How would you save Starcraft?
>>
Starcraft was never good
>>

give it an n64 port
>>

Patch brood war to nerf zealots, zerglings, mutalisks, deflier, and buff ghosts

Scout now cost 225/100 instead of 275/125.
Genuinely the only unit that has been consistently useless in 25 years of changes in meta.

Open world time management, you have 12 hours to crush the Zerg and Protoss incursion before it's too late.
>>
considering modern Blizzard I would leave it in the past.
>>
>>739519163
if I were in charge at Microsoft or Blizzard I would most definitely port Starcraft 2 on Switch 2 and drop Starcraft 1 on NSO

By reverting everyones age back to 10.

RTS are 90% clicking speed. Im not really sure how you keep that appealing to people who arent enthralled with the little guys fighting eachother(kids) or the people who dont have fast click speeds.
I grew up on fighting games and starcraft, and I eventually realized that they basically work off the same mind games, but starcraft has an unlimited "skill" ceiling regarding click speed which is just turbo autism that will never appeal to more than a few dozen asian guys

Guess it's a good thing you're not in charge. Can you imagine how terrible it would be to play Starcraft on a console? SC64 is a meme for a reason

>Genuinely the only unit that has been consistently useless in 25 years of changes in meta
reminder that our boy mini won an ASL with non-ironical scout usage versus perfidious armory skipping terran

Reduce ghost upgrade cost and times, and maybe increase ghosts starting energy from 50 to 60, goes to 70 with upgrade.
Lockdown would be 150 minerals, 150 gas, and 60 seconds instead of 200/200 100 seconds. as it stands ghosts are hard to use to counter carrier because once you see it is carrier and go ghost tech it will take you at minimum 2 minutes and 20 seconds for 1 lockdown per barracks you have, thats assuming it comes from an uncloaked ghost and carrier can just outrange your lockdown anyways. its going to be closer to 5 minutes per barracks if you want cloaked ghost to deal with carrier. after the first ghost is made you need to wait another 80 seconds for another (uncloaked) lockdown to be generated from barracks. This is not accounting for fastest times because the first wiki i looked at didnt use it so i didnt use math around it.

Theres too much investment from terrans part for a unit that needs more micro to land the lockdown than it takes to avoid the lockdown from the protoss, it doesnt make sense.

No game lives forever, let it be what it is and make a new starcraft game already. The story in 2 is complete dogshit but the campaign's are the best of any RTS, and the actual gameplay is wildly fun despite being so different from starcraft 1. both games are good.

Then why can people with less APM win?

>but in top 0.01% you need high apm and-
You aren't playing in top 0.01%. Do you go around calling every game garbage just because you aren't the best?
>>
>>739521772
Because the ranked system is matching you with similar APM players.
You are perma hardstuck until you increase APM

If the RTS and starcraft community suddenly went extremely casual and catered to children it could work, but in "the first esport" with the hyper competetive nature, APM is way too much a determining factor for anyone to ever give a shit
>>
>>739522280
No. It's matching you with similar skill/performance. And your skill is more than just your apm. It's combination of everything the game has. So someone can have high apm but be lacking in other areas and vice versa.

This happens in Warcraft 3 for me all the time. I can barely get to 100 apm while some of my opponents get 300 but I am still able to compete against them because I have better tactics and effective apm than them.

Blizzard human proportions are so fucked up, isn't Raynor like 6 feet? There's no way he could fit in that suit without tearing himself apart.
>>
>>739519163
What does it need saving from?
>>
>>739519163
By stopping the Activision-Blizzard merger, Bobby Kotick's ascension to CEO, and erasing the game-killing EULA clause which gives Blizzard ownership of any and all custom maps and mods made for SC2. Their RTS games literally lived and died by the mapmaking community keeping their games alive way longer than they should have.
Blizzard could have had their e-sports autism AND a thriving community had it not been for that EULA clause, but they chose to snuff out what little embers remained of the RTS genre's peak than lose out on another DotA.

>Get rid of this thing which had no affect on modding
