>sony announces their sp games will go exclusive to console again>literally nobody cares on pcWere Sony's exclusives really THAT unpopular on PC? I read that they didn't sell well, but I'm not hearing anyone complaining or any type of outrage or anyone saying they're going to get a playstation
sony refused to release on pc day1, so the marketing hype isn't there, and that's all modern gamers care about is advertising hoiype
Death Stranding 2 was good, I liked Spider-Man but the second game was the most corporate ESGslop shit I've ever played. The rest of the Sony exclusives are just "fine", I'd pick them up on a Steam sale, but I won't buy a Playstation for them
>>739359152You can see online on steam db, some games like horizon and GoW sold well, as well as helldrivers 2, but others didn't. Sony as a brand doesn't work on PC
>>739359291>helldrivers 2This one sold better on PC than on PS. Marathon sold significantly better on PC compared to console as well. This is why Sony will continue to bring over their multiplayer games.
>>739359152They were also unpopular on ps. I mean the last one anybody gave a shit about was tsushima and hzd sales were only good because they tried to drow the entire userbase in it.
>>739359152walking sims arent video games. they’re just nu-TV for balding cucksoy cattle retards>OOOH I GETS TA PRESS DA BUTTON ITZ A VIDYER GAEMoh so my smart TV main menu is a videogame too ok
>>739359152>Were Sony's exclusives really THAT unpopular on PC?Yes. Look at steamcharts. Their biggest exclusives like tlou2, how, horizon etc sold less than fucking nioh 3 lol
>>739359608I don't want to turn this into yet another one of those generation wars, but I gotta say what I'm thinking right now. I think these Sony moviegame walking simulators are very popular with older people like millennials while zoomers and alphas are more into games with actual gameplay, hence why Minecraft, all those Battle Royales were and are so popular. Now that zoomers and alphas are starting to get a bit older and are starting to "domiante" the share of the market more, we see these moviegames wane a little in popularity. I can't confirm that, it's just what I feel.
>>739359830>$70>Years (5+) late ports>Never on sale below $40>Wonder why patient gamers don't buy your dogshit portsSony completely misunderstood the market.
>>739359873Why do you think it's a generational thing? It's always been normalfags that latched on to games.
>>739360000checked>Why do you think it's a generational thing? It's completely anecdotal, just a feeling I have. Whenever I see people praising those moviegames, especially the Sony ones, it's almost all older people, while games with actual gameplay and mechanics tend to be a lot younger. In my family, it's the exact same thing. >It's always been normalfags that latched on to games. It's most likely just this tho
the only games i could even remotely give a fuck about coming to pc are demon's souls (2009), bloodborne and the gran turismo series. of course sony decided to release everything BUT those on pc. i am holding out hope that maybe gt8 will finally get a pc release. i'm not paying for their shitty console and a subscription just to race around online
What exclusives? Since the ps4 there's been like one per generation lol
>>739360210>demon's souls (2009), bloodborne and the gran turismo seriesthese are the only ones im interested in as well, but if i had to choose 1, i would choose GT. Demons souls and Bloodborne can be emulated really well, the GT series I would like to play online. I don't think there's another racing series that does motorsport racing as well as GT. GT is a good blend of sim/arcade and very high quality models, sounds etc.
>>739360606yeah i've done playthroughs of des and bb on pc already as well. i'm moreso just pointing out that sony sucks and is stupid.older gt games have good mods too (gt4 spec ii, gt5 loose chase cam etc.) and while the old games are enjoyable i just want a chill online racing experience thats a bit more serious than something like fh but not a proper sim like raceroom or lmu. forza motorsport is dead in the water unfortunately (but they haven't been good since 4 anyhow, so whatever) which just makes the absence of a good alternative on pc even worse.
>>739359376If Sony doesn't want my singplayer money, they don't deserve my multiplayer money
>>739359873no.It's zoomers that enjoy walking simulators, there is a reason they became popular as zoomies started coming of age.Millennials and Gen Alpha both hate them.
>>739359152People used to care because the exclusives were good and they were jealous. The western occupied sony doesn't produce good exclusives
>>739360839>The western occupied sonywhen did Sony become occupied by the west?
