It was the first result when I looked for an RTX 5060 gaming PC on Amazon anyway, I wouldn't buy some chink pre-built in the first place, but that's besides the point.

If you were lucky enough to have built a PC before the price hikes you just tough it out.
Otherwise you either suck it up and pay more, or you look for something like a used desktop workstation you can upgrade with a modern mid-range GPU.
Apparently 10-th gen i7 systems can be found at reasonable prices now, so you could build something good enough for 500 dollars/euros.

Not by the end of the year, but in the long run it will unless we get dragged into another recession, WWIII or another global pandemic.
The chinese are ramping up supply of DRAM and NAND chips, and while they have no incentive to undercut western manufacturers at the moment, the increased supply will have an effect on the prices.
I'm expecting that at least some of the AI companies will go under in the next few years too, this is the best one can hope for at the moment.

An economic downturn would be great for consumer prices. It would depressed demand because so many people would be out of work, businesses would be losing out on customers, and revenue would be dropping across the board.

Economic collapse is the best way to bring down prices.

I remember 10 years ago when you could still play almost every games with only 8gb of RAM, some even stilled worked very well with 4.
Consoles becoming too powerful had disastrous consequences on optimization, and now that everything being 100 times more expensive, it's biting our asses.
I wonder how it will be for the next gen of consoles though, because if they still try to get more powerful, it will be much too expensive for the regular players.
What's the goal here? for no one beside an extreme minority to be able to use things? how is this even viable monetary?

This cannot be viable, many people, especially those who are poor, don't have a good internet connection
this is why the original stuff that did that in the early 2010s failed, they were aiming at poor people and really were doing it out of goodwill, and it failed. Doing this now would be just as bad but without even the goodwill left.

I'm certain most PC gamers are like you. They're perfectly satisfied with the gaming experiences they have now. Of course, everyone would like to have something nice, but really, there's not much of a need.

Streaming for games was originally made for the people who were too poor to buy computers, and computers were a lot cheaper than now. The prices themselves were fairly low as a result. but it originally was done out of good will.
However, it ended up failing, because the internet connection of poor people were not good enough.
Trying to mass market this now would only cause to a bigger downfall, because not only it would try to aim at more people than the poor (people who USED to be able to buy computers), but all the prices would be more expensive, and the internet connection of most people still isn't good for this outside of a few cities in the world.
What used to be something created for the poor people, would now be used to try to shackle people up to the middle class to expensive subscriptions.

Streaming was never done out of goodwill, nothing ever is, they wanted to hook people with a good deal until they gather enough users and then start ramping up the prices just like every other digital service.
And the one use case where it made sense was dead on arrival - streaming games when you're travelling and don't have access to your console/PC, because you wouldn't have a good enough connection.

The best thing to come out of that whole experiment is Sunshine/Moonlight, I'm playing pirated couch co-op games with a friend and streaming to his PC and it works great.

What you will need
>Tails Linux distro
Self-explanatory. You will install this on a laptop.
>a shitty throwaway PC
You can get a Thinkpad at Goodwill for $200. It just has to run a web browser. Don't use anything you've ever logged into legitimately. Don't use a phone, retard, those have cameras, spy on you and geolocate.
>Mysterium Dark
Open node VPN that accepts crypto and cash in envelopes.
>public wifi
More small businesses offer this than you may realize. Avoid large corpos like McDonalds since they have cameras. Don't steal neighbor's wifi, this will geolocate you more easily.
"Why do I care about that if I have a VPN?" Because being extra careful helps extra. Additionally, if law enforcement decides to grill Mysterium (this has never happened and they claim to keep no info) they'd end up at some place of business without cameras, looking for a guy who came here a year ago.
>ebike
You need something that doesn't have a license plate but is relatively fast. You can rent these in many places. If you have a normal bicycle this can also work.
Don't use your car nor rent one, stupid. Walking is more time spent in enemy territory (porch pirate smuggling a PC or laptop.)

>bag
You need something to put the item in. Check the item's dimensions. For my purposes I used one of those Trader Joe's freezer grocery bags, since they're huge and it's not weird if someone is carrying this. Backpacks are suspicious. The more you look like a Bernie Sanders voter the better.
>helmet, gas station sunglasses
A bicycle helmet is a great tool because it obscures your head shape. It compresses your chin and makes your head look bigger. Gas station sunglasses make your eyes look different in a non-suspicious way. People are less likely to think someone in a bicycle helmet is a criminal because you look like a retard.
>exercise clothes
Buy a cheap grey or dark blue polyester shirt and shorts off Amazon. Buy a bundle in fact. I assume you already have generic socks and sneakers nobody would recognize.
>public transport
Look into bus lines near your delivery zone. Read more for info on picking a good delivery zone.

