>casually has the potential to become moon size and obtain powers similar to Void Termina.
These freaking flowers man, I always knew they were hardcore. Also Yoshi thread.
>>
>>739522298
there must be some bizarre powers hidden within this species considering how powerful amazy dayzees are.
>>
Anyone else feel bad at all the murder required to 100% this game? I just fed way too many depressed flowers to sea urchins and now I feel like the bad guy
>>
>>739523084
Yeah, it feels bad man.
>>
>>739522701
The exp they give, though.
>>
so what's the /v/erdict
All I've heard is that it's baby-tier difficulty, you literally can't take damage or "die" in any meaningful way, and it's more of a puzzle game than an action platformer
>>
>>739525113
Game is adorable but too expensive for what it is, it should 40 dollars.
>>
>>739525113
Not bad, but too expensive.
>>
>>739525113
I've only played through the first world and about half of the 2nd. It's a decent game and naming the enemies is a fun gimmick, but it's a bit jarring to go from a game like Tomodachi last month where you can make anyone say anything to a game like Yoshi with a character limit of 10 and a pretty heavy word filter. I honestly feel like the word filter should be applied system wide and able to be turned off for singleplayer games with no online features like this Yoshi game but I digress. The moment to moment gameplay is fun and the assessment of puzzle platformer is entirely accurate as the main goal is to interact with the enemies rather than get to a goal with precise jumps. You carry them around as well as items in the stage like fruits which you can get them to interact with as well. A lot of the gameplay is just bringing things to other things to make them interact. These interactions get you stars that accumulate and unlock new chapters in the book that have more levels and it's your main form of progression. There's also a lot of nonlinear elements to it too since doing a thorough enough job in World 1 unlocked Worlds 2-4 which can seemingly be done in any order I please. The control is rock solid too. The artstyle feels very true to to the original and the notes on the enemies are charming. This isn't a game you're playing for any kind of plot or urgency, or skill testing, this is laid back shit to get high and chill out with. It's not even remotely intense, at least as far as I played. There was a "boss fight" against Bowser Jr. and Kamek that was just them getting trapped in a bubble, me hitting that bubble 3 times as they did nothing but helplessly flail around inside of it, and them blaming me for trapping them in said bubble after freeing them. It was goofy at best and a complete pacekiller at worst since it stops you in your tracks for pre&post "battle" dialogue. Overall pretty God but I can't really say it's anything special.

Don't forget the dark dayzees in super paper mario.

>Google these dark dayzees
>Thought they would be a dayzee with purple petals and an angry face.
>Turns out they are literally dark.
What the fuck?
>>
>>739526298
So... it's a good or bad game?
>>
>>739527816
Too early to judge for me. It's alright for now but it could get better or could get worse. Given the track record of Yoshi games being kinda hit or miss, I feel like this is a fair assessment for having only finished the first world.
>>
>>739526662
That was the gimmick of the dungeon it was in, if I recall. Super Paper Mario had two Pits of 100 Trials, with the second more difficult version having all of its enemies silhouetted so you can't actually tell which version of which enemy you're jumping on.
>>
>>739527979
That...sucks.
>>
>>739527816
Its a whatever game. Gonna be forgotten by next week just like Peach Showtime when it first came out.
>>
>>739522298
The game is currently in first place in the eshop, I wanna say this means it is a success but Metroid Prime 4 was also on first place for a while and that hame ended up being confirmed at failure.
>>
>>739528080
That game ended up selling 1 million in 10 days. Say what you want about it but it wasn't a failure.
>>
>>739525113
It's actually good, but really different which may be off putting to some. Yes, you can't die, but that's because it's a puzzle game and doesn't focus on the action at all. Dying wouldn't even change much. Difficulty isn't anything Baba is You tier, but 100% is sufficiently challenging and the game does surprisingly little to hold your hand. It's pretty slow paced, but there's a surprising amount of content and unique mechanics. I'd recommend it if you like puzzle games and abstract problem solving
>>
>>739522298
All the reviewers got this game wrong, they judged it as a plataformer when is a actually a puzzle collectaton.
>>
>>739526376
don't forget tippi says they're actually scowling instead of being cheery. good thing dayzees usually mind their own business instead of actually try to cause any damage.
>>
"For kids" my ass. Some of this stuff is impossible for children to figure out.
>>
>>739528609
Like?
>>
>>739528609
Yeah, the more I play the more clear it is that the shitposters have zero clue what they are talking about. They had a script prepared for this game and it turned out nothing like anyone was expecting
>>
>>739528706

Those weird little running guys in Chapter 2, for starters.
>>
>>739528706
nta but I recently got stuck in a level with whistling snails, and there was a section with water and floating. The snails would whistle differently depending on if you were in the water vs. on the logs. There was one discovery that involved jumping back and forth along the logs without falling to create a specific tune, and another that involved jump exclusively in the water and avoiding the logs for another. If that sounds obtuse it's because it is
>>
>>739528975
*water and floating logs.
Fuck, rewrote that part
>>
>>739528070
It's SPM. It's to be expected, and most of the enemies in there can be cheesed with Bowser on the platform pixel thing while spewing out fire in midair.
>>
>>739522298
I love these niggies so much.
>>
>>739525113
Wario can't die either. It's just schizo babble again.
>>
>>739522298
After what happened to paper mario, the fact a game indirectly related to Mario is all about studying critters, both old and new, is extremely irony in a satisfying way.
>>
>>739522298
I think this game is getting dogpilled because it is the only Nintendo's game release in may. But that is unfair, game production has become too complicate, in the past Nintendo would have release this together with a "big game" but they cannot longer do multiple game releases in a short time.
>>
>>739529886
One game a month has been pretty standard for Nintendo throughout the entirely of the Switch's life though. Yoshi's crafted world was the only march game of 2019, and there were zero games in the February before it. Shitposters have been absolutely deranged for every switch 2 release. idgaf if people want to make excuses for why that might be. it's true.
>>
>>739529886
I don't care about any of that shit you said, I don't give a fuck about nintendo's performance as a company or how often they're supposed to hit their milestones or whatever the FUCK

