Looking back, we were way too harsh on this game.
>nigger>blonde white womangave it no further consideration, not worth my time.
>>739435109Card system could be better, aside from that and the microtrasactional shit the game was mildly good.
Indeed, i admit. I was too harsh.If i hadn't ever played it, i wouldn't be.But alas, i did. And i hated it.
>>739435109It's like good mod for l4d but with boring characters and story telling.Overall, it's worth a try. It has satisfying shooting mechanics, cool guns, and good graphics. I often tell myself that I need to go back because it's really okay game.
>>739435109It was okay for 1 normal playthrough with friends but its shit on higher difficulty
>>739435109No, we should've been much more crueler toward this piece of shit game.
>>739435109That's only because I didn't care enough to shit on it for much longerGod, Turtle Rock is so miserable even just the title alone sounds like "Yes we're back from the grave like vampires trying to leech onto your nostalgia for a game we were only partly responsible for"
hey those are the people who made left 4 dead
>>739435109No we weren't, this game sucked worse than Evolve and only got worse every patch.
>>739435109>we were way too harsh on this game.Maybe if you didn't play itAs someone who beat every campaign on hardest difficulty with friends, no, people were not too harsh on it, it deserved all the flak it got. The game doesn't get good until the very final DLC, where they finally figured out how to make a fun campaign. But too little too late.
>>739435109Ye, but the whole cards system can fuck right off.
>>739435109Back 4 Blood made it perfectly clear that Valve were the only reason Left 4 Dead was good. They basically learned nothing and made a bunch of rookie mistakes that the developer commentary for L4D mentioned them dodging ages ago.
>>739436938ThisYou don't even need to criticize their special infected design, the L4D commentary nodes already explain perfectly why all the decisions they made for B4B suck.
>>739435109kys
>>739436938>>739437010I too base all my opinions on what ecelebs tell me to think.
>>739435109No we weren't
>>739435109No we weren’t this is an awful fucking game. Grabbed it for $5 one day. Garbage. The entire screen is nothing but HUD and highlighted enemies and players and doors and items and you can’t even see what’s going on.
>>739437216>Left4Dead developer commentary that's a special feature in the game itself, narrated by the devs and Gabe Newell>"ecelebs"This site is 18+ only
JeinIt was shit in many ways, but was made half decent and then got dropped.
>>73943510I've been saying that from the beginning. It's not a 10/10 or even 8/10 game, but it isn't bad. The card system and character selection aren't perfect, but they provided a very wide variety of ways to play the game. Unfortunately, last time I tried to play it I couldn't get a single match without a sweat who just ran ahead of everyone, got downed by a sleeper, got a wave called, and then promptly left the game. I never usually like support roles, but playing as a healer in this game is fun. There's such a wide variety of cards that provide different buffs for healing that even as a healer you have multiple different builds/playstyles to choose from.Overall, I'm very glad I gave the game a shot near launch despite the bad reviews and gaymer complaining.
nope
if anything we weren't harsh enough.
>>739435283at least it was only one nig
There are plenty of things to hate about this game but I really don't understand the hate for the cards, once you unlocked enough you had access to a ridiculous degree of customization. My favorite build was one with near-instant reloads, giant magazine, ADS and sprinting disabled, and insane strafing speed. I also had one that was basically a walking laser pointer, a support healer, and a melee-focused one with insane survivability. There were genuinely a lot of ways to play the game. I do think cards were poorly explained (they don't click until a couple of YouTube videos + a lot of unlocking) but the system itself was fine. It was like Risk of Rain 2 or Binding of Isaac except you pick your items ahead of time and unlock them as you reach saferooms.
>>739440016>>739441584cards are for fat nerds with social anxiety
>>739435109no, i'm tired of l4d clones at this point. especially the special infected pins that only teammates can free you from. if you're going to do a co-op shooter, give me a good kf instead. or something unique like hd2.
>>739435109No, it was pretty bad at first. Specials were incredibly spongy, appeared in trios, and could spawn basically right next to the survivors. The only really functional builds were melee and speedrunning, and melee got nerfed shortly after launch.
>>739441847>give me a good kfThis. Have there been any games that took after KF1?
>>739435109yeah way too harsh and the card system was great to, once they removed that the game was dead.
