>>739707873>Is the bar that low for people?Yes. You probably play games that are actually good and have no idea how bad things have gotten in the mainstream.E33 was the best game these people had seen in years, that's how bad things are out there.

I'm watching a stream of this and it's so lame. A proper bond movie or game would have started by now. It's been like two hours of intro/tutorial and all this awkward "We're trying to do Bond for the modern audience please don't be offended :) shit

>>739714183its henry and capons lovechild after the second game
I like it a lot. I don't want to go full spoiler chat since it's pretty new but like many games, the increased difficulty in endgame actually just means "use the most effective option" so it ends up feeling limiting in the last few combat encounters. Other than that, I really enjoy the combat mechanics. I hope they do get a sequel because refining this further would be really fucking fun.Overall I rate it Uncharted 3/Lost Legacy
>>739716275I am upset that the game is lame?I'd say I'm more bored.
>>739716473Just finished myself, honestly because melee/throwing is still strong I don't think you are required to do whatever the broken thing is. You can headshot people, you can throw and takedown, you can blind/sabotage stuff for takedowns too. Hell on Purist mode you can tank a decent amount of bullets to do some charges for cover/melee. I'd say the real limiting thing, before Q gives you his watch, is having blue/green to actually use gadgets. Ontop of the watch taking up a spot so you get 3 not 4 gadgets to pick. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe for the next game it would pause the screen like Mass Effect so you could have all gadgets always available.
>>739716740I played on hard and the game was honestly still to easy. If I could change 1 thing, it would be making all melee damage 50% so fights last longer and are riskier for blowing your cover. And yeah the reduced gadget charge is annoying at times. The game always has "backup" situations for you to keep playing which is a neat idea in itself, but it felt like I was always more limited by gadgets than my actual ability as a playeridk. weird thing to try and balance I'm sure

I just started playing it today and just finished the nightclub level. My thoughts so far are basically this:>the game took forever to really get going. I like the characters and their banter, but the game doesn’t feel like it begins in earnest and lets you off the rails a bit until the part where you steal the flag at night.>stealth is basically a watered down Hitman WoA. The bluffing and forced non-lethal playstyle encourages creative approaches, but there’s overall less ways to approach a stealth section than in Hitman, even though you can tell they tried to give you as many options as possible. Bluffing is a cool mechanic, but having lures tied to instinct is baffling.>the melee combat is hot garbage. The lack of a lock-on makes it extremely clunky. Shooting is passable, not perfect.>the game surprisingly has a kind of Visual Novel/Persona feel with how much time you spend doing slice of life bonding with the other MI6 agents. It’s like if they took Persona, but replaced the dungeon crawling part with micro-Hitman levels>I feel they get Bond’s personality right despite his young age. He’s a smug asshole with a heart of gold and it works. He fucks women too, so that fear is averted.>night club level was genuinely fun. I always thought the Hitman formula wouldn’t translate well into non-assassination based missions, but I was proven wrong since they managed to make a fun eavesdropping mission with it.>main theme is kino.>Cass is cute and I hope she continues to be a big part of the game going forward.Overall, it’s a 7.5/10 so far. Definitely interested in playing more, but I know it’ll never dethrone Hitman.

>>739718434>yellow paint everywhere
>>739718657In this particular part of the game, he’s ripped out his earpiece and is talking to himself. I forgive it though because this is literally the first level where Bond isn’t even an agent yet and is still a bit shaken. I do think it was obnoxious in the training court in Malta where the agents commented on every little thing you did though. I feel the game’s tutorial is way too long in general.

7/10 game. It would be so much better if they hadn’t constrained the best, most bond like mission to Vietnam at the end of the game. Being a victim to putting the narrative first. I’ll probably look more favorably at in in the future if they add more free, story/narrative focused 3-5 hour missions where you’re just playing Bond without the AI backup, and only a smidgen of intel and more freedom. Like 6-12 missions like that in the first year post launch. It’s the least they can do

>>739722031IIRC mandatory retirement age for agents in the first novel is between 40-45 and Bond is pushing it in the first chapter. And is whining about being old and tired and sore thinking it's more likely that someone will kill him in the field. Considering every agent has typical missions that play out the same way as bond's where they get blown up and shot and stabbed and tortured, it's not suprising.

Not sure how I feel about James Bond having to compete with others for the role of 007. I always thought he was elevated up because of his exploratory services in the Navy and shit.
