What are examples of idiot plots in video games? I can think of some minor things in games with a silent protagonist where the player could solve things much faster if the player were able to ask the obvious but what comes to your mind?
>>
spec ops the line
>>
>>739798712
That part in resident evil requiem with the braille puzzle that would normally only require minor trial and error to solve.
>>
>>739798712
Xenoblade Chronicles, everyone not strapping Shulk to a chair and torturing him for info every time he has a "that's so Raven" moment, they know he's prescient and clearly notice when he had visions.
Also, FFXV:
>Noctis: *doesn't do anything particularly whiny or lazy*
>Gladio: "Hey Noctis, I know your dad just died, while you were on a road trip, but let's not ruin the mood or Prompto will have to shut up for a second and deal with his self-esteem. Also, IF I CATCH YOU SLACKING ON THE SEARCH FOR THE WEAPONS I WILL FUCK YOUR ASSHOLE, but let's keep it light"
>Ignis: "I'm the best character, so Tabata will make me blind and turn my personal moment into a damn escort mission".
Looking back it might have been idiot development, not idiot plot.

Yesterday, I decided to eat takeaway for the first time in years. So I got a Shake Shack ShackBurger. Anyway, while I was there eating my burger, the police were called on a Black dude who was yelling at the staff. I was watching this whole thing, and despite the whole mess he had made, the police were treating him with kid gloves. They were talking to him politely, asking him to simply leave with no charges, talking all friendly and with low calming voices. I thought it was absurd this asshole was gonna get off for throwing shit around and punching the glass dividers and all.
Yet the dude just stayed there screaming at the police. Eventually he attacked them and was promptly arrested.

Is this an "Idiot Plot"? And why is the "Idiot Plot" not okay?

There was some FPS made by People can Fly that starred Steve Blum as a foul-mouthed ex-spec ops guy who had an energy whip on his hand. He and basically everyone else always did the dumbest possible thing in every possible scenario but by sheer coincidence he manages to kill his old commander, get revenge for his murdered crew, and make it off planet in one piece. I only remember that everything happening was the dumbest shit possible and always caused by the dumbest choices possible.

Pretty much all of Injustice
>First chapter explains that Lex (evil one) gave Joker a nuke in the main timeline and fucking tells the Justice League his plan to trick people into supporting him
>However, Joker also gets a nuke in the timeline where Lex is a good guy too, somehow
>And kidnaps Lois, Superman’s wife also somehow
>The wife of the character who can hear a button from star constillations and through space (and we see this guy fly from orbit and hear Lex from Space too later on)
>Oh and somehow also gets his hands on a “rare” space rock and fear gas
>Multiple high level detectives with minding reading powers and magic somehow don’t figure out shit
>Somehow while Joker was setting up the nuke, not a single soul notice a giant fucking nuke appear
The smartest thing anyone did at the beginning was Superman finally killing the Joker.
>The Flash and multiple other heroes several times ftl can’t move the nuke or at least evacuate the entire city during the explosion

I think a basic requirement of an idiot plot is that the characters are NOT SUPPOSED to be stupid. When the story presents allegedly competent characters, but requires them to be incompetent to work.

If the characters are intended to be dumb, it's not an idiot plot, or it's an idiot plot in a good way. For example, Paulie and Chris in the Sopranos episode where they get stuck in the woods: both characters have some basic low cunning but at their core they are ignorant impulsive oafs, so when they get into deep shit because of their idiocy it's funny and makes perfect sense.

Arkham Knight comes to mind.
idk why Bruce didn't discern Jason's identity. He does in literally every other version of Red Hood.
I GUESS you could say that the visions in the Movie Studios was him subconsciously putting it together but that seems pointless with him never consciously putting it together.

If people just stayed in the quarantine zones the zombies would have died off naturally within 25 years
Ignoring this, the idea of being able to make a vaccine against a fungal infection is stupid and won't work
And even ignoring this, a group of vigilante larpers wouldn't have the supply chain to manufacture large amounts of vaccine or distribute it. So every single thing that happened in the game is caused by people being retarded and could have been easily preventable.

