he has been doing "dramatuber" content for years since it funds his lavish lifestyle better than tech benchmarks

i remember he used to be friends with corsair's head power-supply designer, jon gerow (jonnyguru), a guy who's kind of legendary for PSU testing before he worked at corsair. well, during the initial dramatuber videos about nvidia 4090s having burned power connectors, jon gerow told steve some minor technical detail he believed to be the case about the power connector's sense pins. this turned out to be wrong, and steve proceeded to make three embarrassing dramafaggot videos about "CORSAIR'S HEAD POWER SUPPLY DESIGNER JON GEROW *IS WRONG ABOUT THIS* - DANGEROUS! CAN CAUSE FIRES!!! DON'T BUY CORSAIR!!!"

obviously jonnyguru cut ties with him after that, just like plenty of people have

The doomers think the young people will not understand the importance of owning a PC.
The optimists think once the war is over and everyone gets their tariff refunds, it'll get better again.
Most people in the industry think the AI industry is purposely trying to destroy everyone else so they can push the "buy your cheap shit and use it to access our AI/Mainframe subscription"

It's cute that you think AAA studios have the required intelligence to realize the ballooning costs of production are unsustainable and to make a profit they must instead make smaller cheaper products that sell based on appealing to target demographics.
Their ilk are the type to think they're simply losing a gamble when a game flops and keep pulling the same lever at the proverbial slot machine thinking they will at some point win big. Never realizing the rates have been rigged so that they never will, continuing to gamble until one day they simply no longer have the money required to play.

The Chips act has effectively been declawed entirely. One of the big things done last year was the shutting down of the part of the act that was supposed do R&D on what parts of the tech industry actually promote american innovation, job growth, and so on.
That was shut down, along with most of the offices that were handling giving money out for the actual semiconductor/chip-manufacturing, to instead push the money towards AI.
Almost as if the R&D was finding that AI isn't actually a strategic goal for assisting Americans in making money.

>The doomers think the young people will not understand the importance of owning a PC.
This already happened well before any current crisis
People really aren't ready for the implications of that, that Peak Computing has already come and gone
There was a cohort that was large enough and computer literate enough, mostly so they could get Sound Blaster to work or configure a modem or install CS 1.7 in their school computer lab without getting caught. Not a small number of genius wizards, but a large number of people with a basic understanding of how the machine they were using functioned.

Every generation before them knew less about computers. Every generation after them knew less about computers. We have been fucked since Steve Jobs crawled out of hell.

It's obvious we're in the 'phase out' stages of owning a PC.
The supply constraints using AI as a scapegoat are designed to deplete and dry up the supply of consumer hardware, the manufacturers all exiting consumer markets to supply AI ensuring that even if the plot has to be postponed to a later time the damage is done, and will never recover, making future resumption of their plan even easier. Few can justify or even afford the prices of what's left and soon you won't even be able to buy parts because the supply is gone.

Once people can't get their goyboxes anymore, they will eagerly look for a solution, which has already been planned to be streaming boxes with no local compute capability and streaming from remote servers only. Completely controlled, monitored at all times, no possibility of doing or consuming anything on them that they don't approve of. Constant revenue streams and since every app or bit of media will be a subscription service. Literally everything they've wanted out of digital media and consumer computing for decades.

Next they'll have to figure out how to get rid of all the existing consumer compute that already exists, both current and past generations to ensure there is no option forward but to use the locked down goyboxes. COVID will be the model for their implementation of these goals, except this time the sickness will be a digital one. "Stop the Spread - turn in your computer today and get a FREE* Krispy Kreme donut!"

And then, after this, you'll have to make sure they can't just trade in unpozzed computers under the table - make criminals out of anyone still using/possessing the pre-kosher goybox computers and devices.

little over 4 and a half years to implement the major Agenda 2030 goals, we're entering the endgame for their current plans and the big push is already underway.

I'm sure THEY are panicking over this shift in consumption, and that's probably what the datacenters are actually about, and why they're willing to screw over the individuals so much.

But yeah I also agree with what someone else said. They're making it sound like they're dooming and glooming to "level" with us, only to slowly rationalize and normalize that this is how it has to be. He probably works for Blackrock.

The market isn't vanishing, but young people aren't as interested, old people never cared, and the manufacturing base is being destroyed, so naturally things have to get smaller and more specialized

This is something I have suspected about Steve on the simple principal that you CAN NOT TRUST PROFESSIONAL YOUTUBERS. You can't. None of these youtuber motherfuckers can be trusted. Ever. Because everyone in the tech industry is a nerd that fucking lies all the time. If you've worked in IT or software engineering or even hardware engineering (although I've been told there's less bullshit there than in software engineering or IT), it's lies upon lies upon lies. So at some point, you have to take everything that anyone that works in or around the computer industry with a lot of salt.
So Steve can entertain me with doom and gloom stuff like cable news but I'm just going to go like "Alright Steve, whataever. I'm waiting for that industrial crash out to happen because after China just kicked Nvidia in the crotch, what else can I say excep that it's time for Jensen to come home."
Also, frankly, let me ask this to everyone: just how much worth it is the games around right now? I've got a backlog of games that go back 20, 30 years since they've been released (or older), so I don't need the latest and greatest gear. And some the indie games are rehashes of older games. Soooo why am I sweating for new hardware again? Where my Windows 10 faggots at?
>>
>>739600401
AI fixes this.
>>
>>739606202
>Soooo why am I sweating for new hardware again?
Nobody is, everyone knows it's like this and everyone already has more games to play than years in their life left. Now if computer parts lasted forever there wouldn't be any problems at all but I for one dread the time when I'm gonna need to replace anything in my PC with current prices. Or just when I eventually need some more storage because I love keeping things that I enjoy.

