right parts of the brain. The in-game books are really quite beautifully designed which helped add to the immersion.

>>739344432I dropped this after reaching the underground city. it looks cool but i think im severely underleveled because the skeletons there killed me in like 3 hits. is it worth pushing through?

>>739321212The phrase "sense of adventure" is starting to bother me. There is a sense in which videogames are like the murals of the Savannah on the walls inside zoo enclosures.
