I had fun getting the pyrophina achievement on the second profile, not caring about conserving items and just using my favorite classes felt good.

I hope the DLC introduces some kind of game warping element. Making the enemies stronger didn't really make a difference as I progressed through impossible. Maybe being forced to select disorders on level up would be fun and you'd have to get more creative with breaking things. Unfortunately there's a group of very vocal people still pretending to play the game that cry about any friction.

so I did the trick where you sac one of your Tinkerer cats into an urn for infinite repairs, but because I gave that same cat a Stunning Necklace (also had the passive that gives you all set bonuses), it kinda...tripled the amount of urns. So now I have three of that cat's soul to summon whenever

it's total scrub talk but I kind of felt like the only reason I was having fun was because I could reliably steam roll with hunter bullshit
I'm kind of worried the game will just be frustrating without that easy mode

I got bored of it. way too much managing, runs take too long, and every design decision incentivizes savescumming
the breeding mechanics are sorta neat and the core gameplay is fun, but they mix together into game I can't be bothered to play

I had a really strong Mage this run with Two, Inspire, Switch, and Magic Missile. It spent the first half of fights giving out mana and helping cats reposition, and then in the latter half it unloaded on enemies with Bonus Attacks. It was really cool.
It's still hard to call Mage a good class though. I don't know, most of its kit feels really mediocre.

it was a fun 100 hours but boy oh boy did it overstay its welcome. looking forward to whatever gets added, but i'm good on what's there for now.

It has uses. Given that the bear has such high HP, it's one of the easiest summons to successfully turn into a corpse for looting purposes (most summons don't leave corpses and many that do have very low HP totals and so are easy to kill too hard, causing their corpse to explode).

Not sure if I can discern any difference with the new breeding. My mutation room is kind of different and I'm forced to throw away anything that gets a birth defect, but I was already kind of doing that unless the inbred cat had some insane abilities and passive... why did this need to be changed?

I played it for a few hours and realised that the entire game was "do X, okay, now do X+1, okay, now do X+1+1..." instead of just letting me beat the whole game on my first run. It's one of the more unpleasant gaming experiences I've had, there is nowhere near enough meat upfront to convince me to jump through hoops a million times to unlock the next piece of shit clown cat. Imagine if Isaac expected you to fight one boss, get a "yay, you did it!" ending, and then have to start again but this time you have to beat 2 levels instead of one. Even that would be less of a chore than this turd of a game.

If you bring worn items on an adventure and then use repair on the cat wearing them, they lose worn. They will regain worn when you arrive back home, but since they weren't worn at the end of the adventure, they don't roll for breaking. This means that you can keep a set of items theoretically forever, so long as the cat doesn't die.

Opposite for me, I was thinking of dropping the game around 95% because Tinkerer, Mage and Necromancer were viscerally unfun classes for me but the update making 2/3 of those much better is actually giving me incentive to go ahead and get more completion marks. Shame Necro still sucks dick though, hope that's buffed next patch because it has two great spells (Eternal Servitude and Summon Shade) and then a whole lot of mid-to-atrocious, utterly unsynergystic dogshit mucking its learnpool with nowhere near good enough base traits to make up for that unlike Butcher.
