as for destiny 2, I wanted to return to Destiny 2 after a few years of not playing it.It turned out I couldn't play the main campaign to refresh my memory and familiarize myself with the game's mechanics. Character I created had a Power or Equipment level—I don't remember exactly what it was—much higher than the Power level of the heroes I played in the base game. These heroes were maxed out with good equipment at the time, and they were inferior to a level 1 hero upon returning. Why not just allow download base content and let new player play it in order instead of that bullshit.
