Edgeworth was lying when he said this. It makes no sense whatsoever for the note to be fake in light of the events of the case. Edgeworth's just BSing here because he knows no one's going to actually challenge him on this and he wants to keep the trial going just as much as Wright does - he's just heard that even Gumshoe has broken the law to get the evidence to court faster, so he feels the need to break barriers himself. He never reveals this to anyone at the end which is a bit strange, but I guess he didn't want Phoenix to feel further in his debt/resentful because "oh this is just the von Karma method shining through". Maybe he subtly lets Franziska know off-screen to make her feel like she has some leverage over him, knowing she'll never use it?
Maybe Celeste just didn't write a note at all because she didn't give a shit anymore.

>>739517621not her handwriting. ergo, it's a forgery
>>739520437the point is that we don't actually know if it's her handwriting or not - the handwriting experts themselves are never on screen, and edgeworth has the motive, means, and opportunity to lie about what they said
