So how long is it going to be until we get another Hitman now that First Light sold well?

How is it going to affect the next Hitman’s development?
>>
>>739819360
I can't imagine it will be in the next ten years
They'll milk First Light for the next decade I'd imagine like they did WoA
>>
>>739819360
They confirmed during a community stream that Hitman 4 is coming after First Light.
>>
>>739819929
*the next Hitman game
not sure why I typed Hitman 4, lol
>>
They expanded a lot after they left Square so they have more than a few teams to work on different things. They're also working on a RPG so I think it would depend on how that does too.
>>
>>739819360
>>739819929
Will it be Hitman 4 as in an entirely new game entry in the series? Or Hitman 4 as in we're adding a new 5-8 map campaign to Hitman WoA.

I can see them making DLC for First Light but idk if it will have the same evergreen power as WoA
>>
>>739820186
>new game entry in the series?
I think almost definitely this. WoA is already a complete package, wouldn't make any sense to cram more into it, especially with how they massively overhauled the Glacier engine with First Light.
>>
>>739819360
idk about everyone else, but i'd be fine never getting another Hitman. We got so much.
>>
>>739819360
Hopefully they return to the grit of hitman now that they got the bond crap out of their system finally

Never going to happen. You'll get mass appealing slop.
>>
>>739821497
I’m assuming the handholding stuff was some kind of Amazon MGM mandate. They know Hitman players would crucify them if they did that.
>>
>>739820296
In theory, they could keep adding to WoA forever, since it’s an entire ecosystem by this point. I’m also not sure if they amped up Glacier for First Light or not considering it reuses a lot of WoA assets, looks similar and really just has new animations as its noticeable difference.

First Light’s gameplay feels like a simplified WoA with some Watch Dogs hacking thrown in.
>>
>>739822667
Is First Light good?
>>739821497
>Focus 47
Diane already does this.
>>

>>
>>739822961
Not as good as Hitman, but good for what it is (that being a cinematic spy game with stealth sections breaking up the story bits). The best way I could describe it is that it’s like if L.A Noire was a stealth game and had its main characters be a rag-tag group of zoomer spies.
>>
>>739823224
Ok, but is it worth it if I like both Hitman and Bond?
I'm not feeling to hyped about dropping full price for a 15 hour campaign and that's it, are the challenges/escalation good?
>>
Wonder if a Hitman 4 would bring this over from First Light, but I only saw it happen once.
>made a distraction to get a guard around a corner away from his buddies
>working out how i want to get the other 2
>one of them fucking mentions something about the guy not coming back an comes to investigate

>>739822961
IMO, a 7-8. It's good, but it has shit I wasn't keen on. Do not go in expecting Hitman.
Felt the controls could be a bit iffy, there are gimmick boss fights, some levels have more "open" ways to reach your goal but still fairly linear, and I don't think the Tacsim isn't for me at all. Haven't tried the other mode, Operations yet, but it only has 2 missions I can see so far.

The Tacsim so far is escalations, but you have to do shit like shoot somebody in both legs 2 times, get X headshots, disarm X enemies. For me, that's a bit boring.
Haven't looked at the challenges myself yet.

What would the next Hitman game even be about? Where WoA leaves off, Providence is completely dismantled, the ICA is gone, and 47 and Diana are just making their living doing Freelance hits in Freelancer mode. I’m not sure how you top the not-Illuminati in terms of an antagonist.
>>
>>739827821
>absolution 2
>play as aged up diana (the co-op mode is a betatest for female hitman)
>instead of being a repentant sinner such as 47 she hates nuns and murders the pope
>with the ICA and providence out of the picture she forms a new illuminati king maker society of dysgenic lesbian girlbosses
>kills 47 at some point to both retire the character and prove that she is totes so much better
>>
>>739827821
Hear me out. I love 47, I really do. But I think this game has a lot of potential for a custom character. Some games live and die on their protagonist. Ironside being gone? Then I don't want to play as Fisher. David Bateson isn't getting any younger. The core gameplay of HITMAN is just too good. It really doesn't need to focus on its protagnist and it's story. It's a chainged together set of sandbox maps and I love it the way it is.

