It's not Skyrim levels of open world, but there is a lot of exploration and a good chunk of side content you can explore at your leisure.You have 5 weapons at your disposal (sword and shield, hammer, dagger, staff and magic bracelets) that each have an upgrade path that gives you various buffs for your preferred playstyle so there's a good amount of build tinkering there. The stat upgrades are rather spartan (lol) but they do their job as you can choose to upgrade your health, stamina and super meter. You can also accessorize with brooches to give you some buffs while you are wearing them.

And that type of person will make that specific ideology their entire identity and as such, every single facet of the game will be built through that lens. I've seen it way, way too many times to ignore it.