>>739360749You think the Steam Machine genuinely rattled them? That's literally a way for those users to play Sony exclusives on their couch + have access to the very popular PC games.
>>739360914>Sony shifted its global PlayStation headquarters from Tokyo, Japan, to San Mateo, California, in April 2016
>>739359152>Were Sony's exclusives really THAT unpopular on PCYes. No one was actually asking for these games and if they were it was such a small minority. Sonys fanboys just pretended to be PC gamers and beg for Sony games on this board as a form of trolling when in reality nobody gave a fuck about them.Or they highlighted the most small fringe cases of people that actually cared. That's why they failed as we constantly told you that we didn't care. It was only funny that they became non exclusives because their pathetic fanboys had actual meltdowns over it.
>>739361626No one was asking for them, but they sold well for timed exclusives.Spiderman games are fun, DS2 was fun.I wouldn't buy a console for them though, so Sony is just going to miss out on my money.
>>739361083maybe. i mean the limitations of the xbox and playstation have always just sort of been accepted by ultranormies. for a long time while there was free online on nintendo (until the switch) it didn't really matter because nintendo doesn't really compete with them. a 'console' that actually offers the freedom of a pc and has free online and doesn't funnel you down a singular shitty storefront with barely any discounts should scare them. they probably lucked out that everyone is facing a bunch of supply issues now.
>>739359152People were hoping for Bloodborne, and maybe Demon's Souls (2020). They got neither. So they got a bunch of Sony's third person movie games and that was it. Some of them were ok (I disagree, but it seems to be the common consensus) and some of them were less than stellar. Now Sony doesn't really have any interesting - announced - upcoming games so there's not really anything interesting to miss out on, except promises of more third person movie games which a lot of people just do not care for any more.If you don't believe me, just compare the reactions to their third person movie game franchises:GoW - GoW: RHZD - HFWGoT - GoYSM - SM2LoU - LoU2All of them have had a universally praised first game, and then a sequel that worse in every way. The only exception is Death Stranding, I guess. And now they're out of franchises to make sequels to, so they're just making a new capeshit game with violence shock value, acting as if it's the 360 era.
>>739361718Half of my point was that 'PCbeggers' was a snoy falseflag. Because when push game to shove no one touched the games.
>>739359152>Were Sony's exclusives really THAT unpopular on PC?Anyone pretending PC gamers weren't begging for PlayStation exclusives is trying to maintain appearances, there was high demand for their well received titles. Spider-Man Remastered is sitting on 53k reviews. People pretending Helldivers 2 wasn't a thing.Honestly good move from Sony, the Xbox philosophy was retarded and compromises the 30% cut they take from all software sold on their system. It pisses off PC gamers but it's the better long term decision.
>>739361874My biggest issue with those Sony 3rd person movie games is just how incredibly derivative and pretentious it all is. Those Horizon games are fucking Ubisoft games in disguise. Gamers are fucking retards, but not they're not so stupid to the point where they keep gobbling this slop up. Eventually even they get tired of that shit, no wonder those sequels mostly all failed to reach the acclaim and hype of the first ones
>>739359152I haven't bought a Sony product since the PS2 (except for a receiver once).
>>739362264>People pretending Helldivers 2 wasn't a thing. This came to PC on day 1. Hardly an exclusive. Sony will continue to bring over their multiplayer games, because they know those games do better on PC. Helldivers 2 did better on PC, Marathon definitely did. In fact, Marathon would've literally been Concord 2.0 if it wasn't released on PC. Their first few single players games that they brought on PC did well, but eventually those sequels didn't sell. Why? Because PC gamers have seen everything they have to offer when it comes to single player games. The same fucking stale ass garbage movie game 3rd person walking simulators. We've seen it, we've played, it's fucking boring.
>>739362524>Marathon would've literally been Concord 2.0Literally impossible, you're stretching it desu. Also lets not pretend /v/ wasn't blowing their load over Stellar Blade. Hoes mad because they actually want Sony exclusives as dire as their software is on average. I don't even like these games but let's be real.
