The only game legendary enough to take out GTA 6. The king will go back on his throne at the game awards
I've got a bad feeling it'll be a FF7R situation
>>739340178It will be the first GOTY contender that I’ve cared about in a long time.
>>739340178>modern day nintendo>making a game blatantly praising masculinity and the importance of itsimply won't be allowed to happen.
>>739340178Nah, it will be cucked like totk, bananza and animal crossing. They want either a deep narrative or in the case of 2024 something that doesn’t suck.
you underestimate how easy it is for Nintendo to fumble what should be a slam dunk
GTA will take itself out
>>739340474>a game blatantly praising masculinity and the importance of itthe hell are you talking about
>>739340365>get to the master sword>suddenly timejannies show up
OP the majority of outlets that vote for the game awards are ultra turbo mega normie places that barely even care about video games like NPR. They will all vote for GTA6 as its the le big huge game. There is zero chance of anything else winning.
>>739340365Isn't it just going to be a 1:1 remake like the Star Fox remake? I don't expect any big changes.
>>739340178Look what they just did to Star Fox 64. An OoT remake will be the biggest humiliation ritual.
>>739340526>the zonai in totk had time travel tech and are now an established part of the lore>you even send the master sword back in time in totk because rauru needed itfuck this is gonna happen, isn't it?
Why would anybody want this? OoT 3DS is about as good as it gets if you aren't autistic about a few minor lighting changes in some cutscenes. They have no incentive to make a better remake if they want to continue selling eshop copies of OoT64. This is why everyone makes "demakes" now. They know cultists will still buy it for little effort, while they can still make more remakes or ports in the future.
>>739340474>wahhh, look at me, I'm a victim of feminism! waaahh
>>739340653Issue is that this kinda negates the threat that ganondorf would pose. With ff7 sephiroth is the one fucking people with time shit, but the zonai are purely good guys, the plot wraps up in an hour.
>>739340653>modern zelda furry contamination SHUT UPSHUT UPSHUT UP
>>739340507>>739340807are you stupid? each and every sage (mostly female), praises link's masculinity and his heroic deeds as a man. first, rauru talks to link about his ascent to manhood and his responsibility as an adult. this is reflected in the dungeons. the child dungeons are classic childhood fantasy dungeons, culminating in a literal "belly of the whale" scenario. impa recognizes link's potential immediately, and goes over his duty as a man to protect the princess, the world's most classic trope. nabooru cover all the "toxic masculinity" ganondorf embodies, while link is the total opposite. ruto has a crush on link, says he has to marry her, and praises his heroic deeds as one of the primary reasons he's "earned" marriage to her. saria is the childhood link can't ever return to, as all he can do is go with the flow of time. darunia is pure masculine bond. darunia doesn't see link for 7 years, then immediately calls him brother, his sworn brother. i wish you fucking morons could read.
>>739341594>picI CAST...UNREAL ENGINE REMAKE!!!
>>739340365Nintendo is extremely conservative with its remakes. See the Mario RPG. There is no way they do some retarded plot-ghost, multiverse, fateslop.
>>739341594You're right chatgpt, all that stuff will definitely be smoothed out with more gender neutral dialogue
>>739340178OOT was great for its time.doesnt hold up in modern day.
>>739340178I like OoT, but I want new games.
>>739341864>gork, please sum up the story of ocarina of time because i can't understand storytelling
>>739340178A Japanese video game will never win the game awards unless every single Western AAA game slopped n' flopped, or it's Fromsoft. BotW won 2017 because its only competition was fucking Horizon Zero Dawn.
>>739340178Wasn’t there an earnings call with Take Two today? Wondering if GTA6 is still on schedule. >>739340365Depends on who is doing the remake and how. Remember that A Link Between Worlds was a sequel/reimagining of ALTTP. It was called Triforce of the Gods 2.There’s heavy speculation that Monolith Soft is behind this. They’ve been in full PR mode highlighting all their contributions to Zelda games on their Recruit site. The moment the interviews went up in April this year, they finally removed the Zelda game recruitment ad (picrel) that was there since 2019.Prior to that, in December was a different interview where the Nintendo guy Iwamoto said he’d like to see Monolith take charge with a Zelda project from the onset. They’re doing something.
