Don't get dismayed by getting raped, but treat each failed attempt as a learning opportunity and gaining more knowledge about the map and how the game works. Starting from the very beginning isn't that bad either once you learn the general gist of how areas are structured, how different enemy types work, where the hidden shortcuts are and where to find party members and gamebreaking weapons. Whenever you manage to get a hard save, go loose and try to explore everything you can without worrying about long-term consequences, die, then reload and do it properly.

You can compare 2 similar cars from the era and see something like top gear's verdict on which one was better.Other games from the era relative to the newest GT game have better driving(ps2 onwards), and it's not fun to get smoked by that one opponent that's faster than all the other possible cars for that event. The end game can become too grindy, also lol 24 hour endurances.