>>739360801Correct, they should make their GaaS garbage exclusive as well.
>>739362651Stellar Blade isn't even a Sony IP.
>>739362264>Anyone pretending PC gamers weren't begging for PlayStation exclusives is trying to maintain appearancesYou definitely can't claim that anymore. You were the ones pretending we were doing that and now you've been caught out red handed as liars.Fuck off you retarded snoy faggot. We know you falseflag ad nauseam on this board and now this is the proof that it was false flagging.
>>739362651>Literally impossible, you're stretching it desu.Look at these estimations. Does that fucking look like it would've survived if it was on PS only? It would've been shut down 1 month after launch.
>>739362391Horizon games are unironically worse than Ubislop, climbing is extremely ass, melee combat is ass, stealth is ass, fighting humans is ass, fighting robots gets annoying as well, writing is ass, lore was kinda cool and it looks really nice but that's itI am snoy and willing to defend most of the Sony games to some point but I fucking hate Horizon and the fact that Killzone series died for this shit, also Shellshock but I doubt many OG Gorillas are still in the teamand the future looks even more grim, since the oly thing I really like was Sylens' character and the actor is now dead and we're also getting woke LS slop game to burn money on
>>739362735>i-it doesn't countSure, Ratchet and Clank wasn't an exclusive on PS2 because Insomniac wasn't yet owned by Sony, great logic. Can't wait to play it on Xbox.>>739362809>lets ignore the stellar blade and helldivers threads on /v/yeah clearly ancient history>i-i never cared anywayThe cope is generational.
>>739362868thanks a lot PCtards for keeping this shit alive
>>739362921you're coping and crying
>>739362868It didn't survive either way, they had good launch traffic but very bad player retention. That being said, you're grossly overestimating how well Concord did because that is your point of comparison. No one fucking bought Concord, an indie game on Steam with 500 reviews probably made more revenue.
>>739360606Demon Souls actually emulates really well, that even a toaster can run it.
>>7393591521-novelty of ps games on pc ran out2-most of the time game came out on pc years after release so most were aware of the story.3-quality of ports worsened as time went on4-many deemed prices to steep for years old rereleased gamesThose are 4 reasons im aware of
>>739361158You can even see this shift in the games around that time, 2017 was the last year real sony exclusives got released
>>739361743Steam Machine isn't meant to sell tens of millions of units, neither was the Steam Deck btw. Valve just does not want to do that. There has been no indication of them actually wanting to compete with Sony and Microsoft in the mass console market. No contracts with AMD to procure millions and millions of chips. Nothing. If they actually wanted to do that, it would require a significant expansion of Valve's current structure and business. They're literally the most profitable company in the entire world per employee. Maybe they're just dipping their toes in the waters for something far bigger in the future, but that's not now. Just wanted to add what I thought
>>739362921Nobody cares about Stellar Blade except weebs and porn addicts. To say this game was in high demand is looking through a deluded 4chan lens to begin with.Helldivers is practically a game that could be sold by anyone on Steam. It's not really a distinct game but something you'd wonder why Sony wouldn't put it on steam to make extra money. As in it doesn't really stand out from a lot of competitors other than it's competent next to them.
>>739359152>>739363016Also to add one more point i forgotApparently the choice of games ported was also odd.An example ive got is uncharted.I think pc only got 4th and 5th games, so if you wanted to play first 3 you either need to get a console, emulate or watch a someone play on the internet.
>>739359873like other anon pointed out, it's just casuals
>>739363153>Nobody cares about Stellar Blade except weebs and porn addicts. It's sitting on 86k reviews. Stellar Blade's fanbase is primarily Chinese, so most of the English discourse is posturing culture warrior types and not people that played the game. But it did do "well" in context of its budget considering it's getting a sequel.
>>739363016>1-novelty of ps games on pc ran out>2-most of the time game came out on pc years after release so most were aware of the story. These are the 2 main reasons why. The novelty wore off and the hype can't be there years after release. On top of that, their exclusives have gotten significantly worse over time. If you didn't like first games in these franchises, the sequels were all worse. It's the same thing again, but this time the writing got worse, the mechanics either got worse or weren't expanded on and improved.
