MAD MAX 2015!!!!!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMbXN-Wf6iU
WE ALMOST GOT A PS2 MAD MAX BRAHS!!!
I'm hardcore shilling right now because I NEED anons to buy this game so they make another one.Furiosa was a flop and the franchise is fucked so I really need you guys to pull it together.okay?
>>739604953was mid
>>739605217They won't, it was a fluke.Avalanche Studios has made nothing but slop, most of the good devs probably left or got laid off a decade ago.
>>739605217I really liked Furiosa. Did it really bomb?
>>739605368>>739605387Guys I kind of have a lot riding on a future Mad Max apocalypse so we need to help out George Miller.
>>739605420I really liked it as well. It was technically a flop I guess.>grossed approximately $174.4 million globally>$168 million production budgetHonestly they could go ultra low budget and it would be fine. Make a Thunderdome 2.0 lmao. And get Mel back.
>>739605468is that some fuckin Steve on my /v/
its dead jimzoomers don't care about cars anymoremost of us don't even drive
>>739605660You're goddamn right.Been a fan since his campervan days
>>739605217>if people buy this game then (((they))) will surely make a sequel!how many times are goymers going to fall for this trick?
It's not a good game. The entire thing was >hold to collect scrap>hold to remove scrotum insigniaWith the occasional driving and bamhamming inbetween. It was more of a chore to complete than any other open world game I've ever played.
>>739605672If you have even $1000 to your name right now, you should be taking a screwdriver to a carburetor and reading a $50 Clymer manual on how to make it better this moment.
>>739605707Till it works!>>739605845>>hold to collect scrapIf you don't have the scrap crew for the region>>hold to remove scrotum insigniaThat's for the real fans if you want to 100% the game. You don't need to do that to beat the camps.
>>739605217I missed Furiosa, when I remembered to check the theatre dates I was two days too late.
>>739605552>technically a flopAnon that's a massive flop not just technically a flop
OP here, I can smell plastic burning outside. Please give me a moment>>739605895That happens to me with a lot of movies. I had to call out of work to make it to Furiosa. Time moves fast. I hit 20k on my 750 on my way back from the movie.
>>739605217I thought it was great for an open world ubishit game. Even better than Man Eater.Unfortunately the franchise is kill even if you bought 1000 million copies (1 billion) cuz of the movie failures. Sorry. The team that made this overlooked gem has already been dissolved.
>>739605217It was a movie tie-in so they won't make a new one without the movie studio wanting it and sales don't influence such decisions.
>>739604953I liked that game, but found the ending too rushed. I wish it had a few more missions before it
>>739605946They made $6million dollars and everyone got paid. The best Mad Max movie ever made is a $60 camcorder recording of a man's muscle car he spent every dime building.A car he spilt blood, tears, and booze over.Maybe a bit of sweat as well
>>739605217This game was dropped so hard post launch WB would probably go back in time and kill it during development if they couldWB dropped itEnjoy the memories
>>739605946They made a fucking prequel though so it couldnt have been that bad
>>739605845>>739606065I want everyone to compare these two posts.THIS is where the game went wrong, or how you know something went wrong. The actual campaign is exceptionally short....Unless you're a Mad Max fan or classic /v/ autist. The size of the map and actual content of the game IMPLIES a longer campaign and more missions.Obviously something happened at the studio. A budget cut or whatever.
>>739605978>The team that made this overlooked gem has already been dissolved.Future me was dissolved of a job before I even had a chance it seems.>>739605994Honestly even this game was pretty... sketchy with the whole tie-in situation.Mad Max games have disappeared consistently over the decades because of shit like this.I was born a decade or two, too late to ensure the PS2 Mad Max game.
>>739606198The obvious focus was on side contentIf you bum rushed main story in this game expecting it to be well paced I have a bridge to sell you, entire game from top to bottom reeked of exec meddling and middle management hellscape
>>739605849sorry but its over.tinkering with cars(and cars in general) is for boomers
>>739605849I wish I lived in a country where this is possible but alas it's not a thing. Cars need to undergo mandatory inspections or aren't allowed in traffic. This thing woudn't pass a single test.
