So, what are we thinking, lads?
Hopes, fears, and expectations for either of these games?

>Inb4: Something le woke, Rings of Power, and gay hobbits, Seething about vavra ( brought to you by the guy who hasn’t played KCD)

Like jewish investors and industry plants?
>>
>>739425334
I'm not that interested in Middle-earth, but I wasn't interested in Czech history either, yet they won me over. I'm optimistic and I hope the fantasy element do not mean the game becomes less "sensible" than KCD.

Idk anything about LOTR
how many races are there in that setting and how's this middle earth
>>
it sounds the lotr game is the next real game with most hands on deck, the kcd being called "adventure" implies small scale
>>
>>739425665
Hopefully it still has NPC schedules with all sorts of interesting jobs

Honestly a small game would be a good opportunity to test new systems and elements.
I would really like a companion system and a custom character.

what if its a dlc

Don't care musa and the jews ruined kcd2

No it isn't. There's a beat/subplot about them but they weren't a big deal.
Also it sucked because wrong game, wrong time. If you really want to open up that discussion, The Hussite Wars/Crusade would have been a good part. There, Jews were actually massacred IRL, and instead of it being randos it's soldiers.
>>739426097
Musa being a big or small deal is irrelevant. It's what he adds to the game.
>quest
Removing the woke elements it was fine, decent. I don't like how you can't fail it, but it was fun pinning it on someone else.
>chat
He's trying to be a real-life adventurer, except I can't believe what he's saying. Not only in a historical level but also comparison level. We've seen Henry go on adventures, and his acutal-father Martin as well. They do not go across the entire world, they go on a very localized level. They only speak Czech, aren't that educated except within their specific craft.
With that, you're telling me Musa managed to learn Arabic, Czech and probably Turkish/Greek/whatever-Ottomans-used-to, learned medicine, wasn't blue-blooded, and managed to get into a Christian king's court? When we have characters whose only done one thing like the priest who was a crusader, Musa seems too much. This is a game where this character exists: so even if Musa's backstory was fine, him being in a Christian King's court
Let's set that aside. What did he add narratively? Besides him showing up in Christian politics which was stupid, saving Henry which could have been done by another character, not much. What does the game lose with him gone? We talked about the Jews, so let's bring them up: Sam and his backstory is tied around Jewish relations in cities. Without that, Sam and the narrative would lose an entire plot/beat. Not only that, Sam's is Henry's brother. So Sam has two threads justifying him. Musa? Not much.

You can cut Musa and gain in historical credibility and narrative cohesion. He's a bad joke.

Rereading it, I realized the first response and the second seem to contradict each other. Let me explain: the second is me looking at the game as a whole. It was me trying to see what the game was doing, and adjusting it to better express that. The Jewish Quarter plot was fine in that second point because the game clearly is interested in talking about that, and they did a much better job with it than Musa on every front.
The first point is me looking over the game as a whole, and asking if there was a better vision/take here. And the answer is that it didn't really add much. To not be so social-identity brain, the game is so bloated. Too much main quest, motherfuckers, cutscenes. It needed a massive redraft.

The entire story for LOTR is centered around a group of people from different backgrounds agreeing to put aside their petty differences and work together to destroy a greater evil, if you don't see how that has parallels to real life then you missed the entire point of the books.
>>
Can't wait for the steam charts
Also now I missed that retard who use to Cry about bg3 and KCD2
>>
Only thing I am worried about is them using UE5
Crytek must be a pain in the ass to modify
if they are not using it after 15 years

More gay shit, regardless of team.
