>Saix acts like a moody ex girlfriend>Actually Saix was doing all this Skuld the whole timeWhat was Nomura thinking?
>>739343202>SkuldWe don't know that but I hope it's true.
With ML cancelled and Nomura probably leaving after KH4 releases, I wonder if we'll ever know what happened to Skuld and Ava.
Speaking of Skuld, is the point of the Dandelions from supposed to for us to assume they are all still out there in the current timeline?
>>739343758I think Luxu told us what happened to her, she fulfilled her mission and probably is dead. >SkuldI doubt she's going to not stay relevant, I'm not sure ML was going to be big lore wise since it was being advertised as a forgotten age.
>>739343202I don't think it's skuld, xehanort's mother looks remarkably similar to skuld and is probably her descendent
If Skuld is indeed Subject X, it retroactively explains a massive design detail: Xion. Vexen spearheaded the Replica Program using the experiments done on Subject X. If Skuld was the physical baseline for the replicas, it perfectly explains why Xion (a replica meant to absorb Sora's memories of Kairi) ended up with black hair. She is a composite of Kairi's face and Skuld's dark-haired features.Regarding Ava, given that she was the only Foreteller who did not answer Luxu's summons at the end of KH3, and Luxu implies she "fulfilled her mission," she is the biggest wild card left on the board. If she isn't Subject X, she might be one of the few ancient masters actively working against the Master of Masters in the new saga.Because Missing-Link was cancelled, Square Enix cannot just leave that lore hanging. It is highly probable that Kingdom Hearts IV will have to absorb the most critical story beats of that dead game. We might see the fate of the Dandelions and the truth of Xehanort's bloodline revealed through flashbacks, or perhaps the "fictional" world of Quadratum will be used as a dumping ground for displaced ancient Keyblade wielders.
>>739343202Saix is a fun character. He's the most hateable motherfucker in the Org because he's your shitty manager in Days but that just makes kicking his ass all the sweeter.
Speaking of Skuld and the Replica Program, when Yozora fights Sora in the ReMind DLC, he explicitly states, "This isn't what I really look like." We know Vexen's Replica Program was originally built off Subject X's ancient data. What if the high-tech, hyper-realistic world of Quadratum uses a significantly more advanced version of that technology? Yozora could be a displaced soul, perhaps even an ancient Keyblade wielder, trapped inside a biomechanical Replica or digital avatar designed for Verum Rex. It perfectly mirrors Nomura's obsession with characters suffering from stolen identities and missing bodies.
>>739343793>is the point of the Dandelions from supposed to for us to assume they are
>>739343793The fate of the Dandelions was shown in the Union Cross ending. When Data Daybreak Town collapsed and shut down, they were under threat of death. So their Chirithys devoured their hearts and transformed into various Dream Eaters to protect them. The implication is all the Dream Eaters in DDD are actually the Dandelions, helping Sora out in their sleep.
>>739345742I will forever lament that Days never got a remake on a device where the camera doesn't hate you, and makes certain bosses less shitty.
>>739346263>The implication is all the Dream Eaters in DDD are actually the Dandelions, helping Sora out in their sleep. My Tyranto Rex was even more based than I thought desu. I remember that part of Uχ. Gave their theme a kind of creepy background because it's a bunch of essentially dead kids singing for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL8AsIRpYJg
>>739346505You'd be furious if you learned they did begin work on remaking days in the collection but gave up because it would have taken too long.
>>739346568>>739346263You're close, but slightly off regarding the Dandelions. The Dandelions themselves did not physically transform into Dream Eaters. According to the established lore of the Union X finale, when Data Daybreak Town collapsed, the Dandelions' Chirithy companions changed into the Spirit Dream Eater forms seen in DDD and absorbed the wielders' sleeping hearts into their pouches to protect them. The Dandelions are in a state of stasis, not strictly dead.
>>739346643I didn't ask you, ChatGPT.
>>739346702I'm not ChatGPT, just telling you what happened.
>>739345898I'd assume Yozora is more of a Riku during KH2 situation where his appearance is being messed with by some interference.