>>739606260>sketchy with the whole tie-in situation.Huh? It neatly explains why he was chased in the movie and what happened to the competent sons.
mad max just reminds me that i will never be able to afford a falcon xc(or xb) cobra, i'll never own my own house or have a wife who gets killed by bandits.
>>739606270>The obvious focus was on side contentI think it feels like that because the team working on it meant for you to do more. I think they got cut off and fucked over. The amount of detail and content in random locations, the amount of references and SOVL put into the design screams people trying to do their best despite the circumstances.Large parts of the map are basically there for no reason because something happened.
>>739604953>literally 1 dollar on gamebilletokwhy not
>>739606351Thank youanon...
Mad Max is in my wishlist but uhh just wanted to say Days Gone kinda reminded me of the first two movies and it kinda fits the vibe so I think if you enjoyed MM then you could also give a shot to DG (and vice-versa of course)
>>739605217i've already been playing it for a while
>>739606183Furiosa is the prequel bro, you are confusing it with Fury Road
>>739606276I'm not a boomer.I have 3 vehicles and they're all carb'd and I LOVE THEM.2 of them are air/oil cooled.Any one of these vehicles will outlast any modern car being sold today and I believe there are plenty of smart zoomers out there to recognize that.
>>739606492boomer is anyone over 30
I enjoyed it, i should probably replay it.
>>739606310Sounds like literal hell. It is both terrifying and gratifing to realize there are countries that if I had been born into, I would have naturally become a criminal in.Canada has become a shithole, but luckily I was able to move to Alberta and skirt mandatory safety's.It's only a matter of time though.
>>739606517I'm 25.And I am madBut my name is not Max.
>>739606546>23 hours>finished ityou clearly rushed the main story and played nothing else, so yes you should probably replay it and do the side stuff, there's a lot of cool things
>>739604953Never played? How is this game? just another woke ubi open world game?
>>739606314There is a whole entire behind the scenes fuckfest of people claiming George Miller hated or loved it.I'm the biggest Mad Max fan ever and I honestly don't really care because like I said. The best Mad Max movie ever made cost $20 worth of unleaded and a couple hundred worth of rubber.
>>739606350I'm sure they cut some plot regarding regarding the junkie chick who joins you towards the end. She had potential, but her stay is too shortAnd then, there's the desert area and the industrial zone in the end. The desert is too empty and the industrial zone is too condensed. Each one needed 5-10 houts of busywork and some secondary missions.Have you tried Rage 2? It's a shameless Mad Max copy paste, but FPS instead of beat 'em up. And with a weaker plot. But I did enjoy it too
>>739606341Honestly the hardest part to accept about Mad Max is believing a police officer stood for real justice. My GREATEST. Unironic, Sympathies lye with officers who still believe in justice and are able to see what their country has become.
>>739606583>>739606492>owns 3 cars>25the average zoomer can barely afford an e-bike bruh
>>739606121>They made $6million dollars and everyone got paid. That's not even remotely how it works. A movie like that has a marketing budget about the same size as its filming budget. Furiosa lost over 100 million after marketing and theater cut. It was a huge bomb.
>>739606441I'll second this anon, I liked both Mad Max and Days Gone. They both scratch the itch of exploring a shitty wasteland and having a vehicle that you gradually upgrade over the course of the game.Played through them both a couple of times, they're fun.>>739605845Annoyingly enough, there was an upgrade you could build (scrap pile or salvage crew, I think?) in the encampments that would generate a bunch of scrap in the background and give it to you next time you played the game, but WB shut the server down for it so now the upgrade is entirely useless. It made the grind a little less grindy.
>>739606441Easiest sale Days Gone has ever made.I saw a clip of it where the main guy meets a security guard, and I put it on my Wishlist. Maybe it's the fluoride or bad back at 25, but Harley's have been increasingly more interesting to me.I'm not a huge zombie fag, but my friends have gotten me into Dayz.
>>739606468I appreciate you(read in DJ Khaled voice)*kiss*
>>739604953Wish the game had full mod support, i'd have made so much shit for it.Still a solid romp, just way too much bamham combat.
>>739606672>the junkie chick who joins you towards the endYou really only get her on board to enter the race for the V8, but yeah she's got missed potential. It's also pretty obvious they meant to do something with the last settlement (maybe have some of their stuff out in the desert) because you can find almost all of the parts for their projects within about half an hour or so.>>739606618It's open world driving and car combat with bamham on-foot combat. It's not that long, there's a lot to explore despite being kind of empty, most of the bosses are all copy-pasted, but it's fun for what it is and it goes on sale for a couple of bucks constantly.
