How did uncs beat this without save states or rewind back in the day?
>>
>>739527763
we didn't play on laggy modern displays or laggy emulators

get a monitor with a low response time, download retroarch and enable hard gpu sync and run-ahead low latency options if you want to come close to how it would have felt playing it back in the day

or get a CRT and a real SNES
>>
Dude, we get it. You suck at videogames. You don't need to inform us like 300 times.
>>
>>739528395
it's not just a matter of sucking, I literally can't play Super Mario World without sucking ass either unless I use the low latency options I mentioned earlier. The problem is the way most zoomies are playing the game is not at all equivalent to how we did when we were kids

If you're going to post this every day then I'm going to post my objectively correct tier list every day as well.

*list assumes 100% completion

contra was harder

Because uncs were better than you.

Fuck off, I played it and the collection on SNES back in the day then beat it and multiple other games like DK country on emulators several times, including emulators from over a decade ago on a shitty rig. You just suck fucking ass at videogames and want to peddle some some random bullshit to make yourself feel better or to scam someone.
>>
>>739529172
okay cool I played games with shitty lag too, you get used to it but it's a fucking terrible experience. Playing it with the low latency options in RetroArch enabled is like a night and day difference. There's no reason to put up with lag if you don't have to
>>
>>739528597
Was Sunshine really that hard?
I 100%d it on the GC and found it easy enough (except the pachinko stage and that disintegrating lily pad) since the water hover thing was a huge buffer.
Even the volcano I didn't have much of a problem with because I sprayed water with quick button clicks, so I was going through it at a snail's pace.
>>
>>739528308
>response time
That has absolutely nothing to do with input lag.
Response time is how long a pixel takes to change colour and the higher the response time the more motion blur.

Also the figures quoted are complete horse shit. There is no industry standard methodology for measuring the time, and so manufacturers are free to literally make up a number.
>>
>>739529526
Finding all 240 blue coins without a guide is legitimately hard.
>>
>>739527763
Using save states and rewind is causing damage.
It does 2 things.
1) you never get any better when you rely on them
2) it skews your perception of difficulty. When you use them, your skill doesn't improve, and therefore you end up believing that the game is far more difficult than it actually is.

Stop using them for god's sake.
>>
>>739528684
Contra 1 is piss easy.
You get the spread gun in level 1, as soon as you have it you just keep moving and firing and you'll finish it in about 15 minutes.

It's the sequels that are harder.
Especially the US versions because the localizers made them more difficult. They messed up the snes and megadrive ones big time.

>Mario 64 on hard and above World
Huh? 64 is pretty fucking easy with the exception of like 3 stages and even then the game's really forgiving. It might take a while to 100% for a casual player but I can't think of anything in it that even comes close to the star worlds or super secret worlds in SMW.
>>
We got blue yoshi ASAP and farmed lives at the Top Secret Area.
>>
>>739529784
I guess I lucked out since I got them without looking up anything. Wound up cheesing the lily pad stage by slowly walking along the edges instead.
>>
>>739529809
What about modding in indefinite invincibility star power? Mario 3D Land had this so I think that's allowed surely? Some of the enemies fly into you out of nowhere and it's kind of unfair honestly.
>>
>>739527763
What brand of autism compels a man to make threads every day to proclaim how much he sucks at an SNES game?
>>
>>739528597
Galaxy has some pretty bullshit challenges. Still pretty doable, but nowhere near baby mode.
64's difficulty is also overrated, the game is actually pretty straightfoward and you don't need to be particularly good to completely clear it.
>>
>>739529950
I did it without a guide too but it took forever, I ended up spraying literally every corner of the entire map of every level and the hub. The one in the moon of Pianta Village was especially bullshit.
>>
>>739527763
>only five lives
>die in one hit
i'm a zoomer and I grew up playing this, you can have more than 5 lives and you don't die with one hit.
>>
>>739528308
A well configured pc has less latency than consoles even without stuff like runahead
>>
>>739529927
>It might take a while to 100% for a casual player
Bingo.
It's all well and good that you know where all the stars are now, but in the 90s with no guides, some of the stars are tricky to find.
>>
>>739530221
Personal shitters have 3 frames of latency are you kidding? The CPU even has latency on a PC
>>
>>739530201
If i remember right all lives above 5 get removed once you quit and load and yes it's 2-3 hits, even more if you have Yoshi. Anon was going for the worst possible scenario
>>
>>739527763
by skipping 90% of the stages with the cape
it's why smb3 is much harder
>>
>>739527763
How many more times you gonna make this thread, champ?
>>
>>739529905
and now i say, “you have a learning disability”
>>
>>739530131
there was a level there where you have to shoot water into the air to get the star, so knowing that makes it slightly more intuitive to try it on other levels of that map.
>>739527763
I only played the gba version and there were tons of green shrooms. why did you only have 5 lives?

>tfw had absolutely zero problems the entire time in 3d land
>took 50+ lives to do final level
i think i died on the first jump like 20 times because i couldn't be fucked waiting 5 seconds for the thing to roll down
>>
>>739527763
Bait? I'll bite.
The game is very generous with extra lives.
You don't die in one hit if you have a power up or Yoshi.
The physics aren't slippery at all nor does it require pixel precision unless you're playing a kaizo version or something.