Only reason shepard seems competent is because literally everyone else in the galaxy is a fucking retard. You can say "oh, corporate bureaucracy" etc, except the spectres exist, and there aren't just saren and shepard. Any number of them could have been dispatched to verify what shepster said.
Then, of course, there's the retarded justification the reapers give in 3. Or that you can't call out cerberus in 2. At any given time, it's either shepard or everyone around him who is retarded.

Ventus: "I'm basically Roxas who got lucky like Sora and can make a bunch of friends, but that also made me super soft and I thus I don't have a spine to stick to either of my main friends and travel with them together. I'm so useless I just went home and learned I'm a walking nuclear bomb."
Aqua: "I had two jobs: keep an eye on Terra to not fuck shit up and bring back Ventus. I failed at both. But that wasn't enough, so I made sure nobody can save Ventus (instead of keeping him at Yen Sid's) and I sacrificed myself to save the main villain of the series. I'm so smart!"

Police have better things to do than take in everyone throwing a baby tantrum. Most of them just don't want to deal with this shit to begin with. They don't want to be there, they don't want to bother with the tard wrangling, and they don't want the paperwork afterwards.
If they can talk the retard down, they usually will if there's been no damage and nobody's actually been assaulted. The moment either of those two things happen though, the path of fate is set. Not really an idiot plot so much as a "we're too busy for this shit, give us a break and make this easy we're begging you" plot.

Basically EVERYTHING in Ace Attorney Dual Destinies happened because police & prosecution couldn't be bothered to review some camera footage in its entirety of the time period that they knew a victim was killed during.
Like, they knew someone was killed during a two hour period, they had a camera pointing right at the fucking door of the room she was killed in, but nobody thought that maybe they should look to see how many people entered or left that room & possibly follow up if they saw someone leaving with a clear stab wound to their hand during that time. And wearing the victim's jacket.
All this bullshit until an attorney suggests looking at the full footage like 7 years later.

For me it's mages college questline
>Time travelling mage appears in front of you to tell you that... something is happening. That's it, he just tells you that there is a plot ongoing. No details about the plot or instructions or warnings, just "a chain of events has been set in motion"
>yeah we found a huge orb beneath saarthal, bo idea what it does. You should go around killing wizards to find books, maybe one of them will have the info we want
>oh right, the book that talks about something hidden beneath saarthal, of course I know it. Funny that nobody even thought of it before
>in the meanwhile let's leave our orb completely unguarded in a room where the Aldmeri spy (who everyone knows is a spy) has free access to
>time travelling wizard shows up again to tell you to speak to the ghost living in the sewers for the next part of the plot. He can't actually tell you himself what you need to know, of course. That would be anticlimactic
>by the way, we randomly started calling this orb the eye of Magnus for no reason. Oh, and the control key for it turns out to be the staff of Magnus. What a funny coincidence
>The staff of Magnus BTW is a super powerful and well known ancient artifact which the college can locate at any time, but nobody cares enough to bother
>Oh shit the archmage died. Well you're the aechmage now, congratulations. It's not like the college has half a dozen teachers with decades of seniority, we'll just give the position to a dude who joined the school last week and has finished one single lesson

