That's literally the worst Burnout game that killed the series before its corpse was raped by Paradise. Revenge did so much wrong that it takes multiple posts just to explore its problems.
>>
>>739503592
it is
>>
>>739503786
BING BING WAHOOOOOOOO
>>
>>739503778
Paradise is the only good one. Burnout 3 is for braindead people
>>
>>739503838
Open World just made Burnout boring.
>>
>>739503592
Correct.

>>739503778
Incorrect. It's the PEAK of the series.
>>
>>739503592
They are the same breed I think. Both have no real tracks and are just "hey kid you did good".
>>
>>739503592
It is
>>
>>739503592
Disingenuous, but that's the gametype where crashing the ops is the goal.

Absolutely is. Horizon series is almost completely devoid of soul.
>>
Each burnout is worse than the last but 2 is still pretty good, nothing to this day beats racing down river city zhou
>>
>>739503592
look at how fast it looks
in forza you can go 400 km/h and feel like a morning commute, both visuals-wise and physics-wise
in burnout, you feel the "holy shit i'ma crash any moment" every single millisecond even at what is supposedly sub-200
>>
>>739504215
>holy shit i'ma crash any moment"
not that it actually matters if you do
>>
Burnout 2 is the best game in the series. B3 and Revenge are good casual fun, but 2 has more depth and skill.
>>
>>739503592
Boomers struggle with keeping up in modern games, so they usually stick with something they know.
Despite Forza being simply an arcade racing game, not even a semi-simulator, they still find it too hard. Back in the day they could drift around the corner at 300 mph with a single press of a spacebar. Now the game asks them to use engine to maintain the angle and, in rare cases, shift gears.
>>
It is
>>
>>739504215
Because Forza is a simcade and not an arcade racer where you can take corners at 400mph

reading comprehension
forza feels slower at 400 than burnout feels at 200
and it's not like you can't have have a simcade with good sense of speed- pro street, shift and grid all nailed that shit-your-pants-fast feeling that every man with chest hair craves
>>
>>739503592
Isn't it a different type of racing game? The car crashes and destruction was the point of these games.
>>
>>739503592
Yes

>Burnout 3 is the only good one. Paradise is for braindead people
ftfy
>>
Weird how Revenge is so ugly compared to 3.
>>
>>739507803
>pro street, shift and grid
horrible physics especially shift
need for speed and grid deserved to be dead and buried
EA did a good thing by killing these games
>>
>>739503592
bro, i dont like collecting cars or doing 500 L-turns on one map, i just want to go fast and slam my ebrake not actually slow down

They're both shit compared to the peaks of the genre. Don't @ me.
>>
>>739510878
The PS2 version of Revenge looks amazing especially at 480p. The Xbox 360 port looks awful because while they upped the resolution, they also couldn't be arsed to port any of the post-processing effects from the PS2 version so it ends up looking weirdly flat and boring.
>>
>>739503838
paradise is the worse of the good burnout games though
>>
>>739503592
Imagine Zoomers playing this without rewind
>>
WE ARE THE LAZY GENERATION
>>
>>739503592
Holy fuck the interruptions are grating
Can you turn it off?
>>
>>739512929
No you can't kek
>>
>>739503592
Being able to crash into normal cars with no consequence was boring. 3 and Paradise are better and shit on Forza.
>>
>>739503592
It's not $70 so it's automatically better
>>
>>739503592
thats not takedown, thats revenge. shitty filename
>>
>>739512929
You 100% can in burnout 3. not sure about revenge though, i havent played it in years.
its not that big of a deal anyways since this is takedown mode where youre trying to get as many takedowns as possible, in normal races they're not nearly as frequent
>>
>>739503778
It's funny how backwards this is. Paradise literally killed the series. That's why you haven't seen a game in that franchise in two decades.

The open world was terrible and is antithetical to Burnout's core design and gameplay loop. It also looked ugly, played worse, and had a terrible soundtrack outside of one or two meme songs.

