I don't trust someone who tries to keep their finger on the pulse too hard, and his natural voice sounds fake to me which makes me think he's being performative. On the other hand though, I don't like how some treat it as a generic job and don't give a shit about the stuff they're associated with like Mike Pollock. Granted, I'm not a VA myself, and if I were in their shoes, I certainly wouldn't expect myself or anyone to get invested in EVERY series I play. Only so much time. But if you keep getting the role for one in particular, I feel like there's a hidden obligation to at least look into it. But that's the difference between Voice Acting and Acting. There's a certain detachedness to it that isn't present in acting. Maybe because the business is more touch and go, in and out than acting, that may be the case, but it still feels like there's a lack of true attachment to characters with these people.