>>739361158>>739363049The slop they churned out after 2016 did extremely well sales wise, so no doubt they kept going, but now I believe that shit is failing
>>739363290>and not people that played the gameDid you ever consider that the game doesn't actually look like something i would play? i can't imagine many western men care about super hero asian robot chicks except for those who are already weaboo. Only difference is that it's not anime but the game still looks like it has so many anime tropes that i can't handle it.
>>739363192>Sony keeps the Hennig's sovlful adventure kino on PS and gives PC players only the Druckmann's movieslopcruelalso possibly their intention, to release just the taste of their games to lure PC players to buy Playstation
Literally the only PS exclusive anyone has given a fuck about since the PS4 released is Bloodborne, and we knew that was never coming. People don't shit on Horizon out of sour grapes, it's fundamentally unappealing.
>>739363518The game looks like shit design wise and even under gooner standards (the protagonist is somehow less attractive than your standard Korean model), but I can't deny it did ok.At the bare minimum /v/ pretended to care, and now they're arguing they didn't care this whole time. Basically rangeban Stellar Blade fans if that's the case, their primary goal was shitposting anyway.
>>739359152The Sony games everyone always wanted thought all console generations were it's juicy jap exclusives.Too bad they abandoned them, going as far to kill Japan Studios, in favor of Western cinematic slop that can be emulated on youtube with some generic FPS gameplay that pales in comparison with shooters that released 20 years ago.
>>739364238>juicy jap exclusiveslike?
>>739364676He's stuck in 2008 and thinks MGS4 is still the talk of the town. Ever since the early PS4 they positioned towards western AAA and to be frank they were doing well up until recently because the rising budgets and homogeneous game design reached a breaking point.
>>739360821complete and utter bullshit. shut up, bald retard
>>739359152They had like.. Helldivers, Ratchet & Clank, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man 2, God of War, The Last of Us, Returnal, and Death Stranding. You look at that list and tell me that all of those are worth buying a Playstation for or being sad about losing any further stuff like that on PC. Helldivers 2 and Death Stranding were the only games with any notable lasting impact besides SM2 and R&C:RA serving as solid tech demo shit for the current generation.Like wow, you don't get Ghost of Yotei, Intergalactic, whatever the God of War remake and continuation shit leads to, or Saros. What a goddamn tragedy.
>>739365759Oh right, and Horizon. They have to pack it in with the damn Playstation to make it matter, and the Lego spinoff failed, the live service spinoff will fail. Not really worth noting. Also Days Gone, okay but no one remembers it.
>>739359152i didn't know sony exclusives were on pc to begin withalso what does that even entail? last of us? horizon? lol
Their games have just completely lost relevance this gen.Apart from Astrobot and maybe the last Ratchet there isn´t anything worth shit.
>>739359873Calling Minecraft gameplay is a joke. And if your hypothesis were true, DMC with it's combat sandbox gameplay would be king, instead of Dark Souls.
The only good game Sony released on PC was Returnal nad for that I am grateful. They couldn't even release the GoW remasters, the Killzones or the World War 2 with aliens game.Dumbest strategy but that is par the course for the company that thought Bungie was worth 4 billion dollars (that will never not make me laugh KEKE)
>>739366046Minecraft is pure gameplay and so is Dark Souls. What the fuck am I reading?
>>739366413>Dark SoulsDodge, Attack>MinecraftDigRiveting gameplay, really.
>>739365104>He's stuck in 2008 and thinks MGS4 is still the talk of the townVery little talk of it happened post release because most people found it to be disappointing. It was the one thing the PS3 had to it's library that may have potentially made everyone jealous until everyone figured out that it was a colossal disappointment that not even Sony fans could cope with what happened. Only the diehard ones defended Kojima during that time.
>>739363546Also a possibilityI just want fuckin gravity rush and granturismo for Christs sake.
>>739359152is this ai?i found it difficult to believe a smol girl could one hand a g36
You've played one Horizon game and you've played every Sony cinematic story-driven singleplayer game.
>>739368310Aren't they lightweight compared to most rifles?