IO likes doing the suit shit. And while I don't want HITMAN turning into no live service game, they can take a few pages. Some people like buying random crap for their dudes, especially to show it off. Coop is coming, and will hopefully remain. If they're smart, they'll make the next HITMAN custom assassins. I usually buy IO DLCs more as a form of support and game expansion. With this method they can rake in doe from people wanting to play COOP with their custom suit or some shit.

Take that even further with versus type modes. Assassin vs Assassin, counter-op (nod to Perfect Dark) where you can play as a guard that can act like an NPC. Go full blown "HITMAN: ASSASSINS" and focus on the coop elements.

I'd like to have my own personal assassin. I think that's where it should go.
>>
>>739827821
>Providence is completely dismantled, the ICA is gone
Not yet.
Diana becomes the constant and it ends in a cliffhanger of them planning to take out the rest of Providence

>47, it appears that the last three jobs you have, all had something in common. All three targets were members of an elitist society, known as 'retards'. 47, I'm concerned. Why are you being tasked with eliminating these people? I've got some information on the person who is requesting this contracts. I'll give you the location, see if you cna find anything out

And boom, WoA part 4 since IOI can't write for shit
>>

>>
>>739828928
AI can genuinely do a flawless impression of 47, so even when Bateson dies, 47 can be continued to be voiced by him forever. See:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF1YqrGwZNE&pp=ygURYWdlbnQgNDcgYWkgdm9pY2U%3D&ra=m

As for suits, I feel like a “create a suit” feature where you make your own suit and have the suit unlocks be replaced by unlockable clothing pieces would be best. I wouldn’t mind having a second playable character though. Maybe a female assassin on the same side as 47 who has her own missions separate from 47 and has a different playstyle (maybe inspired by how Bond plays in First Light with the bluffing system).

>>739829098
Diana dismantled Providence immediately after becoming The Constant. There’s now a massive power vacuum in need of filling, which is part of why all those syndicates start popping up in Freelancer. Personally, I think it would be cool if the plot of the next Hitman game was a faction war where you played every side and the story could change depending on what contracts you accept from which factions.

>>
>>739830681
If anything will bust them, it’s this fantasy MMO they’re apparently working on. First Light had the good will from WoA, the shared stealth focus, and the 007 license carrying it, but I can’t imagine why the kind of people who play games like FFXIV and old school RuneScape would migrate over to a MMO from a company that’s known for making stealth games.
>>
>>739823569
>start over with a young mr hitman on his first hit manning
They basically already covered that at the beginning of WoA. The ending was just
>Diama: Don't worry, Hitman. There are always more people to kill!
>Hitman: And I'm always ready to kill!
So it's not like they wrapped everyrhing up in a way that would make it hard to explain more hitmanning. And honestly the story doesn't even matter for Hitman. Write anything. it doesn't need to be good, just provide any sort of background to say why he's going around killing. I doubt most players actually followed the story in WoA anyways.

I really want a festival level
Like a huge outdoors one. Think like Miami level of crowds mixed in with the not Berghain club in Germany.
Multiple mission stories from shit like plant drugs in your target's tent and escort to the security area, poison them, act as event manager and have them on stage and a fixture falls on them, have them invited to play with the band and rig it so they get electrocuted, have them hook up with a guy/girl (depends on target's sex) and then they're isolated, cause a mass evacuation/temporary lockdown that there's a mass shooter and snipe them making it look like a crazed killer (ie still get SA rank), etc

Split it so there's a second target in an office style building with 2-3 floors nearby so hide fags can get their pseduo stealth bitch mode

I think a lot of people did for the world building and seeing how it all connects. The smartest thing they did with the story was to have it be something you uncover and have to piece together by listening to optional dialogue.

the coin is the dumbest thing in the game, imo. It's effectiveness should be effected by the surrounding noises of the level. for example in Miami where there's a huge crowd and a loud race going on, the coin should be basically useless.

It feels weird to call the AI shit. Compared to 90% of other games on the market, the AI is extremely advanced with complex logic trees. Even Rockstar games just settle with all the enemies in the area auto aggroing you the second you get spotted. It just needs to behave in a predictable way so it can be exploited by the player.

