My 7-year-old daughter invents the story, I code in Godot 4. She tests, complains, I rebuild. Evening by evening.

v0.3 is out now with:

- Full English translation (DE/EN toggle on start screen)
- Card-based combat, crafting, puzzles, NPCs
- Bug fixes across the board

What I'd really like honest feedback on:

- Does the storytelling work? My daughter drives the narrative and I'm not sure if it lands for other players
- Card combat - intuitive or confusing?
- Any moments where you got stuck?

Especially also curious from a Godot perspective: I'm mostly using TileMaps, AnimatedSprite2D, and Area2D triggers. Are there Godot 4 features I'm sleeping on that would make a game like this better?

Happy to answer questions about the dev process.

How can you not tell if the storytelling works? Just imagine someone else wrote it and see if it flows at all.

Never used Godot 4 but I'm quite impressed with it.
I'll try your game anon.

are you doing this as a way of getting her interested in tech? or more so something you 2 can do together?
what is it like having your requirements come from a 7 year old? not much of a difference vs real life lol