>>739346732>I'm not ChatGPT
>>739345898>>739346803He’s basically Noctis. Nomura isn’t being subtle, Yozora is just Nomura venting about Versus XIII, saying Yozora needed a new body because Tabata took his original one. Meanwhile, the Nameless Star is the original “Stella,” who was meant to be Noctis’s rival and love interest.
By the way, I’m pretty sure Subject X is Skuld, not Ava, but I’m still thrown off by the frustrating tease that Xehanort’s mom looks like Skuld.Given that Missing-Link was supposed to give us the definitive answers on these bloodlines and the ancient era shenanigans in general before its cancellation in 2025, we are now flying blind into the next saga. I don't know how Nomura is going to tie all this up without making KH IV feeling convoluted for new players.
>>739346263Then why are Ventus, Marluxia and Larxene dandelions and why is Strelitzia in KH4
>>739345742>most hateable motherfucker in the OrgI figured that title would go to Axel for being a gigantic psycho dickbag only for him to become a good guy for no reason
>>739343202>>739345742you can't take men that look like this seriously. if society ever collapsed, they would be concubines in my harem.
>>739347603The Dandelions as a whole went to sleep, but the Union Leaders and a select few others did not. As Data Daybreak Town was collapsing, Brain, Ephemer, Ventus, Lauriam (Marluxia), and Elrena (Larxene) escaped using the Lifeboats (the primitive version of the time-travel pods we see in KH1).Traveling forward in time using the Ark without a clear destination or medium tears a person's body apart and rips away their memories. This is why Ventus, Marluxia, and Larxene woke up in the modern era with severe amnesia. They survived the destruction, but at the cost of their pasts.Strelitzia is the exception. She was "killed" by Darkness (possessed Ventus) before she could use the Ark. However, her data/heart was placed in a pod by Luxu. Because she was technically "dead" in the native reality, her pod ended up in Quadratum, which Kingdom Hearts 4 is establishing as a sort of afterlife or "fictional" realm for souls that have been erased from the prime universe. Or, to be more precise and honest, a sanctuary for Nomura's scrapped, "fictional" ideas. It reminds me of a concept from the DC Comics, the "Comic Book Limbo" world.Look, if we are going to be completely honest with ourselves, we have to confess what Kingdom Hearts has actually become. What started out as a simple as a simple crossover has mutated into a convoluted meta-narrative, becoming a massive, unchecked canvas for Tetsuya Nomura’s past, scrapped, and stupidest ideas. Specially as it began directly lifting structural concepts from Final Fantasy VIII, which, let's face it, is already a remarkably zany game built on time-compression, predestination loops, and memory loss, and baked them directly into the foundation of the Keyblade mythos. And now he's doing the same with Final Fantasy XIII Versus.
>>739347603Ven, Lauriam, and Elrena were selected by Ava to join the Dandelions. She was looking for Union members who were resistant to darkness and would defy authority, those who would seek out the truth. These people would be the foundation for the new world to come after the Keyblade War. She selected five of them to take over as leaders after she was gone, and Lauriam was one of them. Strelitzia was another leader, but the Darkness hiding within Ventus murdered her and had him take her place.Lauriam knew his sister was in the Dandelions, but was bothered when he couldn't find her in Data Daybreak Town. His investigation lead him to Elrena, one of her former party members, who agreed to help him out. They found out the truth, but were unable to defeat the Darkness hiding within Ven, and a chain of events lead to the end of the world. The five union leaders decided to abandon the Dandelions and pray they'd find a way to survive, and used the Ark escape pods there to flee the world's end. The Ark was meant to just rocket you into space, but was pre-configured instead to travel through time, which they didn't know about. Lauriam and Elrena took Ven through it first, then Luxu struck and stole Brain's body, sending his heart to Scala ad Caelum in the future. Skuld and Ephemera left shortly after, but the chamber collapsed and trapped Ephemer's escape pod, and he awoke alone in the flooded ruins of Daybreak Town.Ven, Lauriam, Elrena, and Skuld arrived in the future with no memories, the price they paid for forcing the escape pods to time travel. Ven was found by Master Xehanort, while Lauriam and Elrena lost their hearts and became Nobodies, then were recruited to Org XIII by Xigbar. Skuld was found by apprentice Xehanort, but Xigbar took her away because no girls allowed. Xehanort blamed Ansem the Wise for her disappearance.Strelitzia was seemingly copied by Luxu from archived data in Data Daybreak Town, compiled into a physical form, and sent to Quadratum.