t. someone who has no experience with older popular entertainment
Ye olde time popculture was often the dumbest shit that makes Marvel capeshit look like high art. If you want a good laugh, read Mark Twain's review of the work of Fenimore Cooper, the author of The Last of the Mohicans and the 19th century literary superstar.
>The ark is one hundred and forty feet long; the dwelling is ninety feet long. The idea of the Indians is to drop softly and secretly from the arched sapling to the dwelling as the ark creeps along under it at the rate of a mile an hour, and butcher the family. It will take the ark a minute and a half to pass under. It will take the ninety foot dwelling a minute to pass under. Now, then, what did the six Indians do? It would take you thirty years to guess, and even then you would have to give it up, I believe. Therefore, I will tell you what the Indians did. Their chief, a person of quite extraordinary intellect for a Cooper Indian, warily watched the canal-boat as it squeezed along under him, and when he had got his calculations fined down to exactly the right shade, as he judged, he let go and dropped. And missed the house! That is actually what he did. He missed the house, and landed in the stern of the scow. It was not much of a fall, yet it knocked him silly. He lay there unconscious. If the house had been ninety-seven feet long he would have made the trip. The fault was Cooper's, not his. The error lay in the construction of the house. Cooper was no architect.

NTA, but I was about to post C myself.
It was obvious that it needed to be that color, but I couldn't find the pattern with the arrows either, other than ultimately supposing that maybe if you combined all the arrows together they would ultimately reach some kind of parity with the other colors, maybe adding up to 360 degrees or something. I'm too dyslexic to verify that with any real certainty, but C looked like it came close enough to having the kind of degrees that would equate to the other colors given that premise.

90% of the examples made in this thread are not "idiot plots", you're just listing games with dumb/stupid characters in them, and that's not what an idiot plot is.

An idiot plot is NOT when the characters are simply stupid, it is when their stupid decisions are the only factor keeping the plot in motion cause, if they were instead acting as intellifently as they're presented, the plot would either not happen or would be wrapped up much more quickly.

Dumb ignorant characters being involved in situations bigger than them and taking dumb decisions cause they're dumb and don't know better is NOT an idiot plot.

Characters presented as if their intelligence is their main traits or when their profession requires cognitive skill and decision making and yet they miss the most obvious clues, ignore the most obvious choice, or take decision no one would ever take, all only so that the plot can happen, that is an idiot plot.

there are also gameplay examples that do nt require the intelligence factor:
>we have to go across the mountain, and there's a convenient passage, but a landslide caused it to be obstructed by giant boulders, so we have to go the long path, leading to an adventure
this is not an idiot plot
>we are a kid who runs away from someone running after them in a big house, but the door leading to the exit is obstructed by a giant boockshelf full of heavy boxes cause the house in disarray, so we take a different path leading to a game of hide and seek across the house to find the exit
this is not an idiot plot
>we are a 6'2 muscular police officer investigating a mansion, and we hear a scream from 2 rooms away, but the corridor is blocked by a normal sized empty bookshelf that has no reason to be there cause the rest of the house is clean and tidy, so we decide to go the long route ending up missing the attack and having to figure out who the attacker was for the remainder of the game
this is an idiot plot, cause MOVE THE FUCKING SHELF SOMENE IS DYING

>They notice the world is slowly eroding away under the immense pressure of alchemy
>they theorize that if the alchemical lighthouses are not lit this process will eventually erode away the entire world, as these fonts will relieve that pressure
>The Wise One of Vault knows that the world is eroding away because of Alchemy
>but he has a really cushy job guarding the knowledge of Alchemy o when the world begins to erode FASTER he warns his people that if the Lighthouses are lit Alchemy will be destroyed and the world will end

GUESS WHO IS RIGHT

>Menardi and Saturos are appealing to the Alchemy users around the world to gain favor in lighting the lighthouses
>everyone is agreeing and on board
>enter the Protaganists.
>Isaac, Garret, and Janet
>these three are informed by Kratos, their teacher, to consult the Wise One to learn their mission
>He tells them to not allow the lighthouses to be lit
And then there was an entire War of Obligation because these three kids will meet another kids and the idiot savant squadro that these dumbasses from nearly end the world UNTIL THEY MEET UP WITH ANOTHER IDIOT SAVANT WHo...