>>739606610I probably have 3x these hours if I had my ps4 hours. I've run the main campaign multiple times alone and it's mega short. I think that's the biggest problem.Real Mad Max brahs like you and myself appreciate the small shit, but normal gaymers rush that stuff.I think that's where the game fucked up. It messed up that balance of MadMad niggas and gaymers.NOT their fault. Their production got CUT hard
>>739606618>2015>wokeDidn't exist yet.If you've watched MadMax. You might pick up that you're beating up fags for half the game.
I've played this through at least three times, so I've got all the anons in this thread beat.I've also got about the same amount of time on Days Gone, funnily enough but that's just two playthroughs
>>739604953Could have been so great
>>739606672>Have you tried Rage 2?You might be the same random anon from like a year ago telling me about that, but if not you're the 3 MadMax fan to let me know about it.I have zero excuse for not playing it by now. I played Rage 1 on the Ps3 and liked it enough. The last anon told me that Rage 2 was way better.I already own it, I NEED to play it some time.
>>7396067051 car and two bikes.I'm literally a zoomer that pays rent, insurance, food, etc. and I work minimum wage, in Canada.Maybe impossible if you live in a city.Other zoomers my age waste money on vapes, subscriptions, caffeine, and gambing.Shit IS BAD. But when I tell you this shit is possible. This IS POSSIBLE.I even have money invested in Bombardier.
>>739606730Yeah well, next time don't tell me that
>>739606860FOUR DOORSFOR MORE friends!
>>739606990Holy shitI kneel
>>739606990Any other recommendations? I played Crossout, past it being relevant for a year.Fumes is pretty fun. It's little Indie type game. It's probably the best game in this MadMax type of genre.
>>739607426FUEL if you just want a post apocalypse racing game.
>>739605217>>739604953Don't hardcore Mad Max fans actually hate this game due to all the drama?>completely made without George Miller or any production staff's input>WB shoved 10 yrs of planning and concept material onto Avalanche without Miller's permission>Ended up spoiling some plot threads and characters that Miller & co was planning to use in prequel comics and sequels
>>739605368Compared to what?
>>739606879>>739606990>most of the bosses are all copy-pastedSeriously this is the most obvious evidence that the studio got fucked. The menu info on the Top Dogs is clearly implying each boss was supposed to be unique and stuff.Deep Friah is pure kino and should be the next Mad Max movie.I'm telling you a shoestring budget Deep Friah Mad Max movie or game would be awesome.
>>739607453Funniest shit is I actually misspelt fumes as fuel in that post before correcting it.Put a ton of hours into Fuel on the PS3.
>>739605217>we need to buy [current flop] so they can make [future flop] but improvednah, fuck that. Many people applied that logic to The House Of The Dead remakes and look how it turned out.If you buy a game, you are signaling that whatever decisions they took to produce the videogame you just bought were the right calls, so they never learn from their mistakes and produce another turd.
>>739605217The game is like 2-5 bucks everywhereno matter how many copies you buy, there won't be a sequel. The game was well received, people liked it, it didn't sell gangbusters, the end.Just be happy that it exists.
liked it but never got to finish it. one of the quests requires you to use the grappling hook upgrade to pull a grate off a hidden passage so you can enter it, but my save glitches and wouldn't let me attach the hook even after fully upgrading it.
>>739607473Any real MadMax fan knows it's the thought that counts and anything else is reddit.I wake up and feel yesterday's 10w40 in my hair and on my jeans. I lay awake thinking at night, trying to figure out if that 3k rpm stutter is because of pilot jet or because of needle's need of 1 more shim.
>>739605217I liked it too and was better than I expected, they really needed a NG+ though it sucked that you only get the fully upgraded vehicle right at the end.
>>739607607>>739607615Okay, I'll be honest. I accepted in 2014 when I was 14 years old that no other Mad Max content was going to exist and the 3 movies I loved would be all there was to it.And I was fine with that. And then a blockbuster happenedAnd then a gameAnd then another movie. The fact is, I'm happy no matter what. I would rather a cheap game or movie be made out of passion that out of money.I actually snuck my PSP into detention and in-school suspension to watch these movies for the first time.My first introduction into torrenting and homebrew was on the PSP. That's how I first watched these movies.
