While it's surely very safe to assume that DQ12 has been radically changed as far as themes and tones are concerned. I really am not entirely convinced that it'll be anywhere close to as traditional as people appear to be assuming. Like I know of DQ's track record. And the strong throughlines throughout the mainline. So Beyond Dreams very well could be very traditional. But I can't feel certain. Like video related. It looks very open to me. I could almost imagine him pulling out the bow and start lobbing arrows down at the enemies while in bullet time while airborne. It's only when they were asked about that and when they answered. In the quote that you posted, they even themselves that, after fan requests, they wanted to release the game on both the Switch and Switch 2. So those fan requests were after they had made the decision not to release the game on the Switch. Dev started after they received their Switch 2 dev kits in 2024, literally 4-5 years after they had made the decision before a single line of code was even inputted that they wouldn't release the game on the Switch. I am not some snoy, I am just an anon that saw the entire Switch gen in real-time and who refuses to blindly believe that Atlus will support the Switch 2 any day now because they have already shown us that it's not something that they want to do.
