Post your idea for the type of game that's been rolling around in your head that you would want to make if you had the know how and resources
Story-based racing game. Between chases and the actual action scenes, you have the driver and the passenger just talk with each other. Get to know each other. While you drive towards the next destination, where the action picks up again.Already have a whole story in my head. With time-powers (for extra abilities), dimension experiments, and ruined dreams about becoming a racer.Needs a retrowave electro soundtrack, like Dance with the Dead.
>>739771139Literally Cars (2006)
>>739770679The original Star Wars Battlefronts but with different themes, mechanics and more refined AI.Or just work on a system to help refine AI and the efforts made in the past to improve it before devs just gave up on it. Voice commands, quick action menus, proper pathing and cover, better communication among themselves and the player, etc. Make them useful without being aimbots, and not useless with the constant need to babysit, make invincible, or take away anything useful from them because they'll just get it destroyed or waste it. Something where a player can give them a basic, reasonable task and they'll be able to complete it without the player having to worry or intervene, and may even out-preform the player leading to them to intervene in a "the cavalry has arrived" sort of sense that isn't scripted.Sadly you can't just make a system like that for devs to use like you can an engine. It's ultimately their job to make it work. Which of course is too much time, effort and money.
No joke, I've always wanted a FNAF-styled game set in a medieval fantasy but instead of animatronics, you are hunting things like dragons or weird creatures that can fuck you up
>>739770679open world RPG where the game world is randomized, the geography, the locations, the towns, the NPCs, the quests, all those quests intersect and diverge from and impact other quests and factions, there's several main quests, several classes and a couple prestige classes, each class is styled after a particular gameplay style, the thief plays like Thief and Assassin's Creed, the warrior plays like Dark Souls, the mage plays like Noita, a necromancer is practically a different game, you can only experience approximately 40% of the game's content in a single playthrough so you have to replay it for hundreds of hours if you want to see everything possible, it has local and online co-op, base building mechanics informed by factions, and it never ever gets a sequel.
>>739770679A Payday style kobold heist game.3 Kobolds go around stealing treasure for their Dragons hoard, a thief class, a sorcerer class, and a trap maker class.Larger emphasis of planning and preparation, Maps start with elven villages, dwarf fortresses, gnome banks, and then ramp up to kings castles, monster lairs, lich catacombs, other dragon's hoards etc.

>>739771139Depends on what you consider a story "based" but NFS The Run and Driver San Francisco come to my mind as examples of very bad and pretty enjoyable racing games with heavy story focus>>739770679I want a hunting game but instead of deer or bears you hunt monsters and aliens>inb4 monster hunter and EvolveNo, I mean an actual hunting game like Hunter COTW. Closest thing to something like that are still those shitty streamerbait/asset flip games about tracking Big Foot
Immersive sim that takes place in an upper-middle class suburban neighborhood. >post this every thread knowing that its an idea that is worth millions >because its so difficult that only a fucking madman would try to pull it off
Sims as an RTS.Basically, you as a commander influencing the soldiers, but ultimately it is in their control what they do and watching the chaos unfold as a result of it.This will either be the best or worst idea ever.
>>739770679Survival game where you're caught in the middle of two gigantic warring factions. Literally gigantic, like skyscraper-sized monsters and robots and shit. You can do little things to influence the battle like set mines and tripwires but you're mostly helpless and just trying to get out of the way.Other idea, sports stars as anime girls
>>739771139Sounds like GTA but with cars.
This sort of game, but a time limit rpg.Meaning you control a character, have a world, have all sorts of things you can do, level up/gain items, and need to find the correct order to do quests/kill monsters, to get specific endings.
First person Sims:You play as a single character from a baby to an elder. Then after you die (or earlier) you get to choose a character from the next generation to play as.