>>739341869I just want the same game rereleased forever
>>739340178PLEASE LINKILL SUCK YOUR FUCKING DICKYOU WANT ME TO EAT YOUR SHIT?!?!?ILL EAT YOUR SHITTTTTT!!!!!
If I buy the OoT remake, will Nintendo make a new classic 3D Zelda?
>>739340178>The king will go back on his throne at the game awards...As yet another bastardized version of itself.
>>739342451No, they'll just keep repackaging OOT forever because they know you'll buy it
>>739340178dont we already have OoT 3D?seems kind of redundant.
>>739342451>classic>3d>zeldaNo such thing ever existed.OoT was already babyfied moviedslop zelda

>>739340595I think Nintendo HQ knows if they don't do exactly this, exactly 1:1 with no dialogue, asset placement, or whatever modified from its original form, there's going to be massive, massive, backlash. You don't change what's considered to be one of, if not THE, greatest game of all time if you know what's good for you.
>>739342882Cant wait until OoT and Chrono Shitter get a remake so people finally realize they are dogshit

>>739340365FFVII cuckolds fucking wish this was the case. OOT vs FFVII has been one of the most heated Onions filled millennial debates and those who fought for FFVII back in the day are praying Nintendo goes full retard
>>739343013>>739343067>>739343669cringe
>>739340178They better change the ever living shit out it, I am so tired of the original it's not even funny lol.
>>739340365That is like a best case for me. I'm fearing a Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy of some kind. The exact same game but more soulless and feels like it was made without reverence for its original tone.
>>739340478Deep narrative will be what sets original OoT fans apart from its new audience. I can live with changes and even BotW-lite elements added, but the story is the thing that makes OoT an incredible Zelda game to me. The way everything is about time and coming of age, and the way the music underscores it. I have a feeling the OST will be fantastic, but once they do the "story treatment" they'll completely miss the point of the tone the original had especially if they decide to add twice the amount of dialogue as it used to have.
>I-I don't want an OoT Remake to actually be OoT anyway!!!You faggots had 13 years of distinctly not-OoT experiences. Shut the fuck up. FF7R has caused unspeakable brain damage when it comes to remakes.
>>739340178Awarding remakes in a creatively bankrupt industry is a quick way to kill the industry even faster. I don't even like GTA, but at the very least don't give it to a remake.>>739340595I know what you mean but1:1 means the same game again, not even the 3DS remaster was 1:1OoT is not perfect and Kokiri Forest tutorial section doesn't make sense nowadays(it's also a fucking slog), since they did that section to get players to understand 3D controls before venturing out in Hyrule FieldUnironically the Kokiri section(if it's present or not) should tell us a more how ambitious Nintendo is going for this remake and how many changes are they willing to make.
>>739345335>Kokiri Forest is a slogNigger what? It's by far the most expedient tutorial of the 3D games, even if you include the Deku Tree.
>>739342213nintendo has you covered with the new starfox game
>>739345704It's useless nowadays, you can teach the same thing in 30 seconds or less with a loading screen tip, I don't consider Deku Tree part of the tutorial anymore
>>739340178The cool kids are already playing Ship of Harkinian.
>>739346010>has no regard for the narrative reasons to get a sword and shield, or the significance of the Kokiri Sword being a hidden treasure that you have to resort to borrowing>you just want them in your hands immediatelyAnon, if we were talking about something like Twilight Princess, I'd agree that there's fat to be trimmed. But beyond skippable cinematics (which would be a given for a remake), I really don't know what more you need cut down before going into the Deku Tree unless you just view games as obligations to blow through that need to respect your desire to cynically become a part of conversations ASAP.
>>739341594You make a good point. Also, its crazy to me discourse has gotten to the point where one can try and undermine an intelligent argument/discussion by calling the opposition chat gpt/some other ai slop and there's no pushback for it.
>>739340365Split into three where there a ton of changes that don't come to anything until the end so they can still follow most of the old story.