>>739607537Didn't Fuel get delisted not long after release? I have no idea what caused it but I remember it being a pretty decent game.
>>739607619Did you actually pick up the grapping hook?I think for that mission you get the "next objective" after you defeat that convoy, but before you get out of the car to pick up the actual item. That or, you have to bring it to Jeet or something before it becomes available as an upgrade to your car.
>>739607872there are multiple points in the story afterwards where you have to use it. That quest is the only thing left I have to do, sitting on 98% completion because of it.
>>739607831Not sure, I only played it on PS3. I didn't know it was available on other stuff.I remember there being a lot of top 10 largest video game map videos in which it was listed, and then shit on for being so empty.even though that was the point.
>>739607939wtf. Alright, that's it. We're bringing the devs back together for this.
>>739607503Deep Friah was cool, I also kind of liked Jeet although his quests went by pretty quick and being able to unlock infinite ammo restocks at every camp practically the second you get there sort of defeated the whole point of ammo being scarce.A lot of the characters were pretty good. The setting of the dried up coastline was kino as well, I liked how half of the map is former ocean bed and the major settlements there are beached cargo ships and an old lighthouse.
>>739606860>worked in Australian mining for 9 months>every single rural town had a race trackLoved my time there, hoping to move there for good in the next few years as Canada is cooked.
>>739606860>>739607978>full mod support>difficultyOkay, I got the max difficulty mod and the game is still far too easy.Fuel should've always been harder to get along with ammo and combat upgrades.
>>739604953>great vehicle combat is ruined by terrible on-foot gameplay it has arkham combat but dumbed down even more. I wish they at least had a stealth system. I also hate how it doesn't look like Australia at all, but a generic desert
>everyone thinks Vile in Mega Man X is based on Boba Fett>he's actually based on Bubba Zanetti
>>739608043Bad news anon, it's not much better down here m8
>>739605420>>739605552It was a bad idea to release a spinoff from Fury Road so long after it's release. We should've had a full sequel by now.
>>739607978>The setting of the dried up coastline was kino as well, I liked how half of the map is former ocean bed and the major settlements there are beached cargo ships and an old lighthouseOkay, this was supposed to be the setup of the PS2 game lmao. A certain reveal was planned to be the oil rig standing above the sand like a tower, Max realizing the ocean had dried up.Mad Max 2015 just sort of skips over it.
>>739606121Production budget doesn't include the marketing budget which is probably at least 100 million, and the company also doesn't get the entire box office, the theatres take a big cut. They're probably like 150 million in the red.
>>739608070because it's not set in Australia. it's on the San Diego coastline. it's why they originally intended for the cast to have American accents, and it was only because fans loudly complained about it that they decided to give Max an Australian VA (everyone else is american though). there are road signs in a few places that namedrop places in and around SD, and also something like 40% of the map is a dried seabed anyway so it wouldn't look like a normal desert regardless. you have to remember, it's post-apocalyptic. most plant and animal life is extinct.
>>739608043As a Canadian that has been comparing Australia. We're both pretty fucked.10 years ago might've been a different story, but thinks changed quick.
>>739608173File bankruptcy and do it again please
>>739608183>Mad Max set in North Americawhat the fuck. This can't be real
>>739608183Give me one source on this
>>739608070>>739608183>>739608253Okay, see this is why you shouldn't worry about all that.Mad Max is feeling. It's a way that you pump the pedal on your car to make sure there's gas sitting in your intake manifold ready to get taken up by you boom cans and leave the car with a nice noise. As the world turns to dust, you are able to creatively start your car with an inertia starter, a bump start, a smaller engine, a 2-stroke, or some other crazy means. And you can drive into the dustbowl knowing you will find some victim in which to give you the sweet guzzoline.
>>739608070>I also hate how it doesn't look like Australia at all, but a generic desertDevs intended for it to be generic and not set anywhere.https://gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2015/03/11/where-is-mad-max-s-wasteland-and-does-it-fit-with-the-films.aspx>“We don’t know where it is in the world,” says senior game designer Emil Kraftling. “The player doesn’t know where it is in the world. The people in the world hardly know where it is in the world. There’s a sense of mystery to the Wasteland.”