Deliberate choice rather than ignorance/lack of smarts. They're chosing the martial path.
>Kami staying quiet until it's too late to warn Piccolo about Cell
He only had a bad feeling and he's not that close to Piccolo at that point. He told Piccolo when his bad omen was confirmed
>The androids staying around Cell despite multiple warning that he plans on absorbing them
Very true.
>Krillin destroying the android shut down remote
It makes sense on a romantic/emotional level, as in "I commit so hard to keep you alive!" but I agree Krillin should've kept it on hand, just in case.
>Super Vegeta not only sparing Cell, but actively helping him achieve perfect form by attacking Trunks
Hubris. Does it count as idiot plot? I don't know.
>Goku not telling Gohan about his true plan on how they could beat Cell
This one didn't change anything, in fact it probably improved their odds. Gohan knew what the plan was the moment he started fighting Cell anyway (pic related)
>SSJ2 Gohan being cocky, giving Cell the chance to bloat up into a bomb
Response to trauma from seeing his friends being tortured, and immense sadistic rage/bloodlust. It's definitely not wise, but it's debattable whether it counts as idiot plot? I think?

Well, still the weakest Dragon Ball arc. It had its upsides though.

Every position 2 is in the clockwise-moving area between position 1 and position 3, which suggests a pattern.
Not every position 2 is at a closer counter-clockwise position from position 1, so there is no discernable pattern from this.
It seems pretty obvious to me. The variable rotation extent seems designed to trip people up, which it has done.

Pretty sure the Lantern King will really turn Nyrissa into an Eldest if she destroys 1,000 kingdoms. When her own kingdom is destroyed, you can let her drink from the cup. I don't know what happens if you don't give Shyka the crown of those elf ghosts, though. If you do give Shyka the crown, then they will retroactively un-destroy the Elf kingdom, causing Nyrissa to die instead of becoming an Eldest, which makes Lantern King seethe and go after Shyka.

Yuri's main goal was to find and save Hisoka, who's shop/house is on the mountain, and Miu's was to find her brocon mom. In context they have decent enough reasons to not just leave. By horror standards anyways.

Yes, Burn After Reading is a comedy, but I would say that funny jokes and good plot conflicts both need to stand up to scrutiny.
Idiot plots harm the conflict because they're basically like making a bad faith argument. If you want the audience to take the conflict you're presenting seriously then you should present that conflict earnestly and in good faith, that's what it's really about.
Comedies don't care about the conflict but I would also say that making overly contrived joke setups and punchlines is a bad faith thing as well, as in you're not tackling the situation/observation that the joke is based on earnestly. And usually the result is not funny at all.

Went and looked up a youtube video of the Kalm flashback and it's remarkably well-written. Tifa stops Barett from interrupting because she herself is curious as to what happened. She subtly questions and prods Cloud as to the accuracy of his memories especially in regards to the letter he can read in her room, using the opportunity to investigate both Clouds and her own recollection of the events. At the end of the flashback she did actually see cloud since he takes his helmet before confronting Sephiroth, but she was bleeding on the floor and half conscious. That coupled with Cloud be indisinguishable from a SOLDIER despite never having become in in the database that Tifa constantly checked created its own mystery. Tifa did actually try to confront cloud before the flashback but he didn't take the questioning which led to Tifa being more subtle during the events in Kalm.

In the Hundred Knight
The entire plot is predicated on a single conversation that Lia and her older sister never had.
Lia has magic AIDS and can't live outside of the "swamp", which is pure mana.
Her older sister spends all her time making sure that Lia stays in the swamp, and keeping other witches from showing up and merc'ing her shit because she's cursed.
Lia doesn't know that she has magic AIDS. She thinks that being stuck in the swamp is some curse her sister put on her.
Her older sister doesn't know that Lia doesn't know. So she treats Lia like shit and resents her, because she thinks she's constantly acting like a brat and trying to throw her life away.
Meaning that the whole reason Lia became the insane bitch she is, and the whole reason the entire story even happens, is because Lia's older sister was just a cunt for no reason.

