>20 years of failing to implement dynamic NPCs or settlements that aren't just two merchants sitting on chairs
>get praised for it

I don't know what is actually so funny about Peter's pose, but it's real, unironic comedy gold.
Maybe the comedy of repetition, but damn, works on me.
>>
>>739668025
Repetition isn't to be underestimated, it's the backbone of anime and the reason you think it's retarded the first time you watch one but 100 shows later you love it and laugh when people do exactly what you expect them to do in some dumb situation.

yea, town segments are the most boring part of any rpg. give me the quest and let me go do it, dont make me roam around for 20 minutes just to get every quest

the real comedy is that the exact same thing happens even if you do give the dull femur away
i think ER's dlc was the funniest for it since it was separate from the main game and thus literally everybody gets to die, no safeguards around merchants and blacksmiths
>the two allied npcs who survive to the end die after the final boss (guess they still trying to pretend that there are permanent consequences to resurrecting characters)
>magic dude who used the player as a goon to do his bidding does a betrayal (he had no reason to)
>another questgiver just goes MY HOME PLANET NEEDS ME and disappears without a word (understandable but she has an alt resolution where she disappears in a different way lmao)
>aspect of another character explicitly discarded dies when the original dies (not that she anything to do but still)

They've never promised that, ever. This is an Elder Scrolls complaint ported over to Fromsoft in an attempt to bait engagement.

The sad part is, that it will work.

Movie?
>>
>>739668316
Does that make FromSouls immune to complaints, since the devs promise nothing and fans just repeat the same old joke? Or are there people that actually defend summon signs as some ingenious design paradigm, and not over-recycled multiplayer feature?

Why do you talk like a Fromsoft NPC?
>>
>>739667885
Just think of the souls games as a playable impressionist painting

I think Wuchang is the worst for that, I tried so fucking hard to see every NPC in every location and fucked up every quest anyway.

>>
>>739667885
Western game developers fail to do the same despite trying, but still get credit for it. Just like they’ve been trying to make conplex social simulations, but only managed to make choose your own adventure games with tedious dialogue choices. From soft isn’t trying to make that kind of game thankfully.
>>
>>739668631
NTA but rolling providing bullshit invincibility frames and incentivizing rolling ONTO an attack is a nonsense meme that you can blame Dark Souls for, it got flanderized to death despite having fairly slow, methodical combat. It's how you end up with Elden Ring and bosses being a rhythm game simulator

I'll be more plain then: summon signs are a gimmick that overstayed its welcome in pretty much every way. The existence of multiplayer games does not make summon signs interesting. It's a worthless half-measure that gets ported over to every game with miniscule changes, unlike estus flasks (which is an actually strong design that is worth repeating) or dedicated multiplayer modes (which may or may not be present entirely).

It's a funny death pose because most death poses in media look really dignified and picturesque whereas in reality if you died suddenly your corpse would probably flop into a weird and awkward position
>>
>>739667885
it's because every other game DOES implement dynamic npcs and settlements that are more than just two merchants sitting on chairs. it's different from the rest, in a variety of ways. sorry you don't understand soul.

>most death poses in media look really dignified and picturesque whereas in reality if you died suddenly your corpse would probably flop into a weird and awkward position
Depends on how you die. Your body is held up by muscle tone, if you get a heart attack or get shot somewhere, you'll recoil but your muscles will stay stiff.
If you get shot in the head or neck and sever the spine you instantly fold over like a towel.
>>
>>739667885
Fromdrones are the most cultish fanbase out there right next to Pokefaggots
>>
>>739669696
It's Clevemire since Cleveland makes up the majority of the body.
>>
why do people play games expecting them to meet them at their expectations instead of engaging the game's expectations of the player?
>>
>>739668025
Tom Segura did the Peter Griffin while playing basketball and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I don't even know who Tom Segura is, but that pathetic display of athleticism was comedy gold.

I would go as far as to say as pattern recognition is the very core of storytelling, same with music, the thing that separates music from noise is recognizable repetition.

The reason you can't do the splits isn't because your joints aren't capable of it but because the pain makes you consciously stop yourself. When you die there's no pain anymore so your body is free to contort itself however gravity dictates.

Fromsoft really does have the worst quest design in the industry. Close second is No Man's Sky.

>great you've used your plain jane scanner in three different location to find the mystery artefact
>Oh no it needs to be repaired, hope you're up for the challenge (0/50 Carbon)
>Congrats this mystery artefact that was chilling in an inhabited system for untold millennia is finally operational again

>oh also the sentinels are angry at you, better run in any direction for 60 secs or they'll get ya!
