What does it need other than a massive non-linear open world?
The exact opposite. More density. More sidequests and NPC interactions. Make more to do with each familiar area.
>>739515893lots of new shit that wasn't in the original. make it a much bigger, new game that's just loosely inspired by the original. the origiinal already exists and we can play it anytime, and the remake already exists if we want a modern version. There's no reason to make a 3rd version of the exact same game. They should get funky with it
>>739516654Exactly, a massive open world. But what else
>>739515893no, fuck open world, make it as linear as possible with levels, yes I know the original had a world fuck that
make the fishing minigame bigger.
>>739516751>They should get funky with itI like the idea of it starting out as adult Link and the second half of the game is young Link
It being a gotcha where the Kid Link plays the same as OG, but once you Master Sword it up, you're in a whole other game.
>>739516853We should be able to fish on lake hylia, at least after the dungeon for sure
>>739515893We should unironically be able to choose to pursue one of Link's romantic interests
>>739516998>Morpha has a secret fishing boss phase>you can put it on display in the fishing pond if you have an empty bottle in your inventory
>>739516853Finish the running man sidequestmake it so the masks do stuff Maybe add a randomizer
>>739515893Choice at the end to stay or go back in time just for the timeline discourse meltdowns.
>>739515893>forcing open world meme onto a remasterBoy am I glad you don't make video games. It just needs to fill Hyrule Field with something
>>739516808>Majora's Mask is open world
>>739515893It needs amazing music with real instruments, the orchestrations don't have to be too over the top, just do the music justice. Also making the swordplay more interesting and fleshed out could be cool, I heard they really wanted to nail that in the original game.
>>739515893>massive non-linear open world? It fucking does not need that. It needs a fuller, more feature rich but still linear world.BoTW already exists for all the sandbox kids.
>>739518742>memeshitters kys
>>739515893I hope it comes with Master Quest like 3D did, plus other QOL stuff>using the D-Pad to assign specific songs or even items to swap out for the ones on the face buttons, or at least have ZL/ZR specifically be for lock on and shield so L/R can be for items>side quest list to keep track of what you have and haven't done>objective markers so you can pin something for laterThat's really all I can think of honestly
>>739519461>It fucking does not need that. It needs a fuller, more feature richopen world>but still linearNo
>>739519461So what you're saying is that it needs a massive open world.
>>739519505>I hope it comes with Master QuestIt doesn't need it, with the redesigned dungeons it will have. What it should get is hero mode, no heart drops, 2x damage, no bottle fairies.
>>739519612>redesigned dungeons>hero mode with no heart drops, double damage, etc. That's just 3D's Master Quest, they combined both into one with that one. I don't even know what they'd do to redesign the dungeons, how can we be so sure that's what they'll do?
>>739519795The puzzles in the original are very simplistic and everybody knows the solutions if they had played it. You can count on them being redesigned. Similar motifs but different solutions across the board.
>>739516751>and the remake already exists if we want a modern versionOcarina of Time doesn't have a remake.>b-but the 3DS versionThat's a remaster. The game is still running on N64 code below the hood, they just gave it nicer textures and improved the frame rate. Also, it's on a dead system.I do believe Ocarina of Time will get more than just a straight remake, mostly because Monolith is supposedly developing it, but getting the same exact game with a new coat of paint would still have a lot of value in Nintendo's eyes. Just look at the new Star Fox.
It will be shit if it's even real. You are unironically a shill if you think otherwise.
>>739519898>Ocarina of Time doesn't have a remake.yes it does
>>739519898look it up, there was a remake already
>>739519898>mostly because Monolith is supposedly developing itTheir help is a bit exaggerated. For instance they helped on Skyward Sword, localization and writing dialogue.
>>739515893Actual mechanics, characters that aren't cardboard cutouts, non-linear progression, puzzles that aren't braindead lock and key stuff, bosses that aren't gimmicks built around stunning them with a tool you just got, dungeons not being built around one tool you get in them or right before them. Basically it needs to be nothing like OoT outside of the story if it's to be good.
>non-linear I highly doubt they're doing anything but a remake and OoT is not a non-linear game by design
>>739520225That's the difference though. If Project Legacy really is the Ocarina of Time remake, it would be the first time Monolith developed a Zelda game themselves, instead of just being a support studio.
>God, I hope a remake of this linear game is non-linearWhy is linear suddenly the worst thing in the world?