I'm not sure what to make of your response because it's either you're worried to have to replace a part or buy more storage. in any case, that's going to be an inevitability. That said, what I'm wondering is, what kind of content (games, software, et al) are so important? You know? I've got a backlog of old - and I mean Skype call old - Joe Rogan podcast episodes to listen to and once I'm done with them, they are going to deleted. some DVD/Blu-Ray rips? Oh yeah that is staying. My games library on Steam? Some are "meh" and others are "I see my self playing over and over to relax" - you see where I'm going with this? It's questions that have been on my mind even before all of this started years ago.

How often do you retards buy PC and PC parts?
Even if everything literally triples in price, it's a single purchase every 5-10 years, it's not gonna send you to the poorhouse. Anyone who bought a 2080Ti 8 years ago is still sailing smoothly, shit even a 2070 still gets you console equivalent performance. The only way this is affecting your bottom line is if you're a certified consoomer who has to spend every spec of extra income you get your hand on and buys new parts every year

Nobody will do anything. Why do you think theres so many pro feminists and anti male propaganda even in video games? Thry know people can revel so they empower the women because they are agreable by nature and go along with the invaders. It has been this way for thousands of years because when invaders take over the women are spared and the men are killed. This is why women evolve to survive by adapting into any authoritarian regime (Why they tent to be liberal), and men evolved to resist or die (Why we tend to be conservative).

So now that feminism is the rule, and you disinfranchise males who have no wives and no families. (What they like to call Incels) you effectively completed your take over because no man will fight for a society that hates them. In fact most men will go along with the collapse.

The final step of their plan is to deploy the Beast system using Ai, controlling the economy, mass surveillance, and controlling what people can buy or sell. Then nobody will be able to resist or you will not get access to food. This is already happening in China with the social credit score.

Hope this helps people wake up and learn where we're at. Its time to pick up a Bible because we're living it.

Honestly having watched the whole 3 hour video there's a bit there about "I can't do mid range because there's competitors that are offering good quality at cheaper prices" well what the fuck do you wanna do about it? People are not gonna get fleeced because they feel bad about it. They're not gonna buy pointless bullshit to keep an industry like this one alive.
We're talking about an industry where in the last decade people started caring about all sorts of shit like power phases, whether the side of the fucking case is good enough for cable management, sleeved power cables, connectors on the side of the PSU instead of behind (which was mentioned there), even some motherboards that have connectors facing the other way for like 2 cases that support it, all the fucking miniITX or fishtank stuff, 13 different types of thermal anything to lower temps a little bit instead of just fucking thermal paste, AIOs with fucking LCD screens on them, GPUs with multiple physical switches, the list goes on and on and on, and on and on. This particular market was filled with bullshit nobody really needs. At the end of the day you want a computer that works fast first before anything else. It is also mentioned in the video that new components aren't making certain processes any faster either. But you're expecting people to go out and spend 300 to 500 dollars on fucking RAM that isn't going to help a lot more when opening documents than something released 10 fucking years ago.

As the company pivots to DDR5 and high-bandwidth memory (HBM), analysts warn the move could flood the market with next-gen DRAM, intensifying oversupply risks.

Chinese GPUs won't be competitive until and if they can produce machines equivalent to ASML's domestically, and at best that won't happen for another decade. But for memory, CXMT is an established player, but for DDR4. I wonder how they got the means to fabricate DDR5.

>I love how all the hate GN gets is because they called out LTT on their bullshit.
There's barely anything coming from there
It's the shift towards a different type of content that is pretty doom and gloom that some people are complaining about
It's good from time to time but it helps me more to know how decent a new unique case in the market actually is with data to back it up (which is what used to distinguish GN, now other channels do it) than "this company you never gave a fuck about committed fraud and the only thing you can actually do is buy our merch so we keep doing videos like this one".
Like seriously, why do I give a fuck that some jeet profiting from selling literal garbage gets in trouble with Sega

Zoomies do not hang out with you, unc.
Sadly, I realized that many of 20-somethings are too techno-historically inept to not fall for rent based computing.

If only.
4chan would be a better without this filth.

It's not about cards, it's about fabs. Every card coming out of Chinese companies right now uses outdated ASML fabs (including the Ascend AI chips that "work" but are very inefficient and power hungry). Blocking Chinese companies from buying from ASML has hampered their capacity in the short term, but in the long term it pushes their national planning to pursue making those machines on their own, instead of relying on foreign enemy countries. They are still prototypes, but there's a lot of money, tech companies, experts and industrial espionage poured into it.

