It seems like a game can breathe and get overwhelmingly positive. Why is Mina so low?

Uncslop sucks. The age of low quality GBA trash clones is over.
>>
Bad gameplay. Soulslike combat doesn't work in a 2D environment.
>>
Lots of Turkish on this board today

AHHHHH

>more difficulty slop with a million items and a ton of linear stat upgrades
I'm fucking tired boss. And they all implement it way worse than any Souls game

Question.
The fuck are you even supposed to do in this videogame?
>>
>>739824162
Idk but every time this seems to happen it always turns out to be some random third-world drama shit like "players in China are unhappy over X feature".

Like how Silksong got reviewbombed purely because the Chinese translation was allegedly bad.
>>
>>739824231
I'd love to had been a fly in the board room meeting when they made this decision

20k is not much for a company, but still...some of that money went straight to buying a mansion for a sheboon in one of those scam organization.
>>
>>739824162
If you check the reviews, it's people complaining about the difficulty, so git gud

>all time peak on Steam is 8K players
Good riddance, nigger lovers.
>>

redditera just can't catch a break, eh?
>>
>>739827879
Is this 20k for all of them combined or 20k for each?
>>
>>739828043
the remaining 192k bought it on Switch surely
>>
>>739828383
yeah, I'm sure they did
>>
>check negative reviews
>nearly every single one is "What the FUCK, game is TOO HARD and ANNOYING because of [thing you can change in the options menu]."

Guess difficulty based "accessibility settings" don't count unless they're forced on the player.
>>
>>739824162
Confirmed to be shit
>>
>>739829507
They don’t you lazy dev. Make an easy normal and hard mode instead of 50 billion toggles.
>>
Why are people creaming their pants over this basic shit?
>>
>>739829783
Shills, culture warriors, and boomers who played shovel knight
>>
>>739829663
What you really mean is present the player with normal mode (neutered braindead game) and then hide the actual game deep in the options menu.
>>
>>739829814
>everyone who doesn't blindly hate games is a shill
/vee/ moment
>>
It's alright. The critical reviews HAVE to be paid off though. This game is getting Hollow Knight scores, and it's no Hollow Knight.
>>
>>739829663
Isn't it lazier to present fewer options?
>>
>>739824162
I give it a week before it's completely forgotten.
>>
>>739828006
It's not the kind of difficult that is worth getting good for. It's uninteresting frustration for the sake of frustration.
>>
>>739829860
There were 3 options there.

>>
The real reason is retards not reading the manual and getting filtered by the first boss
>>
>>739830132
Reading is STOOPIT, I should win everything first try without paying attention
>>
>>739828268
Who the fuck cares, just skip it, pirate ar best.
>>
>>739824162
It's unironically too graphically unimpressive.
What were they thinking making a 240p game in 26 years after year 2000?
>>
>>739826554
Nine Sols was reviewbombed by virtue alone of being a taiwanese game, when it first came out it was just "positive"
>>739828006
>complaining about difficulty
>in a game with modifiers
>>
>>739830127
basic traversal. There's no reason why every enemy on every screen should be such a hit sponge while you also have to leap over pits while also getting shot at by fireballs from indestructible enemies.
>>
Making the combat such liquid ass sure was an interesting design choice.
>>
They went way too far with these crunchy ass graphics. Gameboy games were way more readable than this shit. What the fuck were they thinking?
>>
>>739830338
You can change enemy health, Mina's damage taken, and how demanding the platforming is in the settings. There's even multiple ways you can address these things if you don't like the default.
>>
>>739826554
Silksong is pure artificial difficulty. "
>Make everything hit twice as hard as Hollow Knight
>>
>>739826554
>Translation is unreadable shit
>It-it's review bombing
Go fuck yourself localization bootlicker
>>
>>739830103
So you’ve surely boycotted every other company that makes luxury goods you enjoy, correct?
>>
>>739830491
>Dumbasses are still shitting up Silksong discussion like this
>>
>>739830686
Nope just them
>>
>>739831089
Then you’re more of a slacktivist than trannies screaming about Harry Potter.
>>
>>739830708
>No argument since the release of sliksong till now
>>
>>739828043
Concurrent players isn't total sales dumbass. People don't all buy the game and play it at the exact same time.