>>739368420says around 4kg online so I'm not sure
>>739366947Post examples of good gameplay
>>739365759You just listed off every big Sony staple. If they don't have Horizon and nu God of War then why does Sony have exactly? both Ghost of Yotei and Tsushima combined are worse than Assassins Creed Shadows but you can't admit that these games that are exclusive to your consoles are pretty ordinary and mediocre games. You also forgot to list TLOU1+2The biggest miss was Astrobot i suppose but i assumed that Asobi games would have never went over anyway.
>propaganda company announces their slop will no longer come to pc>wtf why don't you care??
>>739359152what this guy said >>739359216No one really cares because the PC releases were a year+ after the ps5 release anyway
>>739359152It dilutes the brand and their aura. It also doesn't help they turned everything but Stellar Blade into wokeslop.
>>739368539that's the full size G36, this is G36C, possibly G36K, weighing 2,8/3,3 kg respectively, also she might be resting the stock on the counterthey're not that heavy, made mostly of polymer, also could be airsoft replica
>Interactive movies filled with DEI trashThe only reason I wanted Snoy garbage on PC was their faggot fans tears. And damn, those were delicious!
>>739368795
>Horizon 1 and 2>Ratchet>Tsushima>Days Gone>Returnal>Helldivers 2These were fun. I didnt think nuGoW or Spider-Man were that good. I wanted to play Saros and Yotei. Oh well.
>>739369358nuGoW is probably the most overrated PS game but how could you enjoy Horizon and not Spider-ManSM feels like one of the few games in the last 15 years or so that actually bring something new and fun into open world game genre, Horizon was pure Ubi-tier slop
>>739369607Horizon has a beautiful world, great enemies, and good combat. I liked it for the engine and aesthetic. I also forgot to mention Death Stranding. That one was good. 2 sucks. >Spider-Man I don't know. It just felt lame. By the time the sinister six broke out of prison and I was fighting electro and scorpion (I think?) I realized I just didn't like it at all. I like Web of Shadows, Ultimate, 64, the first two Tobey games. I just didn't like Insomniac turning Peter into psuedo Ratchet. I don't want Spider-Man using gadgets. Nothing about the game felt good.
>>739369607>SM feels like one of the few games in the last 15 years or so that actually bring something new and fun into open world game genreWhat the fuck? lmao
>>739359152Uh huh.
>>739359152The idea that a pc game will spend $700+ to get a ps5/6 to play as Mary Jane or Jean Grey is silly.
>>739370671for starters, swinging around the city is actually fun and doesn't make me want to abuse fast traver just to get two blocks ahead like in other open world games
>>739370718>310 viewsWow!
Not that much. It's great if they want to release games. And if they don't, well... , it's a free market and shit.
>>739359152i can already watch movies on pc, i don't need sony's permission to do so
>>739359152hard to care when every single franchise pivoted into full-on woke activism for their sequel.Sony and Ubisoft can keep their wokeslop I don't care if they leave Steam
>>739371208Most of their franchises were woke, maybe it was more subtle. And before they went woke, their ""games" were still shit
>>739371383It was there yes but it didn't outright ruin the games, Yes Jin Sakai had an ugly girlboss companion but the game still mogged whatever Ass Creed was out at the time. Yes Aloy is fugly and everyone in her tribe is a POC but the writing was good courtesy of ex Obsidian writer John Gonzalez. Now the negatives are so numerous they completely outweigh any positives
>>739359152I bought Days Gone and it was fine. Didn't finish it.I'm a bit interested in Spidey 1 and Tsushima, but not in any rush to play.Other than that, nothing
>>739359152i just want the stingy cunts to give one of those remaster companies access to the Resistance franchise and the engine that 3 ran on.
>>739372247>ResistanceHaven't heard of this franchise since I was a kid. What a throwback
>>739373812full port of all five games to PC, remake Retribution slightly to be first person instead, add third person as an option for all games, update all the graphics, add a dedicated coop mode for each campaign, and add modding tools.the money would print itself.hell i wouldn't even mind if they tacked on some shitty warzone-esque battle royale mode if it means we get the campaigns on PC with full coop support.