It's the cloud yellers making this place miserable.

the album is about a future president that's even more corrupt than Bush and we got him his name is Sir Pedophile Trump.

I've been saying it since the start of all this AI mess, but this is straight up the end of personal computing.
Component makers finally found an in to sell their product in bulk to companies rather that on an individual case by case basis. Everyone's giving consumers the middle finger while cashing out now. You'll be lucky if you can even buy a cpu cooler in 5 years because the market will just be straight gone for the average gamer like you and me.
This has always been the benefit of consoles. You don't have to worry about acquiring parts, you just need the box. This is why consoles will be the only way to game moving forward. It's unironically over for pc gaming and no amount of coping will fix that.
>>
>>739617920
There are cloud services for renting PCs out there right now. Now just make consumer hardware too expensive and everyone is forced into renting within 10 years
>>
>>739617927
Nobody says its going to collapse overnight. Its a slow burn downward. If you think things are way better now than 15 years ago you are retarded so of course you're convinced a nation/global collapse happens in 14 days
>>
>>739618253
But why don't I know anyone who uses them for video games? I know about renting servers and AI models but games, no. Could it perhaps be because video games are interactive medium and delay just makes it not work hm...

Your wit is a waste here.
You need to be a comedy star at mainstream television.

Nope. They come here to post trash and twitter screencap. And repost all this trash on twitter. And they hurt my feelings.
We need Total Zoomer Death.

>it helps me more to know how decent a new unique case in the market actually is with data to back it up
The problem is that you won't watch that video. It also doesn't help that there hasn't been any new hardware for like 2 years now because they are busy making shit for AI
>>
>>739618123
I can just turn on the news if I want that you miserable bastard.
The world has to adapt, I'm not listening everyday to "jensen is being a little cunt again". What are you gonna do? Are you going to grab a gun and pop a cap on that motherfucker?

A lot of people use GeForce Now and stream to their cheap Chromebook already.

But the thing in the OP is posted all over twitter and reddit. They have subreddits and followerbases dedicated to this sort of topics.

Consoles will just sell you a box with a cheap phone chip inside it that will connect to their servers so you can play games in the cloud. The next generation will be $1500 console vs $50 client with a $50 monthly subscription

Your anecdotes are dumb as fuck
That said

>>739618402
Nvidia absolutely refuses to give granular metrics for Geforce Now, which strongly implies no one is fuckin using it
For instance, two flexes I've seen from them after six years is
>25 million registered users
>1 billion hours streamed
Which figures out to...
Approximately 35 minutes of cloud gaming per month, per user

Gaming is healing.
Fact.

Have you been to any countries outside of your own? How do you know any other countries even exist if you haven't seen them?
>>
>>739618802
To add to your point, they explicitly refuse to give out numbers for GFN subscribers, so that "25 million registered users" number could actually mean only 1 million paying subscribers and 24 million non-paying email addresses.

>Is there a single person in this thread who does that?
Children and teens, you fool. The future of the hobby.
PC gaming will die exactly how car culture died, corporate profits and greed pricing out people out of the hobby. You used to be able to get a cheap shitbox and get into modding and races easily, now that's gone. All that will be left will be a bunch of "classic" "retro" boomer larping millenials LARPing with their overpriced old hardware, normies that overpaid for some new model thinking that this is normal and they don't know any better, and failsons of rich families showing off their super expensive luxury turd. Meanwhile you'll have kept saying "good, gatekeep, etc." this entire time.
>>
>>739618873
We have education system. What if you educated yourself on the amount of people using cloud gaming?
>>
>>739618976
Car culture "died" because people just moved onto new trends. You can still do all that and more with cars.
>>
>>739618976
>normies that overpaid for some new model thinking that this is normal and they don't know any better
much like how older gamers in the 2010s were the most resistance to MTX, but it didn't matter because the youngest ones accepted it until it became the expectation
>>739619058
car culture died because the economic prosperity of young people has been declining for decades compared to their previous cohorts at the same age. if teens could work a summer job and handily afford a cool car to show off and fuck their girlfriend in, they'd still be doing it
>>
>>739601704
He did a good coverage of the previous hardware monopoly that happened in the 80s or whatever.
>>
>>739619376
Older people are the ones with the money to pay for MTX and more expensive equipment. Cars were always expensive to rice up and people only tolerated that sort of money burning as long as it was trendy.
>>
>this much seething over a "YOU'LL OWN NOTHING" video
yeah this place is dead

Why would AI companies want to have to maintain massive data centers of gaming computers?

>>
>>739619579
Why are the kids using other peoples money? Like really, the biggest spenders in gaming are 30 year old lonely men who have lots of disposable income and lack of purpose and responsibilities. It shouldn't be that hard to think. When you were a teen did you or any of your friends have a top of the line computer? Well nobody in my friend group did. And nobody of us was astrosurfing on forums complaining about graphics and performance. It has always been the older generation.