I'm all for changes that don't compromise the story, artistic, or core design philosophies of OoT. For instance, I'd support a total redesign of the Lost Woods to be more "organically" woods-like (i.e. not so grid/cell-like) and having a completely different order to get to the Sacred Forest Meadow, just to playfully fuck with people who want to try coasting off of their OG experience on their first Remake playthrough. You could to this sort of thing with a bunch of dungeon puzzles too, I'd reckon.
>>739347734You talk like a fag and your shits retarded.
>>739340178i really hope this actually exists and they don't just completely phone it in, it has the potential to be truly amazing
what can you realisticly do aside from a graphical update? the 3ds version already did that and also implented any reasonable qol's changes like the quick swap and its about as a perfect remake it can be
>>739340365I would like if they added cut content, but WWHD and TPHD shows that they're allergic to doing anything more than surface level changes.I actually wonder what newer generations will think of the game if they do a 1:1 recreation just with better graphics, which is what I expect it to be.It gets glazed as one of the best games ever made, but the series has evolved a lot over the decades and a lot of people have only played botw and totk.Older people that played it back in the day will continue to glaze it, but if it really is just a graphical upgrade, I don't think newer players are going to hold it in nearly as high regard.
>>739340365Another goty and shows how outdated older games are?Based
>>739340178>Eldenring for 3yo
>>739342882>I think Nintendo HQ knows if they don't do exactly this, exactly 1:1 with no dialogue, asset placement, or whatever modified from its original form, there's going to be massive, massive, backlash. They were always very aware of this, hence the 3DS remake being fairly conservative. This time though I feel like they'll want to take way more liberties this time around. OoT is the most highly regarded game ever, but this is on spite of the significant room for improvement it actually has. There's a hell of a lot of shit the game does that it barely takes advantage of (like combat depth, room for the field to be used more, NPC interaction related to time travel etc.), and so its in this highly auspicious situation of both being the best, and yet being outright flawed in ways that would allow close to absolute improvement over the original game if handled right. I feel that Nintendo are aware of what they have to take advantage of and just how they can upsell it. It can be both a return to form for more structured and story focused Zelda, while also being highly freeform, exploration focused and full of creative, alternate means of doing things.
>>739345704>>739346010The best thing they could so for the intro section is to give you more shit to do immediately via exploring and fucking around in the woods. You should be able to get a full new heart piece before even finishing the Deku Tree.
>>739340178Do you think a remake who re-invigorate the speed run community for this game? It's been dead every seen they discovered you can spin in a circle and warp to the credits
>>739340178I'm surprised no one has said they'd prefer a third hero of time game.If we're going back to OoT, might as well make a reimagining with the cut content from Ura and older builds like the light temple or beta lost woods with the octorocks.
>>739340697OoT isn't for sale on Switch 2 it's a rental game part of the online subscription like all classic games.
>>739340697>if you aren't autistic about a few minor lighting changes in some cutscenesIt's way more than that. The tone of the light/colors is completely different in general and it fucks up how much darkness there is in the game in general, and can't properly portray the night in the same way etc. It also has far weaker animations and all kinds of nonsense like telling you what the hookshot will latch onto; a new remake is absolutely justified, especially to take advantage of what the Switch 2 can actually do.
>>739350826I'm not very informed on speed running stuff, but don't people run a modified any percent now or something because of that shit?Turns out even the sweatiest tryhards prefer actually playing the game instead of learning how to reprogram the game through vague and arcane controller bullshit just to put the game in the credits roll so they can technically say they "beat" the game.Go figure.
>>739340178>playing anything but the PC port
>>739350169>what can you realisticly do aside from a graphical update?Add entirely new 'layers' to the game that exist alongside it, while not disturbing the existing game structure too much. You could add a whole explorable sacred realm + Light Temple that you discover different ways of accessing as an adult, which is largely optional, but which opens up as you progress and do various sidequests that weren't in the original game, or which (like the ice/fire arrows) only served a limited purpose. MM had a ton of "you don't *need* to do this to finish the game, but it will affect how it ends" stuff, and OoT could be made to have this kind of thing to.
