From strategy, to tactics, macro and micro. RTS is the ultimate tool for complete and total human utilization. True multitasking is required at all times. Deep strategy, thinking far ahead, while performing sophisticated maneuvers with finesse. RTS is a genre for men with chest hair.
>>739670367All rts games already have optimal strategy guides for them. You just follow the guide and whoever applies everything in it faster climbs the ranks.

>>739670367I can't into offense no matter the game, chess, RTS, fps. I always play support/defense.
>>739670367I feel like RTS will never live up to its potential because humans can't actually multitask that well. Either you get a game like starcraft where the focus is the micro and production is mostly automated, or you get the slower games where macro decisions have a more lot depth but they're turn based. The fantasy that you're this master strategist that's effortlessly coordinating actions all across the theatre just isn't attainable by humans. It's just a larp at the end of the day. There's a reason why in real wars you have massive divisions of labour across the command structure because no single person can take it all in themselves.
>>739670901A real RTS is where micro, macro, tactics and strategy all matter, and if you fail at one you will always lose and can't get away with it. There are men out there playing RTS. They have chest hair. It's what separates them from the non-RTS players.
This is what the average RTS player looks like.
We need a mix of Ground Control 2 and Deserts of Kharak with a sprinkle of weird alien shit on topAnd the faction asymmetry of Earth 2160

Where my Battleforge chads at?Been playing Skylords Reborn for years now, it's still the best RTS game I've ever played right next to Age of Empires Online ( Project Celeste )I played both games when they had official servers, realized their magnificence and holy fuck was I salty that Microsoft and EA pulled the plug on them because they wanted them to be monetized up the ass and weren't "profitable" enough. At least Microsoft gave fans complete server tools to host private servers. EA did no such thing, so the game had to be reverse-engineered to its current state.

Im still mad at what they did with the story here

Are we watching the streamer AoE2 tournament? WC3 was fun to watch.
>>739673904check the archives, the game got mentioned like 10 times or something in the last 6 years on this site. People here only consume hyped slop outside of a few autists shilling their own games.5 of my most played games have almost zero discussion, one out of them never even had a thread as far as the archives go.It's crazy how good Skylords had become, even without having a single line of source code to work with. If only they could inject new models and animation.
