Your gamedev progress is required.
>>739429763Which image generation ai the best for game dev?
I'll be spending the day out in the sun but once I'm back I'll keep working on effects for the demon's attacks. It's almost done and once it is I'll be able to release a demo. Crazy stuff to finally reach this point after almost a year and half of development
>>739429763Heatwave for the last 2 days and again tomorrow, I'm doing nothing until it's over. I'm laying naked with a fan on me. Exercising is hard enough, I'm not sitting in front of a computer trying to think in this weather.
>>739429763I want to get into gamedev this summer. Where the fuck do I start
I have started over so many fucking times. I will never make my game. I change my mind part way through development then start a new project. I am on like v10 and still have nothing.
>>739429763I'm not devving, I'm making a trailer and resisting the ever present urge to drop dead and sleep past the v3 submission deadline
>>739430118if 3d and your pc is hefty, probably unreal or unity. otherwise godot. you can search on youtube for "unity vs unreal""[engine name] beginner tutorial"(go for those that make a full game, rpg/platformer)
>>739429969>I'll be spending the day out in the sunBased chad getting inspiration from irl stuff
>>739430118Just install and engine and start making a game. It will be ass. Super ass. But just make one. Then make another one. Then another one. Eventually something will click and you will make one that isn't so ass, and this is the one you will invest your time in making into a real thing.
uhh I'm making an online game and I keep thinking of tons of things I should make more secure/better and whenever I add anything I have to make sure every little thing about it works. the problem isn't getting things working it's just the amount of shit to be done. I feel like making a single player game would be 1000x easier but I think that would be boring. it's all working it's just extremely overwhelming with how much shit I have to do and test and then I have to make a fuckload of graphics for it after everything's completely working and for some reason it's really hard to motivate myself to do graphics whenever I have to make some.
>>739429763I keep telling my subscribers the game is coming and its not
>>739429763
>>739430971If it's just a small player lobby or multiplayer don't worry too much about cheating. Just make a basic opcode system for game traffic and model from there.
>>739431415thanks for the tips but it's honestly something that's really important to make sure people don't cheat. I also am kind of going in with the mindset that I'm developing a game for ideally a bunch of players. so even if it did flop I have a really good source at least.
>>739429763What's the best way to join/organize a team to build a game together?
I like pico8Kind of wish there was something more serious that still handled sprites the same way
>>739431651MMO scaling? I am making a series if you were thinking on architecture specifically. On part 3 I am going to show method hooking, obfuscation, and some examples of what cheaters will use on your client https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbfRtofQw2A
>>739429763Bros, blender isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
>>739432392That looks a lot better than what I can do but yeah I'm surprised how easy blender is, at least for low poly. It's just box selecting, extruding, resizing and rotating.
>>739430215Minimum viable product tactic. Create the very basic shit so that you can play and just have fun as is. Then as you keep playing, think what else you want in it and add it. Fantasising about your awesome end product will get you exactly nowhere.
My game is finally on Steam. Gonna be spending the next few month with playtesters so I can get a demo out by the end of August
>>739432503https://youtu.be/AL_CQNHoWe0That is the 2nd model, this one is the first I made. Still undecided between angular junkyard Americana and dieselpunk visual style. Now that I'm learning curving and sculpting shit, dieselpunk seems the way to go.
>>739432503Now try to animate a fabric. This cloak for example.
>>739432013based I'll check this out thank you!!