>>739770679An incremental game where you fire artillery cannon into increasingly larger voxel terrain and buildings. You'll need that later against different materials, to reach destruction quota in limited amount of shots.
>>739770679>fantasy Big Bad Evil Guy RPG + Strategy game>gameplay of Evil Genius mixed with the setting and premise of games like Dungeon Keeper/War for the Overworld/KeeperRL, where you have a central evil lair from which to rule your burgeoning empire (that you keep and grow throughout the entire game through multiple x-levels both underground and on the surface) and send your horde of minions out into the world to raid, pillage, sow chaos, conquer land and generally cause mischief>role playing aspect comes from being able to create your own customizable villain/villainess and role play them however you want>can be a big armored Sauron/Overlord wannabe, mad wizard, lich, slutty sorceress, dread artificer, barbarian war chief or whatever you can think of with a combination of backstories, races, archetypes and classes >can choose what race of weak lowly minions you start off with, such as kobolds, zombies, goblins, imps, automaton drones, Human slaves, whatever, who act as weak cannon fodder and the general builders for your lair>don't just immediately get access to a bunch of different minions and henchman, you have to actually go out and ally yourself/coerce/intimidate/manipulate/bribe your way into gaining the loyal of various groups of fantasy races (killing the leader of a tribe of Orcs to become their new chief, hiring some barbarian mercenaries to fight for you, saving a clutch of Naga eggs to have them join you, enslaving a tribe of lizardmen to use as slave soldiers, build factory to make magi-tech robot killing machines, so on and so forth) >every race of monsters or people your recruit also comes with a handful of powerful henchmen, these are basically your "companions", as they have backstories, special abilities, opinions and personal questlines>have the narrative freedom to be the type of evil villain you want, can be lawful evil tyrant who brings about an iron fisted order to the world or a chaotic evil slaughterer who does evil just because
>>739776336Have different villain races (goblins, dark elves, chaos dwarves, evil human tribes etc) that hate/love each other and introduce other evil lords of those races that you can fight or ally with.
There are some really cool ideas here>>739772182With how popular FNAF was I'm surprised that something like this doesn't exist already>>739772657Kind of sounds like what Dwarf Fortress' adventure mode would have been like if the dev had a 150 million dollar budget. I would love something like this>>739772670Reminds me of something like Styx: Master of Shadows, in that instead of playing a human who can just use brute force when stealth fails you are a weak little thing who gets immediately fucked up most of the time if you mess up. I like the idea of it.>>739773021Man I just want more XCOM clones in general.>>739773809Big Game Hunter but with cryptids and shit would be really fun. >asymmetrical RTS game where you play as modern militaries facing off against a hostile subterranean empire that has laid dormant and hidden for tens of thousands of years with vastly superior technology which has decided that the nations of the surface are no longer worthy of the autonomy they've allowed us to have for millennia>start as the United States military fighting against genetically enhanced super soldiers with gauss rifles, anti-grav tanks, giant tripodal mechs and swarms of advanced drones as this enemy empire emerges from the Rocky Mountains, but as the game progresses you play the European Union, Russia, China and a desperate unified global military union as the nations of the surface lose more and more ground>entire game is one desperate losing battle after another, objectives aren't things like "destroy the enemy base", its "hold the line to bide time for evacuating civilians", "defend NORAD headquarters until all sensitive information can be destroy", "destroy Hoover Dam to flood the region and stall their advance" and "defend Washington D.C to the last man">atmosphere gets increasingly forlorn and hopeless as the game goes on>last chapter of the game you play as the hostile subterranean empire, which has completely assimilated and dominated almost all of the world to the point the civilians have long sense given up on resisting, and are now mopping up the last bastions of resistance>game doesn't end when they claim ultimate victory, as its revealed they conquered the surface to prepare for the arrive of an alien invasion fleet>last chapter of the game is you playing as the subterranean empire against the aliens, who are on roughly even footing technologically and militarily, plays more like a traditional RTS>also includes obligatory giant robots that you unlock for the last couple of missions
>>739770679Action h-game where a footfag succubus personally invades a kingdom of qt halflings. Because everyone has a petite body type, it would be easier than normal to introduce a lot of wrestling in the combat. From there, there would be a lot of /d/ tier autism like the leveling system being stealing souls and placing them into the succubus' foot jewelry, where they're trapped in a pocket dimension where they have to worship feet forever, being able to permanently amputate the limbs of recurring npcs and/or slowly corrupt them over the story, or turning them into QT imps to serve you.
>>739779278I've always liked the idea of a "cyberpunk courier sim" game where you play as a guy who deliveries packages in a crime ridden mega-city filled with violent psycho criminals, insane cyborgs, hostile robots and mutants, but you're free to use drones, automatic turrets, cybernetic implants and fully automatic smart firearms to protect yourself (and more importantly your deliveries) to maintain your quota. >>739779335Isn't that new Palworlds game coming out literally just this exact concept?>>739780250I really like the idea of there being multiple squads doing their own thing while you fight with your squad to finish your own mission. I'm honestly surprised Helldivers 2 doesn't do that.

>>739770679Adult game with stealth and some imsim elements. You play as a dark arts practitioner who gets killed by a local inquisition and instead of escaping into his phylactery gets transported into a mysterious realm with a giant estate. The estate filled with all manner of twister monstrous body horror women who you're meant to avoid or subdue while scouting out the estate, scavenging for resources, and recovering pieces of your soul that store all your spell knowledge that would help you progress until you subdue the owner of the estate and decide whether to take over or escape to your own reality. There'd be a lot of stealth and stalking of the various servants of the estate, learning their routines, sneaking peeks of their pervy activities, singling them out to ambush, subdue, and dominate them, all the while doing your best to avoid getting ganged up on and killed. The women be a combination of tastefully macabre and sexy. I had ideas like the gardener who has two giant scissor blades for arms, a butcher who rapidly dismembers herself and regenerates lost limbs while the severed ones get up and attack you, an "orchestra" that has an open ribcage with harp strings stretched between her ribs and flutes or trumpets stuck in her lungs and such.
A third person sci fi rpg shooter set in a grimdark hyper futuristic apocalypse where every exploration zone is a different type of architecture populated by a different mutant cyborg enemy faction and human settlement hub town. You design an AI controlled android companion to be male or female, ranged or melee or support with buffs and healing. Your companion starts with a random personality that can be changed based on long term interaction across game time or artificially altered using rare materials crafted into a custom cognition chip. Two person co-op with shared resources while scavenging or fighting. Also your fellow player can bring their companion into your server. You need to summon your fellow player to the hub town before venturing out with them.

Wario Land but you play as the entire Ware cast to solve puzzles.
>>739786109>more games had customizable companionsYes exactly. I loved making my player character in Dark Arisen and pairing him up with a waifu. There's something so engaging about having a companion right from the start that evolves with you rather than some random recruits that you have jump through hoops to hire or pay to fight by your side.
Basically like a certain other underwater game but you start deep, really fucking deep, like beyond abyssal zone deep.