>They were appealing to alchemy users across the world
That's not what happened. Many of these experts came to the conclusion themselves either by actually exploring the world or analyzing ancient documents and comparing them with present day shit.

They left Prox and headed straight to Vale in an attempt to negotiate with the elders and failed. They then tried to sneak into the sanctum, bungled the puzzle and unleashed a massive trap that nearly killed a bunch of people on top of ambushing random children who were just trying to get away from the rain.
Then three years later, Isaac and friends snuck in, solved the puzzles for them and the Wise One saved everyone from dying because the Sol Sanctum was booby trapped as the ancients didnt want some random retard unleashing alchemy. GS1 is essentially Isaac chasing down the prox duo because they kidnapped his friends and everyone is operating on half of the story (including Mia) because they were told that alchemy could kill everyone. Which is true, its just they didnt know that NOT bringing back would kill everyone else well because your "heroes" never bothered to tell them anything.

If Menardi and Saturos merely (properly) explained to Kratos that their position was entirely justified and the 'wise one' was wrong AND didn't outright kill Issac and Garret for the crime of overhearing a completely irrelevant conversation, I'm convinced they would have had a much higher rapport and none of the drama would have occurred. Especially if they saved Felix openly during the storm instead of using him as a pawn. Everything that happened is a result of Alex being a secretive little nigger and Sat & Menardi being combative violent niggers.

This is actually not an idiot plot and more an example of joker villain logic, which is that the Joker(as a character) can literally do anything, obtain anything, or know anything that the plot requires. And that his plans can only fail when he either gets tired of playing or lets the good guys beat him.

Aka the joker is complete bullshit, which is why they had him start off what quickly becomes the biggest idiot plot of all time(the entirety of injustice)

not true. even the villains make sense in mgs and are driven by logic and their personal morals (this doesn't make them idiots, you retard), which is a rare feat for most fiction, not just video games. when you can resonate more with villains like psycho mantis (I didn't when I was young, but adult me 100% does), it is a clear sign of a well-written plot and clever characters. this doesn't apply to mgs4, that one is absolutely retarded from start to finish.

Golden Sun is one of the examples where at a cursory glance it's an idiot plot, but if you actually look at the details you can see, "No, wait, it makes sense and everyone was acting as they best knew."

>Saturos and Menardi tried to appeal to Vale for help and got rejected, because Vale's entire society is based around protecting the Lighthouses/Mountain
>They tried to sneak in and get it done anyway, but were retarded and triggered the traps, which got the smart members of their team killed, and caused an avalanche
>Now everyone in Vale hates them and there's no chance of diplomacy. So they say fuck it and act by force
>Felix knows that Vale's entire culture is about defending the Lighthouses, so he thinks Isaac and co won't believe him, so he keeps secret
>Isaac and Co were literally told by the voice of God to keep the Lighthouses from being lit

Several of the characters are stupid, Saturos and Menardi were too dumb to solve the towers themselves which is the only reason they didn't just win outright and Isaac kept catching them. Felix was being a woe-is-me retard and made no effort to fix things. The Wise One was doing his thing.

But overall, the characters were all acting with knowledge they had and the plot is completely congruent.

Compare with a game I like a LOT more, Xenoblade 3

>"We keep getting attacked by Moebius! But what is Moebius!"
>"We just recruited someone from Moebius! Let's not ask him anything."
>"Arrrgh! This mystery! What is Moebius!?"

Tifa knows for sure that Cloud's recollection is wrong, there's multiple times during his talks where you can see her looking uncomfortable, but she prompts him to go along regardless. Later, during her monologue we see her internal thoughts during those times, where she's fully aware of the things he's getting wrong (eg. He says they were apart for 3 years, she mentally corrects that it was 5 years etc).

Plus everything about Nibelheim is correct, but he wasn't there, so she's completely clueless what's going on there.

She knows that Cloud's psyche is absolutely fragile because she found him when he first came to Midgard and he was a total fucking wreck, he was manic and borderline psychotic. She took care of him and then he disappeared and started his mercenary work.