By the way, Xion being based on Skuld kind of gives Saix more depth as a character. Before they were Nobodies, Isa and Lea were just kids in Radiant Garden whose entire motivation was saving the mysterious, amnesiac 15-year-old girl (important information!) held in Ansem the Wise's dungeon. They snuck in repeatedly to visit her, and when she vanished, it broke them. Isa essentially sacrificed his humanity, allowed himself to become a Nobody, and as the Nobody Saix clawed his way up the ranks of Organization XIII for one single purpose: to get enough clearance and power to find out what happened to her. Then, Vexen boots up the Replica Program, a program we now know from the KH3 Secret Reports was built directly off the ancient data and experiments performed on Subject X. Xion is born from this program. Because she is an imperfect mirror of Sora/Kairi built on a Subject X foundation, she manifests with black hair and Skuld's features.Every time Saix looked at Xion in the halls of The World That Never Was, he wasn’t just looking at a malfunctioning tool. He was looking at a Frankenstein's monster, a soulless, puppeteered clone wearing the hijacked genetic ghost of the girl he destroyed his own life trying to save. That's why he was so cruel to Xion.
>>739346505might be in luck if this mod project gets completed which is remaking it on kh2's engine.hope they have an option for kh2 ps2 roxas voice though. not a fan of the one in this videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAWsqXqB42U
>>739348010saix would rip you in half
>>739343202He realised the western side of thr KH fandom was gay as fuck and decided to btfo of you all
>>739348970Now that you mention it, KH3 really did mindfuck the fujos. They had a whole ass indoctrination theory of their own just to preserve their favorite ship.
>>739348970Don't let me show you the eastern side of the fandom because it's 95% yaoi there.
>>739343202Playing Chain of Memories really made me appreciate Saix moreI love the "fanatically loyal right-hand man" trope and it hits harder knowing everybody else is a duplicitous fuck
>>739349103I'm surprised there wasn't more uproar like with Bayonetta 3 desu. They basically assigned a woman to every main male character in the ending
>>739349116All the more reason to add canon reassurance that the game is full of straight characters
>>739345742>>739346505The dialogue was amazing.I'm still mad they got rid of the Goldfish line from Xigbar.
I did not play the mobile games what the FUCK are you all talking about and how is Nomura gonna explain that to normal people? KH4 is doomed
>>739351786>what the FUCK are you all talking aboutThe plot of the mobile games. They went on for like a decade, starting with the JP-exclusive browser game Chi, then the Android/iOS game Unchained X/Union X Cross, and finally the companion game Dark Road. The movie X Back Cover is a good intro primer, but not a substitute for it. Think of it in terms of Star Wars. If KH1-2 is the Original Trilogy, then BBS is the Prequel Trilogy, and X/UX is The Old Republic.
>>739347494Missing-Link is in such a weird spot, since as an interquel its beginning and end have already been written into other games, so now the chapters that were supposed to connect them have just been outright lost. It's a shame because the game looked like a lot of fun and I would've played the fuck out of it.
>>739347603Strelitzia is actually Data-Strelitzia who can exist inside Quadratum because Verum Rex is a video gameThis will probably be a big reveal in KHIV for anyone who isn't paying attention>>739348258>However, her data/heart was placed in a pod by Luxu.We see her heart fly into the sky, it was not captured by anyone let alone placed in the ark.The figure that Luxu places in the ark is covered in a cloth like Ventus at the start of BbS, which is entirely different from the white cloak we see Strelitzia wearing later. It was the Master who took Data-Strelitzia to Quadratum (however he does that), and Ava who Luxu placed inside the ark.
>Nomura gets interviewed>interviewer asks about Demyx and what the fuck is up with him>Nomura answers "I can tell you, but if I do I'm going to rewrite it">interviewer disregards the question and moves onHe's the Master of Master's Nobody and no one can convince me otherwise.
