I recently played through sonic 1, 2, and 3.
It's amazing how much they did with 3. That's such a pretty looking game.
CD has the best music of that batch however.

Post your top 5 games (explanations optional)

For me it's:
>1) Rocket Knight Adventures
Basically a flawless action-platformer as far as I'm concerned. The set pieces flow together perfectly with setups and payoffs. Nothing overstays its welcome. Amazing finale, too.
>2) Alien Soldier
Blew my mind the first time I played it. Truly a work of mad genius, emphasis on mad. Takes getting used to but there's nothing else like it.
>3) Contra: Hard Corps
On the easier side, but that doesn't detract too much. The bombastic style, creativity and variety make it a joy to play every time. Just inject this shit into my veins.
>4) Shadowrun
Awesome open-ended RPG with a lot to dig into. If you don't know how to navigate the various money-making opportunities, you will suffer. Can be punishing but very rewarding to learn.
>5) Dynamite Headdy
Excellent action-platformer with an off-beat personality. The attention to detail is superb and the game has a surprising amount of optional stuff that's worth seeking out in its own right.

Almost certain that Comix Zone was the last exclusive title for the Genesis.
Still remember the day I bought it, never head of it prior to buying it, and I used to buy gaming mags all the time.
I wonder if Sega ever thought about brining it back in some form, there is a new Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage and a Shinobi game that just came out.

Pure memoslop, completely skilless game. There is almost no randomness. Bosses will do only like 3 things and in the same order every time. Once you have memorized the game, you will be able to beat it every time without any challenge. Contra 3 is the greater and more skillful game that can catch even veteran players off guard.
