How do you overcome PVP anxiety in videogames?
>>
We need more context, are you afraid of talking on the mic?
>>
by not thinking about it and just hitting the play button
>>
>>739349802
... I can't re-write your whole psychological history in a paragraph. Don't play PvP if you're such a pussy - I understand wanting to browse or play incognito, but getting anxious just because you can fight other players? Geez, just go offline or smt
>>
>>739349802
Easy solution: complain to the devs until they remove pvp from the game!
>>
just do it
>>
>>739349802
whenever someone is a trashy dick report them so they get banned. If it's the type of game that sends you a message that they banned them, message / DM them the ban message
>>
>nooooo i lost in a video game
who cares?
>>
>>739349802
by shitting and farting farting
>>
>>739349802
Same way you overcome any anxiety: exposure. Just do it bro.
>>
>>739349802
Have sex
>>
>>739349802
What's to be scared about? the guy you're pvp'ing with is behind another computer far away from you. It's far from the LAN gaming era of pvp games where two guys talking shit will most likely result in a physical confrontation.

Drop the ego, aim to improve, not win.

Essentially, in weeb terms: be more like goku, less like vegeta.

dafuq is even that you mentally ill creature
>>
>>739349802
By not doing pvp
>>
>>739349802
Just practice and get better and you won't have anxiety anymore, you dumb frog.
>>
>>739349802
I'd like to know too. I used to pvp almost every day, for hours, for 10 years and I still got cold sweat every time.
>>
>>739349802
this is why I only played unranked and bot games in dota 2.
>"Just one more practice game and I'll be good enough to play with the real players."
>repeat for 2,000+ hours until I stopped playing
might just need to go for it

literally what is going to happen if you lose? Lets be honest, there's nothing in this world that will strike fear into you other than dying.
>>
>>739349802
I somehow get anxious for basically fucking everything, yet have never had a panic attack.
>>
>>739349802
>Dogshit thread
>>
>>739349802
WHAT DOES THE REDDIT FROG HAVE TO DO WITH THAT?
>>
>>739349802
Bot it and do something else, until you have all relevant rewards and never have to worry about it again.
>>
>>739349802
just have a drink first, like our forefathers did before doing literally anything
>>
>>739349802
play games like tf2 where you aren't punished for losing
>>
>>739349802
just play
youll get used to it
>>
I have the same issue...
Even though I know exposure is probably the way to eventually overcome it, the fact that I now have this feeling of dread hanging over my head the whole time kills all the fun of playing and therefore I lose all motivation to even play at that point, fucking sucks bros

It's not anxiety, it's excitement. Tell that to yourself.
>>
>>739349802
you gotta go out and do some shit that matters, I can't even picture being a freak who's scared to talk.

The entire feeling you get is the fear of failure. It's why when you lose, you're more likely to keep playing because your own self delusion of perfection was shattered.
It's also why when you win you quit early. You beat this by fixing your mental through many many many losses.

This.
I get super stressed in MMO PVP. FPS games do not give that intense feel for some reason, much more relaxed.
>>
Well, when I was a kid I went to the scouts also was on the school chorus so I never got time to develop stage fright, or maybe I'm just brain damaged because I don't feel any shame at all.
>>
The cure to anxiety is doing what you want to do with anxiety
>>
>>739349802
take a couple shots and you'll be geekin in 2 minutes
>>
>what's the worst that could happen
I played a competitive game, and I was doing poorly so the enemy was laughing. I ending up killing him once, and laughed at him in return. He messages me calling me pathetic for laughing when I'm doing the worst on my team. We lost too.

It just sticks with me.

I have the same OP.
I can only do PVP in games like DayZ if my friend is online.

It seems like a double-edged sword. In team PVP, your bad performance can be obscured; you can be carried, etc. But if someone notices your bad performance, they can rally your whole team to hate you, and that'll be a lot more anxiety.

In 1v1, your opponent is hyper focused and judging your every move, and will be aware of any mistakes. No one else to blame but yourself. But at least it's only 1 guy to cause you anxiety each time.
>>
>>739349802
My best advice would be to just go in and play dogshit on purpose. Then later think about how it didn't matter at all and nothing happened.

>Cant play PVP games anymore cuz he's not online

I'd like to know how to overcome aiming anxiety. If I'm aiming down sights in a fps my hands start shaking and I will more than likely miss. Your social faggotry is just you being scared of strangers. Get over it.