>>
>>739831858
Elusives are honestly the only way you can realistically do it in a game heavily focused on replay value. Personally, I would have preferred more bonus missions like A House Built on Sand, Landslide and Patient Zero.
>>
>>739819360

wasn't Absolution done with the same engine? it had dual wielding just fine.
>>
>>739832402
I seriously doubt they're going to implement female disguises. It's going to be male disguises only with a female head stuck on top.
>>
>>739832312
If I’m right, any object breaking generates noise of some kind.

I think one big inconsistency is that it’s not always clear what glass is bulletproof and what isn’t. 9 times out of 10, you can shoot through any window or glass surface, but then you have exceptions like the windows in the Hokkaido operating theatre or the security room next to the bank vault, and there’s no way you’d know about it until you tried to shoot through it.
>>
>>739832692
I don’t know what was going on with dual wielding, but I know Absolution couldn’t do elevators either, which is why they made any time you use an elevator a cutscene.
>>
>>739832742
They would need to at least need to make a female body for all the disguises for it to not look uncanny valley.
>>

>>739833193
They tried linear Hitman on a AAA budget with Absolution and it flopped. I doubt they’d make that mistake again when WoA succeeded by being the anti-Absolution. They’ve likely learned to keep the more linear games as their own IPs.

>>739835395
Not sure on speed running but if you can iinclude gear taken in/starting location japan/france
>>
>>739836414
I tried various ways
>shoot her gondola from spawn (used on pro)
>do the flash trick (very hard to pull of imo)
>oil fire (used on master)
>>
>>739836414
In my case, I started in 47’s room with a sniper rifle, fire a couple of shots on the ground near her so she panics and runs into the cable car, then shoot the cable car once she’s inside of it. Combine those two kills and you’re looking at less than 2 minutes easily if you can get to an exit quick enough.
>>
>>739835395
Paris was my first SASO. you can just climb up the pipes and shoot both targets from a balcony and then climb down and walk to the helicopter. Ezpz
>>
>>739836510
>do the flash trick

I genuinely have no clue how the top speedrunners pull off that trick consistently. The flashbang/magnesium pouch’s range is horrible, so it must be a pixel perfect throw to blind all her guards.

What is the most difficult level to SA without speedrunner bs?
>>
>>739836826
Colorado. No contest.

Speedrunner BS is genuinely the easiest way to get Colorado SASO.
>>
>>739836905
We don't talk about colorado here.
>>
>>739836826
Without SO? I remember Marrakesh being annoying. Not because it's hard, but because there's a lot of waiting around. SA takes like 20+ minutes iirc

What about Mumbai?
>>
>>739837080
Oh yeah Mumbai is another really long one because the targets are so spread out
I guess Chongqing has a similar issue where it's basically 2 levels stacked on top of eachother
>>
>>739836826
anything big is automatically difficult, but personally I had a lot of trouble with how fiddly bangkok is to SASO, I had to do shit like timing the head movements of guards just to get through
>>
>>739837080
Mumbai is straightforward when you realise that there’s multiple ways to lure the targets out of their respective fortresses and that The Maelstrom’s route is the same every time.
>>
>>739837159
chingchong has the sniper thing though

I completely forgot about that, the sniper meetup makes it way easier you just have to wait like 3 minutes for them to arrive on the bridge and I hate waiting multiple minutes for targets to get in position
>>
>>739837080
>>739837159
Mumbai is super easy.
Spawn near docks
Go to the balcony on the house up the hill
Lethal poison the drink without the ash tray beside it (wife smokes but no the maelstrom)
Go to roof, take brick and shoot the flagpole.
At this point the maelstrom will drink that and die
Go to kiln and throw brick into the fire
A signal will be made for the other two targets to meet
Go to dock with exit
Shoot the boat on the roof and it will take out the last two targets.
Can be done in less than 7 minutes.
>>
>>739837230
My hot take is that bangkok is like the 2nd worst map
>>
>>739837496
i never knew about the kiln thing and i played like 600 hours

>>
I got Hitman WoA on disscount, never played anything of this franchise before, but I watched Bond movies in anticipation for the game but didnt buy it in the end, gladly (looks meh as fuck). So,Im only on the second chapter of WoA but it has been pretty fun, spent some time in Paris already and its arcadey enough that it never feels like a slog. So yeah, good call on my behalf
>>
I think the dialog in the game is seriously underrated.