None of this is compilation stuff, this is all in the OG FF7 game. This is all clearly shown on screen. We see Tifa looking uncomfortable during Cloud's stories, we see her prompting the others to shut up and let Cloud tell them anyway, we see her confusion about Nibelheim, we see her internal comments pointing out the inconsistencies and we see Cloud at the train station in Midgar as a complete mess.

Because all Reaper technology innately indoctrinates people and brainwashes them into doing their bidding. You literally just need to spend time around a reaper artifact and you'll end up brainwashed.
This is a key plot-point throughout the series, but is completely abandoned in ME3, because that game was worthless fucking shit.

That shit is 100% a cope by people who want to pretend this game's smart.
It's like that excuse that he's based off an older AI that can't take in any new information when he clearly does take in new info in the game.

How are you supposed to jump to the conclusion that a circle with an arrow is representative of a clock in the first place? Seems like the kind of shit only a wagie with a desk job staring at a wallclock all day waiting for work to end would think.
Still got it correct with C based on the thinking that 1.) There was three of every color so there should be another filled in Blue (this is usually a red herring with these tho), and 2.) None of the arrows are pointing in the same direction so you choose the one that's different to match that pattern.

You don't even kill his evil commander, game ends with him outright getting away AND fully turning your bro into a heartless machine post-credits. All you accomplish after losing your whole crew is rescuing a woman and downing maybe some of his henchmen, it was obvious sequel-bait that never came to fruition.

Irrc the OG she stayed with Aerith but the game never hinted at what they talked about. Aerith having the patience and understanding of a saint in regards to Cloud even after he brutally assaulted her definitely hint at her being clued in as to Cloud's broken state either by Tifa or her life stream powers.

The Tifa thing was handled well if you looked at the nuances of their interactions. Tifa is very gentle with Cloud especially aftet her first attempt at her confronting him failed.
The real idiot plot happens with the team letting Cloud hold the Black Materia

All of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Super.

Yes this is videogame related, there are like 60-70 Dragon Ball Franchise games that all go through the plot of the anime, sometimes in very excruciating detail.

That's probably somewhat intentional, think back to ME1, the Good/Paragon choices are all so fucking retarded that the only way you can ever justify choosing them is if you meta game it with "This is a videogame so it won't actually matter."

>The Rachni absolutely devastated the Galaxy and this Queen could restart that war. She says she won't, but I have zero guarantees and obviously she's pleading for her life.
>Whelp, guess I'll just trust her, all good.

>These random colonists have been turned into zombies and my only way of treating them non-lethally is with an untested, experimental grenade that's going to put my entire team into danger trying
>All good, there's no actual risk any of my guys will die because of me prioritising random civilians as I put them in avoidable danger

>Wow, the Destiny Ascention is in trouble. It's a completely useless ship that cannot help in this battle, filled only with diplomats and we're fighting a war of extinction. We don't even know if we CAN kill Saren, but if we don't, we're all dead
>Nah, all good. I'll sacrifice 30% of my entire forces to save that flagship because it's a videogame and so we'll beat Saren regardless.

its C
there are 3 teal, 3 white, 2 blue, so its gotta be C or D to fit the pattern of 3 each
there are no repeated angles of the arrow on any other circle, not even close, and D is far to similar to the bottom left white circle, while C is distinctly different to middle white circle and middle-right teal circle, so C is the only one that fits the pattern.

>The one good thing that Rebirth does is actually have Tifa admit to Aerith right away that shit doesn't add up, then have the girls softly confront Cloud about it who treats it as an ailment rather than them accusing him
Rebirth adding the whole "Cloud isn't sure if Tifa is the real Tifa" thing that starts in Kalm also helps a bit since she might think that denying what he says might make him more likely to turn on her (and he briefly does so anyway).