>>739374994>the money would print itself.I'm going to be very honest with you, I don't think it would sell. At least not that well. Resistance is actually a pretty niche franchise.
>>739359152All three Spider-Man games have cost $200-300 million, as well as Wolverine. Add another $300-400 million for the as of yet unreleased Spider-Man 3. Disney gets a cut of all the sales from the Marvel licensing. Last of Us 2 cost $200 million. Horizon 2 costs $200 million.Sony only ported these games to PC out of desperation because the PS4/PS5 audience were not buying them at full price in a high enough volume to make it profitable. Vast majority of PS5s in North America just exist to be live service machines. A little over half are used to play Fortnite.People weren't buying them on PS5 or PC because most people didn't care, except the bigger problem is that it was perceived to be exacerbating the PS5 issue of people not buying games or devaluing the Playstation platform as a whole. Hence the shift back to exclusives but the general apathy from pretty much everybody.Honestly I hear more complaints about Xbox's CEO musing going back to exclusives. Go figure.
>>739375269yeah, fair enough, being a console exclusive franchise locked to one generation of console, three if you include the portable ones.still, it's definitely got potential, especially if they release it as a full collectors edition for like 50$ and rectify a lot of the problems people had with the originals. like resistance 2's awful coop.if they were going to do that though, they should definitely add some kind of campaign set in russia during and after the tunguska event. it'd give incentive to fans to pick it up again.
>>739359152Yet you've been whining about it and crying about Saros's sales for a month.
>>739376053>Honestly I hear more complaints about Xbox's CEO musing going back to exclusives. Go figure.I believe the Xbox brand is dead. You think them going full exclusives again will help them or speed up their demise even further?
>>739359873rather zoomers just never got any cool triple A singleplayer games because genX+corporations had taken over gamedev by that point and made truly soulless products instead of interesting experiencesZoomers grew up in a world where the only interesting gaming experiences were in emergent online games, because multiplayer will give you some interest via its social aspect.Millenials grew up in a time where game devs were still passionate smaller teams where the creators still had some sway to make decisions, they werent fully commercial products yet and had some artistic merit.
Sony was under the impression $70 games were something gamers accepted and not that they only got away with that shit because they had a captive audience. They sold regardless because the PS5 library is a joke, putting them on PC for full price years after they launched gave them a reality check so now they are pulling out to save face. Also can't forget they never put the games people actually wanted on PC. No one was salivating over Horizon getting released, they wanted Bloodborne period. Then you also had retarded decisions like porting Uncharted 4 to PC, the climax of the series, without porting 1-3 more than likely because they knew they couldn't justify charging full price for them without shitting out a remastering which would cost more money than they were willing to spend.
>>739359152I can pay $60 for a snoy exclusive or $15 for a older game of similar quality, ps5 owners don't have that option
>>739359152as an ancient gamer on google here we got uh fuckin... >Astro Botsome fuckin kids game>Death Stranding 2: On the Beachmore reedus and fetus walking sim>Ghost of Yoteinot buying a ps5 for yet another samurai game>Demon's Soulsnot buying a ps5 for a remaster/demaster>Sarosdont even know what this is>Marvel's Wolverinelul gay>Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophetthis is the one yall meme on right? >God of War: Sons of Sparta meh at best. yeah sony can keep this trash, if you aren't some spic playing fifa why the fuck would you even own a ps5?
>>739368795>>739369321you don't even need to look at his surname, the schnoz and jewfro says it all
>>739359928Correct. It isn't that there isn't PC market for their games, it's that they fundamentally don't grasp that by releasing on PC, they aren't competing in a market they 100% control anymore. They have to actually set competitive pricing with the rest of the PC market, and Sony didn't do that because they're absolutely fucking retarded. If Snoy games were $30-$35 and occasionally went on sale for $20-$23, most would have sold pretty damn well. They just don't grasp that they can't force players to buy $70 games like they can on their own console. Lastly, releasing multiplat titles on PC years after their release at full price is completely fucking batshit insane and I've never seen another company try to get away with it.I have no clue who's calling the shots at Sony's gaming division, but they are fast tracking it straight into the abyss between how they handeled multiplat releases and what they paid for Bungie.
