The retarded partner ai that keep giving bosses smirks and crits, making the game 10x harder than it's supposed to be.

Having to minmax alignments for a third alignment.

Sigh, remake with V graphics when?
>>
>>739805201
You just have to pick the first dialogue option every time and you'll get the neutral ending
>>
>>739805227
I just want them to release the original version on Steam as is. Remakes are goyslop.
>>
>>739805201
I got neutral naturally on my first playthrough without trying or looking at a guide. The only thing I knew about it was that I had to do every sidequest, which I was probably going to do anyway, it just made me check thoroughly to not miss any.
>>
>>739805227
It has like twice as many demons as V and they would all have to be 3D modeled and animated, so probably not anytime soon. They were able to cram a ton of content into this game due to being handheld and sprite-based, that would make it a pain to fully remake. If you're lucky you'll get an upscaled remaster some day.

Music
Characters were likeable(unlike smt4a)
Boss battles at the start were actually challenging and fast paces
>>
>>739804845
I really wish 4 had proper dungeons and less retarded balance(read wasn't piss easy the second you set foot in tokyo). Also everything after the reactor was just retarded.

Not a lot to be honest. It's pretty fun before Medusa and then it turns to shit. Also a lot of the monster designs look terrible. 4A is better in every way

>>739804845
IVA is better

>>739808281
>>739808301
Haven't played IVA yet but IV is still really good. I started playing it after I dropped P3 because that game sucks fat cock
>>
Why in this game if you don't go first do you automatically get a oneshot?

Free stat allocation breaks the game when the game is too afraid to punish you for it. Naruku is only difficult because skills have a base damage value and your starting life is low. SMTIII balanced out its customization with encounters that were essentially puzzles where you needed to fill in the gaps of your character progression while IV was a continuation of Strange Journey's philosohy of bursting enemies down so you don't die first.
>>
How do I harvest magatsuhi IRL, bros?
>>
>>739804845
I never played this but I played Nocturne last year and it's on my all time JRPG god tier now.
>>
>>739804845
It's the worst mainline SMT game. But it's still a pretty good game. The atmosphere is good (literally carries the game)
>>
>>739814526
What's your favourite mainline and spin-off, anon?
>>
>>739809223
See >>739811838
Across the board the HP pools in the game are way too low. Since skills are scaled with a base damage usually you're hitting those numbers without even high stats. Enemies don't have unique HP either so they all die instantly too.
>>
everything, it's kino on a highest caliber

>>739814624
VV and Raidou 2
>>
Good ost is mandatory for a jrpg, demon designs and parallels with real world that are decently intriguing, throughout the game there's always a mystery to think about, the negative would be the fact that this game was too easy.
>>
>>739804845
A week before this game released, I literally ran out of my apartment and traveled downtown to pick it up because a random poster on /v/ said a store in my city broke street date.

They were right, I bought it early and I proceeded to get so lost that I walked four miles back home.
>>
>>739816169
Was it worth it?
>>
>>739816216
Absolutely. I remember that summer fondly because of it.
>>
>>739816169
you got lost irl, then you got lost in naruku and tokyo. high verisimilitude experience.
>>
>>739816406
My friend actually got lost in IV Tokyo for several years and never beat the game because he'd boot it up, forget where he was, wander around, and get so mad he set it down again. Literally refuses to use a guide or map.
>>
>>739816530
Based. He'll get there one day, even if takes several more years.

back to the kino atmosphere and setting of SMT1&2 after the boring ass desert and empty shit of Nocturne
Too bad they went back to Nocturne's sleep inducing empty desert of copypasted ruined buildings in V

>boring empty shit
Describes SMT 1 to a T. And who gives a fuck about the overworld, Nocturne and Strange Journey are great because they have great dungeons, Strange Journey doesn't even have an overworld. V sucks because it has like two shitty dungeons and that's it, IV is good despite its middling dungeons, not because of.
>>
>>739822292
Strange Journey and V literally share the same world style where you are exploring different sectors of the map while going back to your base camp in between each area.
>>
>>739804845
They used the foundation from Strange Journey instead of the dogshit called SMT3 and improved upon it
>>
its really hard to side with Neutral in this game

Art style, character designs, music and atmosphere are absolute good. Everything else blows.