>obtain information
The first step is getting past the ordering process. For this you will need a means of payment. To obtain a means of payment you will need an identity. We can't use your real identity since we're writing theft fanfiction so we would (in our fanfiction, not real life) use somebody else's.
I will not spoon-feed how to obtain this (since that would be an actual crime vs. the fanfiction I am writing right now; don't do any of this) but I believe there's places to get this info. They would probably use Telegram and be offshoots of infamous websites that once offered this stuff on the clearnet such as Nulled. Those awful men apparently sold leaked SSN info, photos of driver's licenses and other stuff. Can you believe that? I didn't hear all of them were arrested and most of them were Pakistanis or Romanians anyway, making them small fish for law enforcement, so they're probably still out there doing nefarious activities.

Do I need to remind you the PS4 got almost every new release until 2024? In fact the PS5 is in a much better situation because the shit tier Jaguar+HDD combo made the PS4/PS5 difference much bigger than what will be between the PS5/PS6.
All while 16GB RAM/8GB VRAM is already a serious issue on PC because basic logic spills over already. Which means even the lowest preset won't save you.
The Series S gets games on lower preset than the lowest on PC but gets them. That is one of the few advantages of the consoles. A shit tier PC will simply not be able to play the game.

Uncharted 4 is one of the most important games of all time but for different reasons then you would think when I say this.

When it came out, it was the best looking game of all time and it was exclusive to the ps4 and it ran on it pretty decently. Its at this point I realized we don't need much more then that. The 1080(non ti) is about 3-4× more powerful then a ps4 btw and we are now at several times that gpus power and games look the same as uncharted 4 not better... There is clearly some bullshit going on in game development causing everything to take way more resources then needed. A 5050 should be all anyone should ever need but its being seen as a waste of components because the demand to play games is too high

Another thing is we really shouldn't be using 1000 watts of power just to play games. Optimization and efficiency should become game devs new forte. The switch 2 has the power of a ps4 pro but at 30 watts, I'm actually hoping it continues to sell gang busters so it becomes the main platform and games are actually optimized again.

that because the games used to be super optimized for consoles, so it reflected on the pc version too.
this optimization isn't happening anymore, and executives sometimes also PREVENT developers to really optimize their games as they think it's now a "waste of budget" as "everyone who play games own things powerful enough"
in a logical world, future games would shift back to being optimized due to components being far too expensive, but I doubt executives will think like this

Despite the memes consoles are still custom made target hardware, they just use heavily modified "off the shelf" AMD parts now. Older consoles did this too except not from PC manufacturers.
When devs target a low end console like the Series S or Switch 2 they can custom tune the experience which they won't do for PCs due to the insane combination of hardware they already need to optimize for..

Of course the games will work he's being facetious.
Also you can expect PS6 to focus on machine learning upscaling and frame generation first and foremost.
They'll run games at 1080p/60 native and upscale to 4k/120fps.

>>739566543
The 5700 is a scam of a CPU, but realistically it still gets the job done and a 5600 is still all you need.
Reminder that even the R5 3600 is significantly faster that the base PS5's CPU.

>>739566506
>Another thing is we really shouldn't be using 1000 watts of power just to play games.
This isn't a thing unless you're running a 14-th gen Core i7 and a 5090.
A base PS5 tops out around 230W, my PC consumes around the same with peaks to 250W.
>>
>>739565827
>The Series S gets games on lower preset than the lowest on PC but gets them.
There isnt a single game that does this overall as variables are always worked on depending on GPU bound criterias when it comes to Lockhart. Even Series X or base PS5 sometimes use lower than lowest values than PC versions. Series S has gimped resolution so image quality, framerate and texture quality but thats it really. Series S versions also use gimped RTGI and other gimped or partial raytrace effects too but no game yet is using lower than lowest presets on PC because there is no need to. MS provides automated scalability tools that allow you to adjust Series X build to Lockhart GDK with couple of clicks. Biggest issue with Series S is its memory. Modern engines scale like dogshit in general and pushing for highest presets even on high end PCs is pointless because no one optimizes rendering pipelines around these so you barely see difference for big performance hit. t.worked on two AAA Series S game builds for Bandai Namco.
>>
>>739566259
007 First Light reqiures 8GB VRAM for the lowest preset 1080p30fps on PC. That is lower than the base PS5 which will have a 60fps mode. What do you think will happen when the PS6 will raise the bar? 8GB VRAM is money down the toilet. Anyone who buys this has to play lower than the PS5 right now.
>b-b-but I don't play modern slop!!
Then your opinion is irrelevant. 8GB VRAM won't be enough for GTA6 which everyone will want to play.

According to the current rumors the PS6 will have a proper home console and a handheld. The home console will be a proper stronger system. The handheld (based on PS6 tech to upscale but weaker than the PS5) will try to take market share from Switch 2. The plan is to play PS4 games native and downgraded versions of PS5 games.
Also there is a meme MLID made up that the PS6 will have a Series S version but no proof. The more likely is you can dock the handheld and that one will be for the poorfags.