>>739359152>Sony gives PC maybe ten single-player games>three of them are probably the only worthwhile gamesNothing of value was lost.
>>739378025You say that but PC gamers port beg like there's no tomorrow, hence why these ports sold to begin with. Kind of revisionist desu
>Ports least popular exclusives to PC>WTF why didn't this shit sell???????
>>739359152>Were Sony's exclusives really THAT unpopular on PC?The whole "3rd person moviegame where cinematics and political preaching matter more than gameplay" formula that they've got going is really not what PC gamers are looking for, you can tell by which games hit massive popularity and which don't.Their ports were also late as fuck and didn't even seem to be particularly marketed, I bet most people who cared at all just forgot and stopped giving a fuck while waiting, or they didn't even realize some game got released in the first place.
>>739378621>hence why
>>739378807The thing is, they don't even need to sell that much to make up for the porting budget. The reason they're not porting to PC is because porting to PC is fundamentally retarded to begin with. Just because Microsoft is doing it doesn't mean it's a good idea. The more of your key exclusives you put on competing platforms, the less people will give you a 30% cut on multiplatform releases on your own storefront.
>>739378912it's redundant, my point still stands :v
>>739378967Look, I just want Gran Turismo.
>>739378967It's not that simple. Getting more multiplat sales implies a lot of things, which may not be true. First of all the PC players they want to push into buying a PS5 may simply be fundamentally uninterested in doing so for a couple of exclusives, even if they would buy those on PC if they were available. Secondly getting more multiplat sales on PS5 out of a PC player who bought a PS5 for exclusives is very dubious. If you convinced a PC player to buy a PS5 for exclusives that doesn't mean he's also going to buy multiplats on PS, in fact since those are superior on PC anyway he's probably going to keep buying the PC versions.Add on to this the fact that selling the hardware isn't particularly profitable, but software ports can very well be, and you realize why they started porting their shit in the first place. The money is in the software and even selling somebody a console isn't anything to write home about if that customer won't buy software on the console as well.I don't think it's likely at all that the lack of SP moviegame exclusives is going to push many PC players into migrating to the PS5 walled garden.
>>739379070Yeah this, the PS5 might as well be a Gran Turismo machine for me.
>>739379365If Sony convinces a PC player to buy a PS and then that PC player proceeds to buy 2 games in 8 years, then they're not a customer, they're a window shopper. The simple fact remains that PC players overwhelmingly will not buy a console. PC gamers wouldn't spend 1000-3000 bucks on a PC if they could get even remotely the same experience with a console. There's something on the PC platform that attracted them and is keeping them there. That something or those things are just not present on a console platform.
I really don't understand this business move. The SP games are the ones you can just emulate a few years after release. If they want people to buy their console, they would have to invest in the multiplayer experience.
>>739379365>I don't think it's likely at all that the lack of SP moviegame exclusives is going to push many PC players into migrating to the PS5 walled garden. It doesn't need to be all in. It's about what system they're using more at a given point in time. Take a guy that has a PC and PS5, they can play the same moviegame on either system. They get it on PS5 because it's exclusive, now they're spending more time on PS5. They interact with the PlayStation store, they buy some software or DLC. Best of all, Sony gets a 100% cut of first party releases and 30% cut of third party releases. The people that could swing either way bias towards PlayStation and hopefully buy more first and third party titles there. The people who would've been glued to PC either stay on PC or consider getting a PlayStation on Black Friday or secondhand to play a few games.
>>739379742Modern multiplayer design is cancerous and requires really tight skill based matchmaking. So you basically need 100k active for the games to function, risky to do if a console exclusive. But yes, if they're smart they'd make the multiplayer titles exclusive too. This tells me their upcoming live service games are internally recognized as slop, meanwhile they have a few potential singleplayer system sellers.

>>739379742>If they want people to buy their console, they would have to invest in the multiplayer experience.Imagine losing nearly 10 million copies sold on Helldivers 2 and all the viral marketing because you refused to bring it out on PC. If Helldivers 2 was on PS only, it wouldn't even have made the news.