>>739350367Elden Ring is so lacking in sovl compared to OoT it's not funny. So much of the world is clearly copy pasted assets, compared to curated and literally musical OoT is.
The worst part of an OoT remake is the wait for the eventual MM remake
Ideally>Hyrule Field revamped, not necessarily BotW-ified, but made into something of more substance with more meaningful content beyond the ranch and the very odd thing here or there>Certain basic 3D mechanics streamlined like targeting without having a character make a big deal out of it (ie. targeting), or at the very least evolve the mechanic so that you have a more extreme utility of it, add new mechanics that do justify tutorials>Story expanded, utilizes cut content and ideas>Playable Sheik content, possibly like an unlockable story mode that plays from Zelda's perspective>Also Master QuestYou know, a FF7R situation probably isn't that bad. Basic ass OoT has been done, even OoT 3D was super faithful and people still despise it based on the lighting of the Ganon fight alone.
Nah, OoT will be well received, but it won't do any good in the face of multiplayer slop. Online gaming has evolved gaming in a different direction. Good or bad, the number of gamers have increased greatly since '98, but the percentage interested in good single player experiences has shrunk.
>>739343036this makes me hate nintendo so much lolimagine taking level design ideas from a company making shallow as fuck single player MMOsand seeing how shitty botw's level design was, imagine if they didn't. what the hell are those mongoloids doing?
>>739352118>3D mechanics streamlined like targeting without having a character make a big deal out of it (ie. targeting)This is a bad idea. The way Navi is actively incorporated into the targeting make a ton more sense compared to modern games where targeting is abstracted in ways that make it unclear what you would be targeting until you press the button for that.
>>739352118i dread sheik. i know theyre going to do some troon shit with it and not just let it be zelda in a costume.aside from that, id rather have impa gameplay. playing as impa as your fight your way out of castletown and run away from ganondorf while protecting zelda would be WAY better
>>739350230Man, imagine you get towards end of the game to meet Zelda at the Temple of Time, thinking everything is going to play out the same and you’ll get the Light Arrows, but then realize you have to take on the Light Temple to earn them.Or even better a post game dungeon in the Sacred Realm to get the Triforce, or getting to play an extended version of the Majoara’s Mask prologue.
>>739351902>Elden Ring is so lacking in sovl compared to OoT it's not funny. So much of the world is clearly copy pasted assets, compared to curated and literally musical OoT is.Elden ring is overrated as fuck. Lets role play for a minute. Imagine if Nintendo went to the Zelda team and said "Ok guys lets make the next Zelda like Elden Ring. You don't have to develop or code any towns or dynamic NPCs. Physics engine you can throw that out. You don't have to have any interactivity beyond one scripted elevator lever throughout the whole game, dynamic weather that effects gameplay ignore that, um traversal options? Yea just add a horse and that's it, good enough, Unique innovative mechanics? Na fuck that" I honestly think the Zelda team would fucking think its a cake walk. They could make that shit in a fucking year. However gamers are so easily manipulated but spectacle boss fights and the same combat that's been done for 15 years.
theyre going to add the unicorn fountain and im going to CRINGE
>>739352303>Good or bad, the number of gamers have increased greatly since '98, but the percentage interested in good single player experiences has shrunk.I understand what your saying but you cant say that. BOTW sold over 30 million, games like elden ring, red dead etc show many love single player games even if its few and far between the ones that get massive sales.
>>739351740This, expanding the original map isn't gonna cut it without changing the flow of the game. Adding a 'dark world' version of the game gives you something new to do after the main campaign. Either a dark world or an Ocarina of Time version of Lorule.
>>739350230Didn't WWHD actually cut content instead of add it
>>739352580>Yea just add a horse and that's itIt's funnier given that your horse is just capable of regular platforming, like it's a human that happens to have four legs. None of the "jumping at speed" that Zelda has.
>>739352580kinda funny considering ER is still better than BOTW was lol
>whole beginning of the game looks basically exactly the same>minor changes here and there in dialogue, or prop placement>graphics are just more "HD">the owl spins his head around even more>he starts going crazy with the head spin, it's like a cyclone>link starts screaming>"Link, Wake up!">"You had a bad dream">Link awakens to the actual start of the game, it's a complete remake ala FF7RKINO
>>739352303Lmao look at this doofus
>>739340178Love this game. But it does not need a remake. Why are people so hyped about this? Its not going to go well.
