I still think from a narrative standpoint Casey would have been a lot more fun as a playable character with Saga having a similar role on the side. Her whole gaslighting her daughter to death thing never feels like any real threat between Saga reassuring herself, the Old Gods confirming it, and the FBC stating its super localized. The tension that should be there just never comes about. Then you lool at Casey and you have pure schizo kino as he questions what was real and what was a fictional character. A sword of Damocles swinging above his head the whole time since it was already established that Casey dies at the end. And him shooting Alan in the head to break the cycle, a part of the author's creation destroying the author would hit so much better. Saga could still easily serve her role in the background to keep things moving forward and add to the weirdness, but shifting Casey to the front would have felt so much more interesting. To late now though, F's up for McCaffrey.