It's been 20 fucking years
>>
>>739530184
God yoshi's island faggots are the worst. This game isn't trying to be Yoshi's Island and that's fine. If you're not interested in what it's trying to be, then fuck off and stop making up shit about this game that patently isn't true.

that's not what I said faggot. In fact, I hope you never get another "proper" yoshi game again. I'm just saying you're nothing but a whinny bitch shitting up threads with no knowledge of or interest in the game you're being a fuckwad about. If it's a thread about "the future of Yoshi" then bitch and moan to your hearts content, but in threads like this people just want to discuss the game, so piss off already

I don't care what anyone says, this is Good-Feel's most creative game by far, and it leans into their talents a lot more than most of the other generic shit they work on. I hope we see them go down this route more in the future.
>>
Does this game fumble in the second half or something that critics were giving it 6's and 7's? Because so far it's easily the best nintendo game since odyssey
>>
>>739534614
Most gave it at least an 8, and it was just a few people that gave it 6s/7s. The dissenters are just upset it focuses on puzzles instead of action, and they wanted it to be more like classic Yoshi's Island. I think that's a fair desire, but it's kind of a bullshit thing to complain about in a review

>>739525113

I love how unique this game is. You know how people always plug slop by saying shit like "it's like zelda, castlevania, and bloodborne all mixed in one?" You cannot say that about this game. I have played it, to chapter 3. It's literally trial and error: the game. Combine this thing with that thing and see what happens. I can't see how anyone would dispute this.

Crazee Dazees can become trees, one of them just happened to have lived this way for so long that it literally grew into space with its head growing big enough to be a full moon while its mind became "permanently dazed", the back story of the game is that in the distant past this "moon" fell off of the massive tree, fell like an asteroid into Yoshi Island and killed everything, before this someone created the titular book which copied all the creatures inside of it so they can survive (a backup) but it also copied the moon too so the world inside the book is in danger of being destroyed so Yoshi has to fight the essence of the moon crazee dayzee.

It's really good at what it does so you'll enjoy it as long as you don't expect a regular 2D platformer, though it's hard to set your expectations for it as it's not easily compared to any existing game. It's a puzzle platformer but not in the sense of having to solve enviromental puzzles to progress, rather it's very open and you're supposed to experiment with whatever creature and object you come across to discover unique interactions. Compared to other recent Good Feel games I can say it's leagues ahead of Yoshi's Crafted World and Princess Peach Showtime. It's very different from the likes of Woolly World or Bakeru but you can tell they put just as much care into it and even more creativity.

I love this game, my current GOTY.

I did this, not saying it's a perfect explanation, but my combination was
>Yoshi's Island x Yoshi's Story x Mario Wonder x Wario Land 2
>>
>Crafted World 100%
>can only collect one souvenir at a time then you're booted out of the level, applies to both regular and reverse courses meaning you have to go through most of each level anywhere from six to ten times to fully complete it. Pure cancer
>Princess Peach Showtime
>can theoretically do everything in one go but there are tons of points of no return so you're liable to miss one-time Sparkle Gems and immediately go past one of said points, requiring you to restart the whole level. Hidden Theet are unlocked in each level postgame and can also be got all at once. Considerably less annoying.
>Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
>you can spend coins to reveal another discovery while still in a level, some can be permanently missed in a run but restarting and trying again takes very little time due to most levels being small and non-linear. If a discovery isn't in a creature's debut level, the menu will load you directly into the relevant level.
I haven't got to postgame yet so for all I know there might be some extremely shitty padding lying in wait, but for now I see they relearned how not to annoy the player for no reason.

Are Yoshi and Kirby the same universe now?
>>
I checked and the composer of Crafted World got banished to just doing sound effects after that game, thank god.

>You tendies
Aand there it is, good job exposing yourself, retard.

What was wrong with the score? It can't be any worse than new island.

No?
Why would you think that
Those enemies are in Yoshis Island
>>
Did that guy ever post his timestamped playtime of the game?
Or did he confirm he was just pretending that he played it?

You could use New Island and Crafted World music as a torture device by forcing someone to listen to a track from each in each ear:

He confirmed he's a faggot who just looked up shit on the internet, and instead of using any time to prove themself, they spent the whole time shitposting instead.

Tennis, MK and Pokopia are all good

How long would the game take to 100%? I’m considering getting it, but I may just wait to rent it from the library after all the kids have had their fun with it

Because of the last boss...

Haven't finished yet but I've seen 20 hours thrown around which sounds plausible from where I'm at.
>>
>>739550791
I've heard 20h for 100%. It takes a while to complete each world so far, so it sounds plausible.

Here is a vid with all the creatures.

Also loads of lore in chapter 12.

But it's not common to see Yoshi eaten.

With this game coming out so early and Good Feel being able to develop two games at once as seen by Bakeru and Princess Peach Showtime, I wonder what else they'll release on Switch 2. There's a rumor about a new Wario Land which I could see them do.
