If you were playing at the time, and were purely concerned with the best performance you'd go with Xbox. If you were a tendie you'd go with gamecube obviously. Dreamcast, while good has library issues. Though Ps2 was the best value if you're going used, with the largest library, and the easiest piracy at the time.Anyone claiming otherwise is looking through rose tinted glasses.
Imagine how much better the island portion would have been if they hadn't announced it for PS2 mid-development.
