The most ironic thing about Marathon is that if it was a AA game made on a AA games budget it would have bean considered a success.Ignoring the fact Ark Raiders had an explosion in popularity from streamers advertising how goofy you can be in game and the fact the game has social elements and actual PVE.The genre of hardcore low kill time sweaty FPS PVP focused extraction shooters was never popular other than among a small but still ok dedicated player-base.And ark raiders probably had a AA games budget too.
