I can see it for RP reasons if your character considers Cameilia more valuable than a couple of foot soldiers. Even without the mythic buffs, your main companions are all pretty good fighters that are leagues above your average grunt. You cant justify cover in fantasy skirmishes in a lot of cases, because they happen in forests or caves and the like
RT benefits from having all the important bits happen either in cities or encampments which were fortified for cover combat

That honestly a better solution, because when you walk around in RT, you dont really register all the cover since its just normal for that setting, but if you walked into a room in PF with a bunch of suspiciously placed walls, you'd instantly know its a combat arena

What was the lore reason for legend mythic being so strong? It would be more thematic if you gave up the mythic power and didnt get a power up for no reason. I think they should have made it double your party size limit to make it keep up with the other paths. Could have been a cool challenge mythic, testing your game knowledge rather than combining your spellbook.

build autism isn't that bad if you just want to play on a easier difficulty and go through the game. Pretty any non retarded build will be viable on the easier difficulties, especially in WoTR where you get mythic powers that are a huge power spike.
That said I strongly recommend BubbleBuff or some other mod that helps automatically buff because the game is very buff centric but doesn't have a in-game way to automate buffs for some stupid reason, despite being such a important mechanic on any difficulty higher than the easiest. That's the only mod I'd really say is mandatory if you value your time.