It quite literally is a plot that only exists because everyone is an idiot.
>There's a literal definition in the OP
>"Kept in motion solely by virtue of the fact everybody is involved is an idiot and where the story would quickly end, or possibly not even happen, if this were no the case"

Because you seem retarded and if you actually read the definition you were trying to say makes it not the case you would know that.

Naw Jade is 100% a contender for being a fucking idiot, despite the game trying to tell you over and over again about how he's a genius.

The game tries to explain this as Jade being somewhere between "Not wanting to take responsibility" and genuinely being a psychopath, which is a pretty flimsy excuse already. But what really makes it a problem is that at a certain point in the game Luke has a personal talk with Jade about this and he recognizes that it's a problem and explains himself. So you think to yourself that he's going to grow as a character and change his ways, but then immediately he keeps doing the same shit anyways. That's when you know the writing is just full idiot plot at that point.
He never apologizes, nor does anyone ever call him out on it. Everyone still trusts him despite him clearly witholding information a thousand times over the course of the game.

Jade is definitely one of the biggest reasons why anyone claiming Tales of the Abyss has "Good character development" is a moron. The only character development is Luke doing a complete 180 (With no subtly or change over time, he just goes straight from being an asshole to a sorry bitch, he doesn't have to learn how to adjust over time or anything). Every other character only pretends to have anything resembling character development in a cutscene and then immediately goes back to their flawed self for the rest of the game, with no one ever commenting on it or acknowledging it ever again.

still doesn't change the fact that there's no real discernible motion represented in the image at all unless you are going in first thinking of it as a clock or other rotary object moving clockwise, defeating the purpose of it being a test of unassisted and base pattern recognition.

Alduin is an aspect of Akatosh the dragon of time, his job is to destroy the world so a new world can be born
but he goes off script and decides to try and take over the world instead
by rejecting his fated purpose he is massively, massively, depowered but still strong enough by mortal standards to accomplish his goal
to straighten things out and get reality back on track, a second aspect of Akatosh, the dragonborn, you the player is born

>It's an idiot plot because you have to be an idiot to keep the plot going.
To be fair, that's the entire meta point: you have to repeat the old form (crystal story) rather than subverting it, the same way BD was an attempt for Square to get back to the same sort of basics.

That would be fine, except the real reason is because the developers are virtue signaling over school shootings and real life violence. They know their stance makes no sense, is based purely off emotion with no other thought, and is not principled, so they wrote in the excuse of the soulless, debt slavery corporation that doesn't want to risk workers establishing power. The ironic thing is that they wrote in the very reason why their virtue signaling stance for not having weapons is retarded. Their retardation gets compounded when you factor in you can eat fish alive, cook them alive, and even burn them alive to make electricity. They have actually established that they would rather people be literal slaves to corporations where even death may not be an escape over the possibility that an innocent person might get hurt because weapons and violence are icky, and they are ok with the cruelest violence as long as it is on the most defenseless creatures, but don't you dare defend yourself against violent, hostile creatures.

That is why people are disgusted with them. Their stance isn't principled, it is classic narcissistic virtue signaling.

Pokeymanz Rejuvenation. The main villain could literally just rewind time and kidnap the one fucking person she needs but doesn't, even after said persons (fake) death. The only reason they had the ability to beat Yu Yeven is because Yuna went on the usual pilgrimage bro
>Auron tells everyone
>Wakka goes NUH UH BRUDDA NOT PUTTING ME YUNA THROUGH THAT
>Lulu already lost a summoner and the whole Yojimbo situation, also stops the pilgrimage
>Tidus probably goes insane because he knows, before even finishing the journey that lets him come to terms with it, that his dad (who he hates) he has to kill, so he probably becomes suicidal
>probably somehow tells him he's dead, too, and break the group up
>no one learns a fucking thing or learns to figure out clues for themselves
>fail
Auron not saying shit is the only thing stopping it from becoming an idiot plot. It just also let him aura farm