>>739520980>Why is linear suddenly the worst thing in the world?Because some of us grew up playing Zelda games older than OoT and don't feel the need to pretend that the way OoT did things was good because we played it during impressionable years.
>>739521047>people like thing I don't???>they're either pretending or nostalgia goggles!
>>739521227Not or, because of. Learn to read.
>>739520980Not to mention that unlike later games you could do dungeons out of order slightly in OOT. I haven't myself but I know you can, all they'd have to do is indicate that you can do some out of order
>>739521047Fucking based. I swear every OoT worshipping limp dick on this site played it as their first Zelda game and are mindbroken by how the series use to have way more variety before OoT locked it into that style of game for like 500 years.Zelda 1 was life. BotW is an interesting and fun reimaging of that style of game. If we ever get a dark souls style reimaging of Zelda 2 as well that too would be great. Learn to enjoy multiple things Anons, it stops your soul from going rotten with age.
The only female characters that we see across Past and Future that are both always accessible(unlike the Sages) and attractive instead of horrifying like the Potion Shop Granny or the fat woman with the dog, are Malon and Anju.So they need to give Anju a fat ass.
>>739521471I don't remember Zelda 1 having ubisoft towers
>>739515893please god no
>>739521387Yeah I remember doing forest temple later and in subsequent playthroughs realizing my mistake. No bow sucks ass.
>>739521471>the subhuman seaniggers infesting this board have pivoted to pretending Legend of Zelda (NES) was in any way, shape, or form like fucking BotWPraying for a meteor.
>>739520673I don't want Monolithsoft wasting any more time on Zelda than then already waste on supporting 3D Zelda team, but if they were making their own Zelda game, then I'd rather it be a completely original action JRPG.
>>739521860retard
>>739521698I don't remember any Zelda having them.
>>739521047You mean the way ALTTP did things right?
>>739522047LoZ and LttP are far better games, especially with respect to exploration. LA is a far better game with respect to puzzles and dungeons. OoT has always sucked, and no amount of OoTrannies screaming about BotW will change that.
>>739521575You're forgetting Fado, the other kokiri girls and the Gerudo. Also, the Bombchu girl does survive in the adult timeline, though we never actually see her until the credits.Bombchu girl should reward with a fresh bottle of milk as an extra every time you win btw.
>>739521860They've been pretending that since it came out. As if BOTW didn't sell vastly more copies than any other game in the franchise and the vast majority were zoomers who never played another Zelda game before it, let alone the first one. It really doesn't have all that much in common with Zelda 1 anyway. Yes, Zelda 1 was non-linear, but it still had a lot of structure and tasks you had to complete to beat the game. It wasn't just a meaningless collectathon where you were handed all your abilities at the start of the game and could walk right up to Ganon. It had actual, meaningful progression, you just had some flexibility in the way you progressed. And even then, you couldn't just do anything in any order. You could do a lot of stuff in the overworld before tackling dungeons, but a lot of stuff still had to be completed in sequence. Anyway, none of these fucking kids have ever actually played Zelda 1. I think Zelda games could benefit from more freedom and non-linearity, but BOTW goes way too far with it to the point that it actually becomes a detractor. There is a balance to be had. ALBW for example actually does a way better job of realizing freedom within the Zelda formula.
They need to dust off the original OoT documents and make the game they wanted to make, but couldn't due to time and hardware setbacks. Everything that was cut is now implemented. Also, once you beat OoT, you move into a proper remake of Majora's Mask.
>>739520980It was always bad, new friend.
>>739522781Why is it bad?
>>739521471>played it as their first Zelda game and are mindbroken by how the series use to have way more variety before OoT locked it into that style of game for like 500 years100% spot on
>>739521698>>739521939forgot about the fishman in Wind Waker? the mapstations in Super Metroid? Nintendo invented those towers
>>739522639>still doing this song and dance where they ignore Botw is literally a throwback to previous series conventionwhy do you fags try this shit everytime, I get you dont like Botw, you're wrong to do so, but it still is the most baffling exercise you could do
>>739518061i want to fuck all the loli versions so bad. get those hags out of here tho
>>739518061This.
>>739521872Monolith is much bigger now than when Nintendo bought them, and keeps expanding. They can work on new projects and Xenoblade at the same time. If anything, not letting them give Zelda their own unique spin would be a waste of talent, especially given Nintendo's newfound appreciation for the story elements of a game.A massively expanded Ocarina of Time remake seems like the ideal test for how well they can develop Zelda in that direction.
