It's my favorite Nintendo EPD game since Mario Galaxy.Just wish that the art direction was more DK coded overall. Feels like the Nintendo IPs are just blending into each others, you could take some bosses/world as is and put them in Splatoon or Odyssey with almost no issue.I also disliked the new retarded attitude they gave him. Even the post-game stuff wasn't nearly as engaging as in previous Mario games. The destruction mechanics were neat but rarely progressed beyond "aimlessly toss shit wherever you feel like it," I wanted more challenges built around manipulating terrain in unusual, mind-bending ways, sort of like how Portal teaches you new ways of thinking about spatial relationships. Instead the postgame doubles down on the gimmicky transformations, where the challenge is getting the controls to work properly.

I hated that, for a game that took 8 years or so to develop I genuinely expected there to be 16 real worlds. Racing Layer too, holy shit what a waste! What a fucking waste! Yeah the game is easy, the boss fights especially but the Void Kong, K. Rool, and Postgame fights were good. The final postgame level kinda sucked, I didn’t like it at all and it’s my least favorite out of all the ones they’ve done. I liked the Zebra and Snake challenge though. I did not buy the DLC, I never will. Listen I liked the game overall despite some glaring issues but I’m not getting a roguelite mode sold for $20 alongside a map with barely anything in it. I’ll defend Bananza on a lot of things but I’ll never defend that, it can fun as fuck I don’t care what were they thinking.

I'm trying to replay Bananza again. I got to Forest layer then quit because Kirby came out by then. It's fun if you play the game like a platformer. It's not Mario but its good for what it is. I think I also stopped playing it because I have to babysit a two-year-old. And I can't play anything over-stimulating on the TV. And this game eats battery in handheld even with HDR off.