>>739608123Your jobs pay 2-3X better and your regional centres are far more temperate year round to live off grid. It's a much better better option than NA atm.
>>739608483WoahTotal desert wastelandSometimes as a Canadian I imagine an ice age version of MadMax.Like a Mad max with tracks and skii's
>>739608617Somewhat related, check out Deep Snow Delivery
>>739608617That'd be pretty fucking awesome honestly, a lot of the monster arctic exploration vehicles from the cold war era were insane. You might get a kick out of this when it comes out.https://store.steampowered.com/app/3517740/Frostrail/
>>739608647FOR FREE!!!!This looks sweet. I never watched Girl's Last Tour, but I love the idea of old Personnel carriers becoming housing and transport>>739608819I was just thinking about the movie Snowpiercer when you posted that lmao. I'll check it out.
>>739608043>>739608530our houses are fucked now, even out in the middle of no where the price is crazyif you are in mining make sure to save, because who the fuck knows how long mining in aus will last
>>739609195Housing situation in Canada is unfortunately the same, but rural Aus is still far more affordable and liveable than here. And I already saved more in 9 months working in Aus than in a decade in Canada kek, a couple of years and i'd pay off a place in the bush completely but I know the clock is ticking.
>>739604953This game was so fucking good, I loved it and I want more.
>>739606739>WB shut the server down for italso locked you out of a cheevo so you need someone else's save that had some cash generated thru that method if you didn't get it while it was onlinealso no fucking idea why they couldn't just use the system clock for it>>739605892>That's for the real fans if you want to 100% the gamewell I obviously really love the mad max series and wanted to 100% the game but that drags the overall experience down by at least 4 pointsand the story campaign is absolutely short as mentioned by other anons>>739606270yep 90% of the game is copypasted side content
>>739607426>CrossoutWasted Potential: The GameIt's super infuriating too, like it's ALMOST a masterpiece
>>739604953Meh. 6/10. And this is from someone who has 100% it twice.>All the open world trappings of that era, copy paste objectives from other games>Fan fiction story>Car Physics are terrible>Random lightning storms stop gameplay dead for 5+ minutes>Car Combat is too easy, have to arbitrarily limit yourself to make it more challenging>Too many inputs mapped to the same button during combat. For example you can unlock a melee execution that is done by pressing X next to a stunned enemy. Holding X is also the input for dropping a melee weapon. You can see the problem.>Gorgeous visuals>Fantastic optimization>loud>Loud>LOUD>Using binoculars to scope out an enemy camp before taking it down is 1:1 with the movie. >Convoy battles are fun
>>739608819>survival craftingI had had the idea for an extraction game based on Mad Max. go out into the wasteland and compete with other players to secure parts to upgrade your car. dying means having to start a new car build from scratch. car combat PvP like an MMO Twisted Metal.
>>739604953weird i have been playing this again recently on a whim
Why are there no good vehicular combat games anymore? A decade since Mad Max and nothing better has come along.Fumes is bretty great for an indie offering, but it's more Vigalante 8/Twisted Metal.https://store.steampowered.com/app/1920430/FUMES/Give me a proper Mad Max game or something like Interstate 76.
>>739612367>Interstate 76.Delete this less some fuckwit at Activision sees it and destroys it with a horrid remake.
>>739610434>Random lightning storms stop gameplay dead for 5+ minutesthis shit is not getting called out enough in those threads. i feel like anyone who claims this game is a hidden gem and doesn't mention this horrific mechanic did not actually play the game. sure, if you're close to a stronghold you can just get in but otherwise you're just fucked, especially in the beginning of the game when you don't have any upgrades to your car. genuinely what were they thinking?
>>739612367dude i grew up with this shit. 76 was dope as fuck to play. same with redline. vehicular combat peaked with those two.
>>739612367>Interstate 76.Perfect game. Perfect gameplay, perfect story, perfect multiplayer, perfect soundtrack, perfect setting, perfect poetry.
>>739607426>>739610047>CrossoutIsn't that the shitty P2W PvP totally-not-WoT garbage? Why don't just play Ex Machina which is a complete game and not a GaaS slop?
