I made really good friends with the arirs and they love me and leave me big blue shrimpers in bed now and then and I found this really neat new feature of the brownie event that's called BEING FUCKING BROKEN IN VERSION 0.9 AND NOT GIVING IT TO ME REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

THE SLEEP FEEDING EVENT IS ALSO BORKED

I WANT MY SPACE YOGURT

i think it actually suits dr kel to be this nerdy emo looking loser
he's more of an on-the-ground kinda guy than a lab scientist and he lives alone and being portrayed as weird and antisocial actually benefits his character as any normalfag would go mad without much human interaction an all the weirdness going on so it fits him to be messy and filthy and look like the kinda kid that would hang out under the stairs at a mall in 2003 drinking redbull and listening to my chemical romance, plus the fact that he's supposed to be innocent, clueless, and is clearly being used by the company he works for, makes his design and personality work

it would have sucked if all the scientists were these quirky motherfuckers but they're all pretty serious or at least normal and that makes his character seem intentional and it works

I only played Abiotic Factor and Dunkeltaler Forest was in that recently as a crossover. There was literally no pressure, no threat, nothing scary and nothing to do, so it left me very confused and unsatisfied. You talk to a guy, go to a couple dishes and he gets abducted by aliens which feels like the intro to something, but it just ends there.

I'm guessing there's more to VotV than that?

VOTV is kind of an open ended game with a lot of leeway on how to play where the world does weird wacky shit around you, so yeah, trying to compress that into its own little game map is like trying to compress minecraft into a story
the actual game is very much a matter of taste, but hey i like it, and it's free so give it a try if you feel like it

Voices of the Void is based off of Signal Simulator, which was just a job sim where you monitored SETI space dishes to just perform a job. But because you were alone, there was always that vague sense of background paranoia where you think "This is very mundane so I'm pretty safe, but I still somehow feel I'm in danger." Made worse cause there were tons of little features in there that don't really do anything for you gameplay wise, like locks and codes on doors, but it FELT like the game might surprise you if you don't interact with them. On top of that, on occasion, you'd see something clearly alien in nature that would last for a few moments then probably disappear and never reappaer, leaving more questions than answers.

Voices of the Void is that, minus the subtlety, but keeping the mystery and paranoia.

Personally, I prefer Signal Simulator because I think the food and sleep mechanic introduced in VotV is utter cancer.

Makes sense. Still feels like, even in lieu of real VotV content, the Abiotic one should have used the very tiny side-plot it had to introduce a system of checking and maintaining the systems for random small rewards afterward or something. I know it's not the same kind of game. Anyway this sounds neat so I'll give it a go.

What IS Abiotic Factor? I remember wishlisting the game when it wasn't out yet expecting kind of a chore simulator in a science facility or something, but now it seems like it ain't quite that

We got to version n, is it actually playable and bug free after 14 versions or do i actually have to wait for version z
>>
>>739451159
it's a game that's constantly in development it's not gonna be perfect ever
this version is decently stable though aside from a broken event with the arirals
love the improved controls

It's a full blown adventure, with a beginning and end, that you can basically spend over 100 hours on per playthrough, I'm pretty addicted to it.

It's a horror-themed game set in the early 90s in a giant underground science facility full of monsters and portals, and you're working to escape, typically by building, sneaking and fighting your way through. You start as a semi-helpless office worker and set up a workbench and some storage boxes, then keep expanding operations until you've made a whole base, set up wherever you want. You venture out, collect new resources, then come back and assemble the next solution to your current problem.

There's a lot more you CAN do but that's the gist of what you have to do.