Spirit Temple is the best dungeon.
>>739340178I got Ship of Harkinian. I don't need to give a fuck about Nintendo ever again.
>>739352767>kinda funny considering ER is still better than BOTW was lolBOTW has better reviews, better sales and better legacy. So no
>>739353147>better legacyThe fuck does this even mean. You Zelda fans just love to use buzzwords to glaze your balls.
>>739353147BOTW peaks harder than Elden Ring does, but ER is more consistently good due to having more meaningful resource constraints to overcome.
>>739353147Lmao, TotK is not look upon favorably, and as BotW ages more and more people will recognize it for the empty slop that it is. Open world is a meme that is going to die some day.
>>739353147buzzwords, ER will sell more than BOTW too. keep in mind it's not nearly as old.>>739353227what peak? both of them are kinda shitty games but at least ER was kinda cool with the dragons and castles.
>>739353407>what peak?Eventide
>>739353431was that the island where you lose your stuff?I rolled my eyes
>>739352654I believe they made getting the triforce pieces less work to get?But let's be honest, nobody likes that phase of the game anyway. The triforce hunt is a bandaid to the massive amount of cut content to extend game time, and people rightfully called it out for the bullshit it is.They *really* should have taken the opportunity with WWHD to add in more content, but apparently the REAL reason they thought the original game bombed is because of the lack of bloom. And then it bombed again.
>>739342882don't underestimate tendie bootlickers.
>>739354550you only need 3 pieces and they added the fast sail that lets you saild at doubled speed
>a "goty" for modern tendies will be a corporate modern demake of an old-ass zelda game that already had a souless demake on the 3dsPffft pathetic. And besides, I thought tendies hated "OOTsnoys"?
>>739356806>OOTsnoysThat's just one very special boy trying to spout this nonsense.
>>739356806its literally just famitsu schizos spouting that nonsense because they cant comprehend why someone wouldnt like newer nintendo games.
>>739353287>people will recognize it for the empty slop that it is. Open world is a meme that is going to die some day.funny you can say this and not realise it applies to Elden Ring too
>>739353147>better legacyLmao the only "legacy" it will have in the future will be people scratching their heads and wondering why Nintendo slapping their label and Zelda brand onto poorly designed ubislop made people cream their pants
>>739340178Why do you think it'd win? OoT's aged a considerable amount, and the only reason it's the "highest rated game ever!!" is because it only got like, 20 critic reviews. It would never maintain that consistency with the 150+ reviews Zelda games receive today.A more apt example would be to use OoT 3DS since it's a strict improvement, and it's rated appropriately lower given the standards of 2011. OoT Remake would likely receive an even lower score given the standards of 2026.
>>739357074It landed at 89 when it was re-reviewed on Wii Virtual Console. But I don't think it has aged at all, and I think people like you have a different perception of what it is that made OoT amazing, because you're solely judging it by a "Content & Slop" metric circa 1998. And you'd be correct. It WAS pretty impressive in terms of its content and slop for a 98 game, but the reason why it elevates as a hallmark experience has more to do with the vibe you get out of the game, and the way it sinks its hooks into you over time, and how you feel a while after you've finished it and let it sink in.
>Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and now Twilight Princess have PC ports now that allow me to play through the actual games with the QoL that comes with playing them natively on PC >I'm supposed to clap and soiface because OoT is getting ANOTHER modern demake for modern tendiesNah I'm good
>>739347734(You)r "argument" is childish by virtue of being nothing more than a hypothetical scenario in your head, the contents of which accurately reflect your pathetic insecurities; a pessimist who chooses to stress himself over the demons in his head.
>>739356997Why wouldn't I think it doesn't apply to Elden Ring too? Care to explain?
>tendies contractually forced to praise and defend a remake of OoT after hating on so-called ootsnoys for decades out of contractual obligations to defend vote/totk