I love nu-hitman, but I'm completely and utterly addicted to freelancer due to the simple fact that it rarely accounts for SASO. I feel like SASO started to become a mental prison for me, where I couldn't play the levels anymore without trying to do them in a boring, sanitized way to get the silent assassin every time. I love improvising and getting to dodgy situations, and I feel like Freelancer provides more of those opportunities.
>>
does the james bond game have hitman mechanics? Looking for a reply from an actual human btw. If you're a crying screeching /v/ermin subhuman you can ignore this post.
>>
>>739840490
I think there's a lot of people who had that mentality as well. Freelancer is great.
I hope they capitalize on its popularity in a new game. More than just fucking furniture packs.

This so much. Freelancer is honestly what I've always wanted hitman to be.

and triggering several scripted conversations so NPCs can go back to enjoying the party instead of waiting for me

Very wholesome, 47...
>>
>>739840567
there are quiet takedowns, remote distractions, emetic poison darts, a suppressed pistol, smokebombs, and a couple other fun gadgets
you can even spend a resource to 100% convince some people you are supposed to be there (wears off after a minute)
there are multiple ways to achieve the same objective
but you cannot drag or hide bodies, everything is louder than in hitman, and there is dev cum everywhere. the hitman parts are quickly replaced with the unrelenting drive to push the cinematic narrative forward
i finished the game feeling like i wanted more quiet solo infiltrations without green diamond objective markers everywhere i go and some bitch in my earbud getting annoyed when im not speedrunning the mission
>>
>>739831964
It's real alligator leather
>>
Imagine adding the old hitman rules to get SA rating
>can only shoot twice
>alerts are back, if the guards chimp out because of an explosion or broken glass it adds an alert even if no one spots or blames you
>close encounters, if the yellow spotting bar gets too high it counts as close encounter
>>
>>739841159
I really liked the tango. Felt appropriate for some reason. I also like how Diana is constantly on the same wavelength with 47 (avoiding all environmental traps and playing along when needed), which is a given, considering their long history.
>>
>>739841828
i already do a dozen or so self imposed handicaps but it would be nice if they put detection in the game for some sort of hardcore mode
>>
>>739840490

how did they get away with this?
>>
>>739842109
they nerfed master difficulty from the old professional difficulty
suspicious items being one thing i loved, wonder which novelty items i'd actually bring if they were unsuspicious with a particular disguise i plan on using in a given run
>>
>>739841964
what kind of handicaps?
>>
>>739843292
no carrying an unrealistic amount of items in pockets
no disabling cameras
no thrown distractions that couldn't reasonably be something that coincidentally fell by its self
stuff like that just to give the NPCs a fighting chance
>>
>>739819360
The only thing I want from them is to make a level based on the Ghost Adventures guy’s wife trying to have him killed when they’re shooting an episode. It’s too good to exist though.
>>
Autistic blank slate mc do poorly because story games are what the plebs want. They might ice hitman.

>>739837008
>bring in lethal poison pills
>wake up sleeping waiter
>poison food dish just past the shoe shop before waiter picks it up
Raza dies ~3 minutes later
>go to the side of the consulate where the guy crashed his car
>climb up and go through the garage
>sneak up to the 2nd floor, first room on the left
>turn on the vacuum and pacify the security guard
>either prepare the railing for electrification or just lure Klaus into the vacuum room with a thrown screwdriver and kill him alone in there

>>
>>739843935
47 being a blank slate is a misunderstanding since he’s had depth as a character since day one.

I think the real way that Hitman can be a casual filter is ironically how open ended it is. If you watch casual players and streamers not experienced with stealth games trying to play the game, then it’s physically painful to watch. You start to realise why they included optional handholding in the game.
>>
>>739846694
>If you watch casual players and streamers not experienced with stealth games trying to play the game, then it’s physically painful to watch
you also get to learn things you never would have tried otherwise because you were too smart
for example, in Paris just climbing straight up on the catwalk in your suit
Braindead retarded idea, but actually completely fine because none of the models enforce you, none of the guards can see you, and you can sneak into the kitchen
>>
>>739847548
wonder how many monkeys with keyboards it would take to write a new world record speedrun route