I released a dumb little self made indie game on steam not too long ago that hit 200 concurrent players, it's currently sitting at 6500 sales. That's 32.5 sales per top concurrent players.

With a top concurrent player count of 8000, it's very likely they're going to hit 200k sales within a month or two. I don't know if the numbers you're using are actually the numbers they're hoping for (Let's be real they're likely hoping for way more), but by your own standards they're 100% going to succeed.
>>
>>739824162
It's OK OP, you're 100% AIDS
>>
None of you have played the game.
I have and it's... Fine. It just doesn't play as well as Shovel knight and the core gameplay loop got boring within an hour. The reviews are not going to be uniformly positive because many others are likely to feel that stale-ness too, game just ain't great
>>
>>739832112
I'd be fine if the reviews I saw were saying that instead of crying that it's hard.
>>
>>739826554
Game isn't bad but it's genuinely got some issues in the gameplay loop. Not at the standards of Shovel Knight
>>
>>739829931
Only if you don't balance for them. With toggles you are sure they didn't balance for any of them. With that said I haven't bought this game yet so no idea if that applies.
>>
>>739830629
>ching chong nip nong
>I DESERVE PELFECT TRANSRRATIONS STUPID GWEILO

>>
>>739829663
Didn't the trailer that showed off the gameplay customization features show presets?
i.e if you are having trouble, turn on "assist mode" and it sets all toggles to a preset to make the game easier.
>>
>>739827879
dude they were burning down the country and murdering people for months when they did this, and I’m pretty sure the yacht club guy is canadian too, which would make this extra insane… $1 is fucking inexcusable. fuck these people.
>>
>>739824287
Soulslike combat doesn't work, period.
>>
I was going to buy it but I literally cannot see what’s going on when I enlarge the screenshots. The resolution is so low. There’s no grid filter, is there? Why would someone make a game like this with such a basic usability problem?
>>
>>739833185
May we say one of those "burned down" places? Should be easy to get photos that aren't just a cia agent throwing over a burning trashcan for photo ops if they razed the entire country, right?

wait thats all it needs? Pfft thats nothing for them. The company is totally saved
>>
>>739824404
You are contractor tasked to do maintenance on generators you installed ages ago.
The shit you installed is leaking evil radiations everywhere, but management insist it's fine and that OSHA has a standardized anti-local-citizen-turned-monsters shiv specifically for those situation - so stop asking questions and start stabbing and fixing.
>>
>>739829931
>realize your game is shit to an irrecoverable point during the last beta
>decide to just vomit every single quirky effect you can think of in a menu
>someone complain the part of the game you *actually designed* are shit
>you can now handwaved it away and declare it's the player job to make a good game out of your mess
So yeah, it's much lazier than actually fixing your shit.
>>
>>739829507
to be fair, using them disable achievements, so it's a huge
>you didn't beat the game, doesn't count
flag
so most people will never use them even if it makes the game objectively more enjoyable for them
>>
>>739829507
Expecting people to design your shitty game for you is just ridiculous.
>>
>>739833606
Wow that's totally comparable to what you were saying lmao

>>
>>739828043
It's around 400k just to break even, and the head said if they don't sell 1m they will be disappointed. Budget was well over $5m.

It's actually ogre for them
>>
I have "go recover half your money from your body every time you die or lose it forever" fatigue.
>>
>>739832568
Absolutely braindead take.
It's much more work to handle a fuckload of toggles and gives you more options.
>>
>>739829507

It's just another retro 2d furry Zelda with an inaccurate jump button because of the perspective.
They literally make a million of these games every year on PC.