Burnout Revenge on the other hand was peak. Literally has one of the best soundtracks of all time, the online was amazing, very fast and exciting and still holds up to this day.

>Paradise literally killed the series
what?
need for speed hot pursuit killed burnout
EA killed burnout because nfs was more succesful
>>
>>739517042
So Paradise killed the franchise for being a relative failure, thank you for confirming.
>>
It was cool and fuck you nigger basement chudtranny, i didmt even bother to write it correctly because im eslgod and youre fat and filled with aids
>>
>>739517160
No you retard, Paradise was such a success that Criterion got to try making an NFS game which was their idea, but HP2010 sold so well that they were locked forever in the NFS mines by EA
>>
>>739517775
No, Paradise was such a failure they got relegated to being a slop maker for a larger franchise. That doesn't happen if your game is a success.

Neversoft didn't "succeed" when they got "promoted" to being a studio for COD and Guitar Hero. Tony Hawk simply stopped being worth the development costs. Just like your shitty Burnout Paradise.
>>
whats the best racing game i can play on pc? ideally i dont have to emulate. i want to try forza motorsport 4 but the emulation looks iffy.
>>
>>739503592
These aren’t better racing games but it’s a great loss that we don’t have many underground racing games anymore
>>

Holy shit, I'd lover another classic Burnout game.

>>
>>739503592
I greatly prefer racing games that encourage ramming and otherwise wanton destruction, with a boost system that rewards you for doing that. I think Forza being a serious racing game is fine but its not my cup of tea since crashes and otherwise making contact with other races is massively discouraged.
>>
>>739503778

Nah sorry unc Revenge is kino
>>
>>739503592
and you would a straight face would disagree?

Forza is the marvelsop of racing. It even has the trannie flags.

>game is so frenetic that takedowns aren't hampering your enjoyment of the game, they give you a second to breath
>tracks full of traffic cars you can blast into orbit, but trucks and incoming traffic is still dangerous
>road is overall a straight line with deviations so you can focus on surviving and fucking things up

goldkino tier gameplay loop, paradise dropped the ball with the open town forcing you to check the map whenever you're racing AND it makes all the races samey

Holy based. No other racing game compares to 4za. The atmosphere, soundtrack, car lists and multiplayer - perfection.
>>
>>739503592
Not used to seeing Revenge witout the 360's brown filter. With this color pallet I can't help but wonder how many assets were straight up reused from 3. I swear this is like 75% of a Burnout 3 city level, just rearranged with some new assets here and there.
>>
>>739511936
Forza 4 was the first game in the searis I skipped out on. Feels bad hearing in retrospect that it was the peak of the franchise, but at that time I was so annoyed at how badly they bungled the online multiplayer in 3 that I decided I was done with it.
>>
>>739503592
They aren't really comparable. Burnout is too far down the arcade side of the scale. Forza and NFS can be compared but Burnout is closer to something like Crazy Taxi. All great games btw.
>>
>>739522663
this is fair because it doesn't matter what you play, retards are going to treat it like burnout anyway. Chasing clean racing online will drive you insane. Wreckfest is really fun for "grounded vehicle combat".
>>
Burning laps and crash junctions are the good parts of Burnout. The actual head to head races are the worst part.
>>
>>739518981
Need for Speed Underground 2
>>
>>739504215
>you feel the "holy shit i'ma crash any moment"
But that's also all there is, in forza it's actually quite interesting and technical to simply turn a corner, your vehicle will spin out in interesting ways, you will counter steer and fight to bring it under control and that's all fun. Burnout is just 1 note ahhh don't crash, which gets old pretty quick.

There's a reason arcade racers are dead while even normies start to adopt simcade mechanics.

As fun as the aggression encouraging gameplay is, I miss the almost anxiety inducing intensity of "if you even think about touching another car, you're fucking dead"