>>739515893A linear narrative that is full of goodies
Linear as child. Open as adult.
>>739521047Growing up is realizing the oldfags are just as bad as the zoomers. OG Zelda is nothing like BotW, and no the new Starfox designs don't look like the original designs either.
>>739523690Honestly sounds like the best way of doing it. The child section is a glorified tutorial, but once it's over the game's like "good luck dipshit" and you can do the dungeons in any order.
>>739522815Because he has ADHD and wants to run around everywhere and loses interest when a game has actual depth to it
>>739515893Am I the only one who thinks that if they'e remaking OoT, they should also bundle in a remake MM using the same assets? If they're going to resell us a 30 year old game with upgraded graphics, surely a $80 game should get us both OoT AND MM?
>>739524675How about this: stop it with the fucking remakes. Make new games.
>>739524675MM gives me the ick. They should include a faithful remaster with the new graphics along with an actual remake
>>739515893>Lake Hylia has it's own town>Fishing is expanded to the entire lake, with a full encyclopedia of fish to catch>Different lures and baits that can be made from monster parts that you've killed on your journey>Some fish only appear at night, and can only be caught with certain lures/bait combos>The river leading into Zora's domain now has a small town as well for river fishing>The small encampment near the Gerudo camp is also expanded, and has it's own fishing scene as well>Can buy houses in each of the major areas (Castle Town, Kakariko, Lon Lon, Gerudo Camp, and Zora's Domain)>Houses can be furnished with different furniture, wallpapers and floorings>Can grow fruits and veggies for potions and fish bait>Can only make these at your houses, at a stove or oven>Can add a forge outside of your house to temporarily boost your sword's and shield's stats using parts that you collect from enemies and other means>Craftable upgrades to your items, like a remote detonator for bomb-chus, bigger bomb explosions, deku nuts stun and hurt enemies, spread shot for the slingshot, extra damage for arrows, ect>Can upgrade child weapons for adult Link to use>Happy Mask quest is expanded, with more masks>All masks have special abilities now, and some are even tied to other quests>Redead mask can stun enemies like deku nuts, Bunny hood adds a jump, Keaton mask lets you see Keaton (quiz quest), and run fast (like a fox), Zora mask lets you swim faster and dive deeper, Goron mask lets you throw things further, Skull kid mask makes your attacks faster, ect>Can buy other horses from Lon Lon>Whole sidequest where you get Lon Lon Ranch back to Talon and Malon and beat Ingo's ass>Cucco breeding minigame, where you can raise cuccos with different traits (Chao Garden), for Anju in Kakariko Village.
>>739515893MY MOM!
>>739524262Sounds like he should just play Minecraft
>>739525089>Whole sidequest where you get Lon Lon Ranch back to Talon and Malon and beat Ingo's assThere's already a sidequest for that. You don't personally beat up Ingo because it doesn't make sense to do so, he's just a normal guy.
it will be trash no matter what they do, sorry
>>739515893It doesn't need anything beyond a visual upgrade. Extra content under >>739516654 would be a nice bonus
>>739519898>Ocarina of Time doesn't have a remake.3DS.
I don't think it needs a massive world, but Hyrule Field and connecting areas do need a bit of a revamp to be larger and more interesting. Maybe give extra characterization here and there to more minor characters.
Man, can they just announce this Ocarina remake shit already? I’m tired of there being zero games to talk about on Switch because they’ve all been babby shit you can beat over a single weekend.
>>739515893Fuck the dating sim fags, let us build friendships with all the sages (though obviously there can still be some soft romantic tones with Ruto and maybe Saria). Let us pal with whichever sages we've saved and see them comment on shit throughout the game.
>>739526802thats what nintendo is now you best get over it
>>739526981>Saria's Song does shit after the Forest Temple and you can choose what sage you want to talk to mite b cool
>>739526802Two more weeks unironically
>>739527267Three weeks at the latest hopefully. I want to see what Nate says, he was going to talk about it but delayed his info drop until after Memorial Day.
>>739522982it may have been loosely inspired by the original Zelda but ultimately bears little resemblance, and I'm sick of the larping zoomet faggots who never played a Zelda game prior to BOTW suddenly pretending like they were all massive fans of the original and using it to justify the open world slop when that's never what Zelda 1 was really about. you don't even have an actual argument to anything I said, just more larping. it's weak.
>>739526981Pretty sure the Sages are either dead or have "ascended" from their mortal form.
it needs to not be made and its not bang made stop relying on rumors