Half of all posts on this site are disingenuous and the kicker is they're always technically justified. Its 4chan. Look at /b/'s tagline. This has never been a place suitable for serious discussion. Sure maybe st one point, but that was only during the brief window where bait was genuinely heralded as an artform and poor attempts at trolling were universally and overwhelmingly ridiculed, striking a surprisingly workable balance between productive discourse and complete bullshit. People nowadays probably just look at how society has degraded over the past 15ish years, see this place as a reflection of that, and feel compelled to fight it when at the end of the day I could just fucking gaslight them if they're being skitz about something and they can't do anything about it, as bait now is simply whatever gets people to spend energy.

Nivida is shrinking their consumer supply again AND they canceled the 50ti line up, gaming is now a micro priority for them and it looks like amd is doing the same as they also canceled their next gpu.

So do you really think there are going to be advancements in gaming in the next couple years? You are delusional if you think that whole industry isn't paralyzed because of ai and after ai doesn't look much better either. Whether its a bubble or not they will push for game streaming. They will want you to use their gpu's in their data centers with ai generated graphics to play games through a streaming service.

So yes I hope they will keep optimizing for switch 2 in the mean time

You're not hoping there'll optimizations. You're hoping there'll be technological stagnation. There won't be, because software developers will continue to one-up each other as a differentiating factor. Hell, that's one of the big reasons why the Switch 2 exists. It has more powerful hardware and can produce better results.

There will still be new gaming hardware (Steam Machine, PS6, Helix, new GPUs) that will come out over the next 6 years of the Switch 2's lifecycle and the Switch 2 will only get older. The optimization the Switch 2 gets will just be the PC version of lower settings.

>>
>>739561010
You are correct in that mid-range users won't notice a performance difference in the RAM, but the problem is that in order to use DDR4 you need an older mobo and CPU to pair with it.

You can still build a pretty respectable PC with those older components, but it's still not cheap and it kind of sucks to spend all that money just to get a PC that's 2 or 3 generations behind from the start and has no upgrade path.
>>
>>739561462
they're saving on the PSU with this one, you would replace it soon. This will play basically all games at least at 30fps and more for older games. Why get this instead of PS5? well this is also a computer that can do other shit. Also mods if you like that.

Because gamers/consumers were never the main market.
Like people complain about Microsoft for example, not knowing that like 92% of their customer base are corporate, not your typical normalfags with a PC at home.

Remember power companies arent supplying electricity to the regular grid anymore from next year, they're switching their supply directly to data centres because they make more money selling it to them than they do to random people.

Shit has always been like this, but its just more noticeable now because everyone has a device in their pocket letting them record shady activity and post it for millions to see.

That's 500 EUR in just 4 years assuming they don't raise prices again (they probably will).
And for what? Only to play online and get some old games for "free", even though you lose access the moment you stop paying.
You have to be a retard to justify this.

You don't have a point. Your whole thing is that $10 per month is too expensive for you and you'd rather buy a handful of games per year than get access to hundreds.
Your entire point is based around you having no money while arguing towards the best outcome is the one where you get less for your money.

I own a PC that's better than the PS5, and I own a PS5 hooked up to a 4k 120Hz OLED TV.
It's not that I can't afford PS+, that was never the point but your dumb nigger brain is incapable of comprehending why someone would think 125 EUR per year is a bad deal.
And so we go around in circles again "but it's only $10 per month" I already asked you, at what point do you think it becomes a bad deal?
Even at 365 EUR/USD per year it's still just 1 EUR/USD per day, right? Is it still a good deal then?
When you've waste enough money over the lifetime of the console that you could have just upgraded your PC?
I expect another one sentence nigger-brain reply calling me poor.

Even if it's $10 a month it's still bad value for money and adds up to the point where you'd be much better off getting a PC and using the same money to upgrade it; 500 EUR/USD is a good GPU every 4 years.
You get games on PC actually for free and you're not forced to keep paying lest you lose access to them.

1TB even on Windows is a lot better than the same on console at least.
But it requires a bit of knowledge to clean Windows and fee up space, you can even reduce the size of some games with no ill effects, for example Uncharted 4 has about 30GB of audio files for languages other than English etc.

It's always a good idea to free up some of the space that Windows is wasting.
Run cmd as admin and paste:
powercfg -h off
This disables hibernation, instantly freeing up several GB.

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
This cleans up the WinSXS folder

Navigate to these locations and delete everything, it's installation files for updates that windows keeps stored even after installing the updates:
C:\Windows\servicing\LCU
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Enable OS file compression, the feature is called Compact OS, pic related, there's practically no downside on a modern SSD.

Also you should install WizTree and look for files/directories you didn't know you even had.
If you ever had a blue screen or crash there might be a large 2-3GB memory dump file stored in the Windows directory.
PatchCleaner cleans orphaned files from the Windows/Installer directory, depending on how old your install is it can be very helpful.
