Did they end up rolling that "one less team on dire marsh" change in the experimental queue over into the regular one? Or make any changes to spawn point density? One of the biggest issues I had with the game was how often you could spawn and run into another player or team before you even got to the first compound, the southeast corner of the marsh was particularly bad for it.

Factions are being rebalanced so that you won't need as much Salvage, it's not worthwhile to block the ability to add gold/prestige tier mods to the pocket, because there is simply nothing rare enough in the game to warrant needing a safe pocket to keep it. If you CAN add prestige weapon mods, now every player when it's evident they're going to lose a fight, can strip their weapon of it's prestige mod and keep it out of the hands of the other player, which keeps winners winning in terms of gear distribution.
